[Q] cannot flash factory ruu (virgin mobile) - HTC One V

I unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp, made a backup of the stock rom. But after I flashed custom rom and kernel, the system just keep rebooting. So I tried to restore the bakcup. Now the stock rom also keep rebooting.
I tried to follow the in structions in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018518
since from the bootloader said the radio is 1.00.00.0928, which was believed to cause the rebooting problem.
But it seems that the my hboot verstion is too new (which is 1.57 ). When I tried to flash the ruu, the bootloader shows the massage " hboot is older, update failed"
Does anyone know how to fix this? I just need the phone to be working, no matter which rom it uses. Thanks a lot.
Here is the full information of the bootloader, if it helps:
Promoc pvt ship s-on rl
hboot- 1.57.0000
radio- 1.00.00.0928
emmc-boot

I know you've probably already tried it but...did you flash the stock kernel from fast boot after restoring the backup? and also code fire x works on the new radio

Actually I did not. How can I get the stock kernel? from the backup or from the ruu? also I will try the code fire x to see if it works or not.
Thanks, man.

I tried code fire x. It worked great except the cemera( which was the bug of the rom). Thanks a lot. Is there any other rom I can use?

you can download one of the old pacman roms and swap out the galleries which will fix it if you're using beyond's build, on Simon's the camera won't work no matter what. you can use the newest pacman builds, but unfortunately there isn't a camera there either.
edit: and about the kernel, it'll be in the backup, just change the name of boot.emmc.win to boot.img so its easier to identify and fastboot flash it.

flashing custom rom-hboot 1.36

quick question: i updated my phone through the official jb update,so my hboot is now 1.36.
phone is unlocked and rooted also cmr custom recovery.
do i have to flash the custom 1.36 firmware or is the ota update one ok to install a custom rom.
reason being, just been in bootloop for an hour or so after flashing custom rom,but it could of been a bad flash on a corrupt boot.img, solved with several fastboot erase cache's and lots of re-boots
just want to check that the ota 1.36 is ok to flash a custom rom with.
thanks in advance,merry xmas.
Yeah, no difference.
Which ROM did you flash and is the standard boot.img compatible with the "JB hboot"?
insertcoin,i did extract the boot.img and flashed first-must of been a bad download, did not check the md5.
although i used the tool flasher for the boot.img, think i'll stick to cmd.
thanks for your input....
same problem
Well, appearantly you're not the only one... I tried to flash CM10 today, but didn't work either... Also got stuck in reboot. I hope someone can explain what i'm doing wrong.
You need to flash modified boot.img on newer hboots, and you would be aware of this if you read the OP carefully. Post 9308 in CM10 thread.

as far as i know htc havent released the one x jb kernel source yet (though the one x+ has i believe) so any non stock roms/kernels ie cm pa aokp ect are missing features = bt,gprs, ect. im not sure if there is a aosp rom/kernel that is fully working for hboot 1.36 as ive read through lots of threads and as to be expected there is a lot of conflicting information.
if any one can clear this up for me it would be appreciated
is there a non stock rom that can be run on hboot 1.36
sense based roms can be flashed on hboot 1.3.6
See my sig. It runs on all hboots.

I found the thread for that ROM but the links are no longer available.
I cannot find another ROM that is able to boot on 1.36.

What rom are you after. All roms run on your hboot !
Does the top of your bootloader say :
Endeavouru ?
If so check here in the android dev & original android dev section for a rom......there are plenty

Problem

Hello, my problem is that I updated my phone's Hboot, but my phone is S-ON and I updated it but it needed S-OFF. Now when I Turn it on it gets stuck on the Boot. Please help me! Thanks alot
Well since you updated your hboot have you flashed a Sense JB ROM? Because there would be absolutely no point in upgrading hboot if you're not going to be using a Sense JB ROM.
Don't worry about the S-OFF stuff, you don't need it.

have you tried restoring a nand back up with your custom recovery ?
sounds like you are stuck in boot loop, fast boot erase cache should work if the nand back up will not flash ( restore )

If the hboot didn't stick its relatively easy..take everything back to stock..or just update recovery again
Try various Roms...some can just simply be a pain in the ass

[Q] Correct Boot.img For HBoot 1.39?

First off, sorry for posting here, I'd like to post in the actual rom thread but I don't have 10 posts yet.
I've installed the avatar rom, its getting to the custom splash screen and then freezing.
This is normally a boot.img problem.
The thing is just I've updated my HBoot to 1.39 and I don't know what boot.img files are compatible.
I've flashed several boot.img files from various roms I've used before, but none seem to be working.
The last comment in the avatar thread is this :
If you're on the new hboot you need a special boot.img that is everywhere on the forums.

Does anybody have any idea where I can find this boot.img that is everywhere on the forums?
Because I can't find it....
You just flash the boot image from within the Rom zip file?
I do that with every other Rom I've tried. I have no idea if/why that Rom requires a special boot.img.

Because some ROMs are incompatible with newer hboots.
@OP
See attachment. I am assuming that a modded boot for CM10 does the trick since Avatar is heavily based on CyanogenMod. Let me know if it works.
You must always use the boot.img supplied in ROM.zip. If you flash ROM A and then use boot.img from ROM B, it ain't going to work.
At the moment you need a special boot.img with nearly all 4.1.x AOSP ROMs, with a new hboot version. With 4.2.x ROMs you don't need any tinkering just flash and go.
Thanks for the modded boot.
Yes dude.
It works.
You awesome genius bastard you.
My pleasure!
It might be worth noting that GPS is broken with this boot. No workaround yet, you need to flash an Android 4.2 ROM if you really need to use it.
Haha dude, spent 3 hours trying to get this ONTO my phone.
I think it'll stay for at least a day or two...
Thanks again.
I need help to recover
Hi,
I am new to rooting, I've unlocked my HTC One X, and have backed up the stock rom through the recovery nandroid, I've flashed the Renovate 1.1 ROM, then I've decided to go back to stock ROM, when I've done it I would be stuck on Airplane mode, and this happened when I first tried to flash the renovate without flashing the boot.img that comes with it...when I've flashed the boot.img the problem is solved...so now I need help getting the boot.img file for the backed up stock rom...any ideas where I can start from?

[Q] flashed One V boots once but gets stuck in boot loop on reboot

Hi I have a HTC One V. I just got it from China (I'm in Australia). It worked great when it arrived stock but I went straight ahead and rooted it, loaded TWRP_2.6 and installed a custom ROM - and no I didn't backup a god damn thing.
I now have a problem, when I load the ROM and flash the kernel the phone will boot once but never reboot, it always gets stuck at the 'quietly brilliant' screen.
do you think this has something to do with my HBOOT version? or maybe the fact that the phone is S-OFF?
I've searched and searched for the answer
some advice would be great!

Don't use TELUS_WWE that's Canada. Use hTC Asia HK 2.24.708.1, since it's from China.
I don't think it's the hboot either, other people have the same hboot and they are able to boot.
Try flashing the kernel after flashing the ROM
Edit: Lucky you with S-OFF O.O

Thanks for your help. Flashing the kernel after the rom lets me boot once into the new rom but not reboot.
I checked my CID it is set to 11111111 Maybe that is an issue?
Cant seem to get any rom to work more than once.
I tried RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_h_TC_Asia_HK_2.24.708.1_Radio_20.76.30.08350_3831.19.00.120_release_276653_signed and followed the instructions on the link below to stock the phone. The process went well however the phone doesn't recognise my Australian SIM (3three). Where as the myONE rom did.
Any suggestions?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706070
I just booted into bootloader and did a factory reset, when the phone restarted it recognised the SIM. Maybe the SIM needs to be inserted before the first boot?
Would like to try out some other ROMs if anyone has suggestions on how to do this.

I'd say try some other ROMs with the sim inserted on first boot, and flash the boot.img after flashing the ROM.
Even though you have S-OFF i'm sure there is no kernel in the zips you flash, so get a boot.img out and connect the phone in fastboot, and use fastboot flash boot boot.img
I think you're using fastboot boot boot.img

If he's S-OFF, can't any of advanced devs instructed him to get files needed to make our HOVs S-OFF?
Anyway fluxobject, if you want to try another ROM I propose U Ignorance. It needs Titanium-Kiss kernel. To download it, click download, then choose boot-TK-USB-201305210014 (i think it's the best choice... that second version of kernel with "OC" in name is overclocked to 1,496 Ghz and Undervolted in "stock")... As I see in your 1st post you know the rest of flashing kernel & ROM procedure
Type fastboot flash boot boot.img not fastboot boot boot.img..

You don't need SuperSU, cause Android Revolution is a rooted ROM.

You said you rooted it with supersu, but that shouldn't be a problem, cause when you wiped everything and flashed a new ROM. It should be clean.
Do you flash the boot.img from the flashed ROM? And doesn't it give your errors?
Have you tried another ROM? Maximus is also close to stock.
