[Q] Severly Messed Up Phone Need Immediate Help - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello everyone, I have a very big problem. Yesterday as I was trying to install a ROM on my phone something terribly wrong happened. I must have hit a button when not looking or something because currently I am stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen and it just keeps on coming up. I can get into ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.5. When looking into my sdcard, everything is gone. No files what so ever. One of my ideas was to buy a SD Card adapter for my computer and install the ROM that way. Problem is that an error comes up saying "Can't Mount /external_sd/ My flight leaves tomorrow and I really need to get this phone working. I have tried so much but nothing is working! Thank You in advance!

Did u try the sd card adapter?

Will do then will post update after. Thank You.

Try downloading odin on comp then download drivers for phone and flash a stock rooted .tar or md5 rom it works it happened to me already u can find at galaxynote2root.com

push a rom via adb on your storage.

yea if you cant get anything to mount on the SD card you might have to ODIN back to stock.
If you can get any ROM on the SD CARD you just have to factory wipe and reset and flash the zip and you should be out of your bootloop.

Ok I have downloaded the drivers and Odin. My computer recognizes that the device is a Samsung Android and it also shows that the drivers are isntalled. Only problem is Odin will not recognize the phone. Is there something wrong with Odin or something else?

Are you putting the phone into download mode before hooking up? Volume Down/Home/Power button..Odin you have to have phone in download mode.

How to recover from Brick

Simple write up for now...simplicity is the key here....
and let me explain first what I did...flashed a rom using rogue recovery on Caulkins ICS 1.6 I think...
things I tried and did not work...
*zimage script for windows copied went through...but did not work considering system was M.I.A. and SU wasnt present to finish the job...
*hold down button does not bring you into download mode as expected...
HOWEVER...if it seems all you can manage to do is boot into the rogue recovery and the sd cards and backups are all whacky...then you my friend still have a option....use ADB COMMANDS while connected in recovery mode...
adb reboot download
and your phone should now be in download mode...
p.s.-if this has been covered already please disregard and be on your way i suppose...otherwise if this has helped you please hit the thanks button XD
Don't think this will work from a hard brick.
BUT
Even though you can get into download mode, doesn't mean anything you try to Odin will work. It'll stall at data.img or something similar.

You try enabling USB debugging in developer options?
If that don't work, try:

why is this in development? and how is that different than pulling the battery and reinserting it and holding vol down + power?
this is in the stickies and super basic knowedge...
mmk
everyone must have MISTAKEN ME...
I COULD NOT...to save my life get into download mode via holding vol down button...nor would it boot...
nor am I a noob at any of this...
there was nothing on the phone but a borked recovery...
the one from ics roms (rogue I think) ...I did the stupid and flashed a rom while using rogue...
and wiped...my phone completely bricked...
no download no nothing...
took me a hour...but then I realized as long as there is recovery I should still have adb.
and yes it actually took in odin...my phone is been running perfect stock for last couple of days now...
downloaded modem and data.img with no problems...
sorry I wasn't quick on the reply but guys come on...
I know the sticky is there...this was a complete different situation than anything I seen in the sticky...
and also putting anything on SD card and trying to either flash or restore would not work seeming the sd cards in the recovery are backwards...emmc reads sd card...and vice-versa...
so thanks for the know-it-all guys who didn't read saying I COULDNT GET INTO DOWNLOAD MODE and I wouldnt of posted it if it didn't work....

like stated above go to settings< applications< development< usb debugging check on
if that still doesn't work...then I suggest checking to see if the proper drivers are installed.

this still doesnt make sense.. either your button is broken, or you werent doing it right..
also, if you can adb into recovery there are hundreds of ways to fix that problem, you are nowhere near bricked. you just have a messed up flash. if your sds are swapped and you cant get to them and flash, thats an error with the recovery, but you can still adb in and copy them to a place you can flash from. you can even flash directly from adb.. but nothing you did from add, nor recovery could restore your download mode. if you lose that you need a JTAG.

Hard Brick, Formatted Phone.

Hey Guys, so my sister formatted the root of the phone via windows and the sd card. I ran recovery menu to install a ROM and when i restarted my phone it bricked. No way to get it on or download mode or anything. When I connect it to odin it says "You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it" THen it says windows can't format drive. Any suggestions? Someone had similar problem but for their touchpad

If anyone can help, thanks!

When I plug in the phone via Linux it mounts 10 mob and opens billions of folders until my computer crashes. One folder is user data userdata1 random numbers etc.
It causes your computer to crash?

Yes, on windows it opens a window saying i need to format it, when I try it says it can't format the device. Via Linux, it opens tons of windows which crashes the computer. I have tried everything but can't figure out how to fix it. I'm thinking maybe a usb jig might turn it into download mode but we shall see. Any suggestions?
Have you tried opening Kies on your computer and selecting emergency firmware recovery? You should be able to enter your serial number and get back to stock.

Rom Manager most likely partitioned your INTERNAL SD Card instead. You'd have to Flash Root66 for Android 4.2 via Odin.

I was on the pac 4.4 nightly, had flashed new nightly updates regularly for nearly a month with no problems, but then decided to switch to cm11, when I tried to flash that it gave me the bootloader error, so I went to the method that was a supposed fix for that and flashed it and thats when it went dead.
Same Problem
Hey guys I have the same exact problem heres how it started, which I think accurately describes everyone else with the same problem:
1) I downloaded the correct TWRP for my phone and unlocked it previously with ODIN.
2) So far everything is fine, now I find a nice new ROM which is stable and try to flash it. The rom was: FlashingDroid_S5_v2.2
3)First I deleted cache and dalvic cache as well, basically the default wipe.
4) I flashed the ROM and it said it was succesful, I click reboot, and nothing
Symptoms
1)No vibration
2)No screen image whatsoever
3)No signs of booting up with computer
4) Does not boot up using JIG method
5)Computer does not see phone
Notes
1) I tried checking the pulse of the phone W/out battery and gave me very little wattage, and eventually it drained out
2) Then I tried plugging it into my computer and the front red light went on but no power in phone and PC cannot see it
3) Sometimes when I put the battery in, it gives me a quick flash, from the flashlight on the back, OR it gives a millisecond of a vibration
4)Before I flashed I had android 4.3 Jellybean stock with root-again I tried to flash FlashingDroid_S5_v2.2 w/TWRP
Trials to resolve in which did NOT work
1) I tried putting it into download mode, with JIG but no battery and had someone put the battery in WHILE i was pressing HOME+POWER+VOLUME DOWN with the JIG
Results: It sometimes gave me a small vibration, but no results
2) Tried to install correct ODIN and KIES software
Result: Gave me negative sound on laptop meaning it does not recognize device-it does not show up in My Computer either
Having the same issue.
I used the FlashingDroid_S5_v2.2 rom. Wiped the phone before flashing, the prompt said successful and rebooted.
Then nothing.
No response from charging, power, download mode... nothing.

Samsung Galaxy S III Black Screen

Hello I need help with my phone, can't find a solution. What I tried to do was to install new ROM to my phone. I wiped cache, dalvick cache and nothing else. Tried to install the new ROM but it showed me a error "Status 7" and showed "Installation aborted". Then I rebooted the phone and it asked me if I want to fix something, becouse its lost , but I dont remember what. I clicked Yes, my sreen went black. I pulled the battery out and now, I cant start it, the phone doesn't vibrate when I push the power button I can't go into recovery. Doen't respond to anything It just stays black... Can you guys help me, please... I really don't know what I need to do.

So it appears on a com port in Odin? What stock ROM was on your phone before you flashed a custom ROM?
Yes but odin only says: <ID:0/004> SetupConnection.. and don't continue... I don't remember the ROM, but it was custom ROM. Do you think with SD card I can make it running? I got a SD card, got the files, but don't know how to transfer the files to the SD card, becouse I don't have adaptor to my PC... Can anyone make the card, copy the files and send them to me, so I just move them to my SD card and give it a try?
So the phone does show up in Odin on a com port? Can you post a screen shot of the Odin screen after you try flashing?
What does your phone say when in download mode?
What ROM are you trying to flash in Odin?

I see the phone is recognized in Odin on Com 4 which leads me to believe it is in download mode. When you connected the phone to your computer, did you see anything on the phone's screen?
It may be failing because you are trying to flash a 4.1.1 bootloader onto your phone which may have a 4.3 or 4.4.2 bootloader. Do not check the re-partition option and try Odin 3.07.
Odin v3.07 doesnt recognise it.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. If it doesn't appear in Odin 3.07, you may have to have the phone jtagged.
Okey guys my phone is working normaly now. When I installed the unbrick image on the SD card it booted from it, managed to make it to download mode, but I had problems with odin. So I just put the last ROM i was with. I pushed the power button clicked restart -> recovery and from then I installed the ROM , but the problem still remained. THe phone was booting only with the SD card, so I looked for bootloader, downloaded it, put it on the phone and bam everything was okey then. Thanks for all who helped me with this, hope this post will help to other guys with bricked phones

HELP Note II stuck on splash screen

Dear all. I have a note II that has gone wild. The phone was working fine but then I received a note 4 and put the note 2 aside. Then I was trying to install root and was able to do so by installing TWRP V2.8.3 and everything went smooth and the phone was rooted. I then used the phone for a while but switched to the note 4 after. Now, 5 months after, I wanted to check something on my olde note II. I charged the phone and switched it on but it was stuck on the Galaxy note II screen I rebooted then rebooted but still the same. I went in the TWRP recovery to try to do something but I was not able to because it says that it cant mount storage, cant mount efs, cant mount data, cant mount cache and cant mount system.
Then I have decided to install the firmware image from zipped file but that did not work as it sees that the internal and external storags are 0 and cant mount them.
Then I opted to try and install the firmware PDA through Odin but that also did not work as Odin was not able to detect the phone. Now I'm clueless and not sure what to do the only thing I'm able to do is boot in TWRP recovery and that is all. Can any one help.
My phone had the latest official rom from samsung the 4.4.2
Please help
classic, just search. there is a thread with tutorial how to get your n2 back to life. you could also have sds, but try different odin and flash with pit
Ok now I'm in a worse situation. I have managed to get to the download mode and connected it to ODIN and tried to flash with the stock rom but at the end of the writing process it failed and started to get a message on the phone to connect my device to kies and try again. I tried that but did not do anything. Then I tried Odin again but this time I unticked the auto reboot. then clicked start. The same thing happened as before and writing failed now though my phone is blank it does not show anything and it does not want to turn on and no LED that is turning on nor the charging icon. I searched the net and someone suggested that the battery is damaged. I replaced the battery but still no go. Please I really need to get that phone back alive. I think I bricked it. any ideas or directions to help me with this annoying case. I cant even boot to recovery nor download please help

As I said when I remove the battery and insert it back the phone remains blank no response to any button pressed.
What I did is that my phone was stuck on opening screen samsung screen. Then someone suggested to flash it with the stock rom. So I went to Sammobile site and downloaded the latest firmware. I tried to install it to my phone using ODIN and just before the end. ODIN failed. I tried it the second time and the same happened. then the third time I read that I have to untick auto reboot. I did and tried ODIN for the 3rd time and on the third trial I got the same fail message and then I wanted to boot into download mode for the forth time but this time the phone went dead and not responding to any button press. I hope that this explains the situation

No worries bro. At least you are trying. I have never seen this before either and I'm stumped and where I'm I dont think I can find any samsung pro shop. All what they are going to say is the motherboard is dead and you need to change it. I do have another phone but I hate it when a devise does this to me
