Hard Brick, Formatted Phone. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey Guys, so my sister formatted the root of the phone via windows and the sd card. I ran recovery menu to install a ROM and when i restarted my phone it bricked. No way to get it on or download mode or anything. When I connect it to odin it says "You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it" THen it says windows can't format drive. Any suggestions? Someone had similar problem but for their touchpad
forums.webosnation(dot)com/hp-touchpad/312465-windows-cant-read-usb-drive-2.html //I know, i just need to post it.
If anyone can help, thanks!

What ROM did you flash? Factory reset the phone before flash?

I used the dark scripts to format the phone. I've never had an issue till now.

When I plug in the phone via Linux it mounts 10 mob and opens billions of folders until my computer crashes. One folder is user data userdata1 random numbers etc.

It causes your computer to crash?

Yes, on windows it opens a window saying i need to format it, when I try it says it can't format the device. Via Linux, it opens tons of windows which crashes the computer. I have tried everything but can't figure out how to fix it. I'm thinking maybe a usb jig might turn it into download mode but we shall see. Any suggestions?

Have you tried opening Kies on your computer and selecting emergency firmware recovery? You should be able to enter your serial number and get back to stock.

Thanks.

Did you look for the serial number under the battery?

Rooting/Update gone wrong

I am in need of major help.
My brother attempted to root and update my phone to the leaked ICS fd16. All was going well until the usb cable accidentally disconnected and now I'm stuck with a partial update and only keep on getting a "firmware has encountared problem" message. It will allow me to go into download mode but it won't let me get into the recovery screen to run a full factory reset.
I can't run an emergency firmware recovery through Kies since there aren't any backup files. Not only that but now my phone can't be recognized through my macbook.
I have attempted to use the usb cable that came with the phone as well as another HTC cable I had in hand from a previous model I owned.
I don't want to take it to Sprint yet since it was my fault that we even attempted this modification and I was even told that Sprint wont be able to replace my phone right then and there for another phone.
I'm going out of town on Monday so ordering a jig or sending it mobiletech is not an option. Any help right now would truly be appreciated.
THANKS
As long as you can get into download mode you are OK. Just download any rom tar to your computer and odin it to your phone in download mode. Should fix it.

Hard Bricked MY GS2 Needing help

Hi guys what my phone is currently doing is when ever i plug it into the computer it says disk needs to be formated but it kicks off every 2-3 seconds it does that and it just generates a bunch of format windows on my comp. the phone does not turn on, does not go to into recovery nor does it try to boot tried these steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359 and more but does nothing except for when i plug the phone into the computer it starts doing what i have described above.
thanks for looking and any information is greatly appreciated.
That sounds like a hard brick for sure. How did it happen? Looks like jtag or warrenty or insurance claim is your only solution.

What happened to cause this issue did you try to root or flash a rom, phone will not go into recovery or download mode?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
i had recently updated the recovery because the old one kept acting up and this one did as well like it would take for ever and when i would try to clear the cache it would just be there and do nothing only way was to remove the battery and put it back on but this time i tried to do a format instead of just cache cleaning to get a fresh install but it just never turned back on it had been trying to format for a half hour so i thought that was enough time hmm im wondering how that warranty would go cause the phone is in mint condition.
What did you update it to? And how?

I am having an exactly same issue. I can't turn on the phone, cannot connect to ODIN because when I connect it PC, the DISK FORMAT messages keep popping up. seeking for an solution very bad. If anyone, know how please helppp, I will be very appreciated.
If the phone responds to a charging cable in the wall socket I don't believe it is bricked. And you said it does respond to your computer in some way. Have you tried getting it into download mode and flashing a stock rom? When I had a captivate I thought it was hard bricked but I got it into download mode with a usb jig (my particular captivate did not have 3 button combo to download mode) and used Odin to flash a stock rom and went from there.

[Q] SamSung Galaxy Gio - Odin flash trouble may be bricked

I had just unrooted my android in order to solve storage memory issue, because i didn´t rooted my Android using clockwork mod, I simply used a Rar that I place in the SD card called RootGalaxyGio that granted me the root the easy way. I unrooted my mobile yesterday and wiped data/ restore factory settings. The problem that I encountered was that I lost wi fy connectivity om my Android. Tried everything. So I decide to flash it via Odin_Multi_Downloader_v4.42. I download the GIO_v1.0.ops and the "one package" S5660XXKTK_S5660TCLKT1_TCL_vodafone.
Odin went on for 30 minutes to try to install the firmware and it wasn´t budging, so in my despair and ignorance I unplugged it. My Gio doesn´t start, shows an icon simbolizing a broken connection between the computer and the android, yet the download mode still functions. I don´t know what went wrong I follow all the steps in the tutorial I read. I´ve tried 4 times to flash it with odin and a first problem that occured in the first place repeats it self.
Can anyone help me sort this trouble out or will I have to try my luck with samsung?
Flashing gio with odin should take only 5 minutes? have you taken out sd card and your sim card before flashing? did you get any message like <Added!!> after you connected your phone to pc while in download mode? if you still can access download mode then you still got chance and be sure you got drivers installed to pc
Some computers can't flash with Odin, try another computer. The same thing happened to me while using the family computer with Odin, it didn't work. But on my own it works fine.

I did all the procedures, no SD card, no sim card. It did show added on odin. The android was detected. I had usb samsung mobile driver installed. The only thing I didn´t have was kies. I thought that the usb driver was enough. Could the issue have happened due to that?
Should I keep on trying to fix my droid with Odin or switch to unbrickable methods?

You were right the problem was my laptop. The funny thing is that I switched from my house HP laptop to my work HP laptop, that has inferior hardware, and it solved my issue. Did it all with Odin, didn´t have to resourt to unbrick software...

[Q] Severly Messed Up Phone Need Immediate Help

Hello everyone, I have a very big problem. Yesterday as I was trying to install a ROM on my phone something terribly wrong happened. I must have hit a button when not looking or something because currently I am stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen and it just keeps on coming up. I can get into ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.5. When looking into my sdcard, everything is gone. No files what so ever. One of my ideas was to buy a SD Card adapter for my computer and install the ROM that way. Problem is that an error comes up saying "Can't Mount /external_sd/ My flight leaves tomorrow and I really need to get this phone working. I have tried so much but nothing is working! Thank You in advance!
Did u try the sd card adapter?

Try downloading odin on comp then download drivers for phone and flash a stock rooted .tar or md5 rom it works it happened to me already u can find at galaxynote2root.com

push a rom via adb on your storage.
yea if you cant get anything to mount on the SD card you might have to ODIN back to stock.
If you can get any ROM on the SD CARD you just have to factory wipe and reset and flash the zip and you should be out of your bootloop.
Ok I have downloaded the drivers and Odin. My computer recognizes that the device is a Samsung Android and it also shows that the drivers are isntalled. Only problem is Odin will not recognize the phone. Is there something wrong with Odin or something else?
Are you putting the phone into download mode before hooking up? Volume Down/Home/Power button..Odin you have to have phone in download mode.

Even though its the same phone?
Ok installed the drivers in the back to root guide.. I plugged my other verizon samsung galaxy nexus into my computer and it saw it, I plugged my new one in and it does not recognize it...Im confused as to what could be going on..The reason I got another one was because i got it for a pretty good deal since my first one has a cracked screen...
What could be going on with my new one that my pc wont see it? How could I get it rooted and flash a rom to see if this could fix it?

No go with different cable and computer...It shows that its charging to the pc,but it will not recognize it....when i put my sim card in it links up to verizon and shows 4g. Im wondering if whoever had it before may have flashed something and messed something up....Im wondering is there a way to upload a rom (verizon) and twrp to dropbox and download it and root it that way and see if that fix the issue...Is there anything in the stock rom that could be missing that could cause this issue?
been looking for a .tar file of cwm to upload to drop box and download it and flash it with mobile odin since my pc cant recognize my Nexus and then download su from drop box reboot to recovery and then flash a verizon rom and see if that fix the issue...Is that sounding like a good plan or not?
SOLVED!!!!!! I figured I would try and swap my usb parts out and that was the culprit....So, it would charge but not allow the pc to see it.....
Thanks for the advice guys
