Ive installed cyanogenmod 7.2 download version and every well, except that when I use S2e to move application to sdext. I follow the steps but it sometimes cannot show the ext. However, I think s2e is working coz Ican see the sdext folder in root explorer. Strange!

Check s2e settings...reboot and then your able move your apps.
Cheers.
What format is your ext part.
And this sdext folder is without s2e already there.
Sent from my MT15i
I think no problem with the s2e settings, just tick all the squares, reboot manytimes. Sometimes, if I haven't tick any square, the EXT will show it's capacity,eg. 850M
I already tried ext2,3 and 4.

Hello to all
I hope you can help me out because I'm at the point of throwing my wildfire S. ..
Here's the problem:
I recently unlocked my official procedure htcdev wildfire s
So far so ok.
Then I put a cooked rom "mod sense" seems to be the "MIX" from xda developers downloaded and installed both app2sd that link2sd.
Obviously, I blindly followed the guides that relate to the partitioning of the sd in ext 2 and ext 3.
Unfortunately, the phone's internal memory of 150MB is always, and now I am left with about 9mb.
How can a phone that cost the beauty (January 2012) of 250.00 € has an internal memory so limited?
Also, I set so that I link2sd linking directly to the sd what I download, but despite that sometimes I have trouble downloading app "heavy".
What can I do?
Hey there I used to face this problem as you, what you have to do is uninstall link2sd and open the terminal and right in it the following :
su
Then hit enter it will give you access as a super user then type:
a2sd cachesdreset
Now it will move all your dalvik-cache to the ext partition
And you will have around 90 mb free on your internal
Hit thanks if it helped you

Hi!!! Very Very thanx for your answer!
Any question 4 : "SU" = Super User ?
a2sd cachesdreset is an app that i will download from play store?
P.S.: Is this the only one method for increase internal memory?
su = super user and you dont need to download anything to execute that command, if you flash a rom with a2sd then you can use the command to increase internal memory

Welcome
su yes its a super user
For the a2sd cachesdreset its a command that you write in the terminal but to make it easier for you go to the play store and download an application called a2sdgui then open the application the second tab Dalvik just press on move it will reboot after it don't worry and it will take sometime to boot as well for the first time after that your internal memory is great and I think its the best way to increase internal memory

all data will be installed in SD card Ex4 partition so no need to increase memory. No problem for u
so i have been removing unwanted system apps with apps2sd, but i havent gotten barely any storage back? So i looked in the manage apps section of ROM toolbox and found that under system apps there is system storage, and under internal there is internal storage. Is there any way to merge the two to get more space?

Yea you have to make 2 partitions one is fat32 and the other is ext2 but back everything on the memory card first

My 2GB SD Card has 3 partitions, the 1st is FAT(810mb), the 2nd is EXT2(510mb), and the 3rd is SWAP LINUX(512mb). When I typed the command above I saw a couple options checked in square brackets:
[x] No a2sd.swap environment variable found
[x] Problem detected: Darktremor Apps2SD may not have ran
[x] EXT partition is not mounted. Cannot continue.

How do I see my ROM?
I downloaded the app as you said and looks like it is working now, but when I press the "Swap is deactivated!" button in the first tab, it doesn't turn on. I formatted my 2SD card in CWM
EXT Partition: 512MB
SWAP: 256
Now , back on my PC, it shows that my card has only 1.12GB size. I don't know how to put my swap to work. Any idea would be great appreciatted.
Completely Format the SD card.. with any LLF(Low level Format) tools. It Just erase the partition Info and make it fresh. then Just use Partition manager such as Minitool, Easus partition to create FAT, ex3 or ex4, the swap. Then do the same process.

I formated only the last partition, which is the swap partition, using Mini Tool Wizard Partition Home Edition, and it still not working. I am afraid to format the whole card because I don't know how to recover all the apps that I already downloaded and installed. Would you know to do it? I got a back up in my PC hard drive. Only moving the files into back the card is not enough because I can't see it in my phone.

Can I change my ROM and install a better one? Which ROM should I use? is there any tutorial?
There aren't tutorials on what ROM you might choose. There is probably a sticky that list the ROMs with links to threads. You can go to the various threads, read, and make an informed choice... Or keep asking for ppl's opinion. You will find ROMs vary and you may prefer one for say the pretty widgets; Another might want a minimalist ROM. Not really a best rom; there is only what you feel is best for you.

Hey guys,
I'm using Android 2.3.5 with Sense 2.1 (stock rom) and added Link2SD to my rooted phone some time ago. At first I was glad I had about 50mb of internal storage left after I moved all (!!!) linked every app to my SD-card. I don't know how, but the internal storage shrinked more and more and now I'm left with 10mb of free storage and that annoying message, that I'm running out of memory. I tried some cache cleaning apps but I just don't know what's eating up all of my memory!
Any ideas?
greetings
Link2sd leaves stuff in internal memory. My little wfs became a wonderful phone after I s-offed and rooted it, but then installed some custom roms, and some of which had A2SD built in. I installed all my apps and still had 75mb of free memory.
I am currently running CM9, and I used a custom script to move my apps and cache to my SD card. I have 123 MB of memory now. It's terrible

After failing to get simple2ext to work, and having Link2SD eat my SD card mutliple times, I was just about ready to give up on CM9 when I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668247
Since then, my CM9 Alpha 7 install ahs been working very well. I could not be more pleased.
BTW: If you do run those scripts on an existing ROM (without Link2SD, Data2SD, or simple2ext, just do steps 1 and 2)

I don't know much about Link2SD, as i could never get it to work, but... I'm thinking if you move everything back to internal memory, and uninstall the startup scripts that mount the SD card, you should be able to run the scripts I used. I would make a full backup of my ROM before trying anything like that though. Ya never know...
You can try the following.
1. Go to link2sd. Clear cache, relink lib files and multi select anf link all.
2. Get titanium backup and integrate davlik cache into rom.
3. Enable auto link in link2sd.
4. Reboot.
Im using link2sd wid a lot of apps and have internal storage 60+ mb all the time.
Also uninstall any crap system apps you dont use because they'll just fill the internal memory.

First flash eoghan's kernel on stock ROM which enables using of different scripts and link2SD..then partition SD card and flash the script or use link2SD as always..
And make sure you have a backup..
P S Instead of flashing the above you can also install crossfire's stock ROM or other stock based ROMs which have init.d support I.E you can partition SD card and install scripts and other stuff... Your options are Kimsmod ultimate, Wildchild or crossfire's stock ROM.

You terrible WRONG!!! Link2SD do the job correctly, learn it! and Internal Storage remains unused-free! When link an app, in Storage Info looks Internal Storage raised but when you make Quick Reboot Internal Stoage seems like a nothing get in there! |So! I search for days to finaly suffix the best to free Internal Storage without any mod file|
I make Factory data reset and device come back with ~30mb Internal Storage, i partition sd card and install Link2SD, mount 2nd partition. Install any app, Create link Quick Reboot and go on!!
Best Regards
XDA DEVELOPERS
There is something better than Link2sd
Something better is called [INT2EXT] and it has requirements:
1.Init.d Supported in ROM
2.SD Card Partition
how to install:
1.Wipe everything and
2. Re-partition SD Card
3. Re-flash ROM
4. Install the zip using CWM
to download the scripts (INT2EXT) please head here
Do not forget to press Thanks
Hey everyone,
I have recently rooted and S-OFF my HTC Desire, using Revolutionary.
I have partitioned my SD card and installed Mounts2SD application from Google Play store. Busybox and Init.d seem to be configured ok but still, Mounts2SD doesn't seem to work and I can't get my applications to use the 1GB partition off memory that I have dedicated on my SD card.
Some help would be much appreciated!!

1. How did you partition your sd-card?
2. Did you configure m2sd correctly?
3. Are you one of those guys who think that the internal memory itself will be larger, thus expecting to see "1148 mb" of internal storage in settings? You will still see 148 mb, but the partition will be there, doing its job.
4. What did you move to sd-ext? Try moving app and dalvik cache.
Hello,
1. To partition my SD card, I booted the phone in recovery and I partitioned it from there. And I know it's done because my SD's memory is now 1GB less.
2. All the boxes in m2sd application are checked. It doesn't let me change anything.
3. I didn't expect to see the internal memory larger.
4. From what I read, I thought that after m2sd is configured, it will move the applications itself to sd-ext. So by still seeing 126/148MB of my internal memory occupied, I suppose this didn't happen. How can I move an app manually??

Ok. That explains it. Your sd-ext wasn't done properly. Check my guide for correctly partitioning your sd-card :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37383522#post37383522
Then use the mounts2sd flashable zip. It's safer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387
I have followed your guidelines and installed 4Ext recovery. Then i partitioned my SD card with that and i installed m2sd using the flashable zip.
Then still m2sd not working and i'm still getting the annoying low space notification. So i installed FreeSpace and it seems like i don't have an ext partition. The only things it shows there are:
- Cache 40MB
- Data 147MB
- SD-card 2731MB
- System 250MB
My SD card is 3.66GB. So from that, the conclusion is that the partition was created but the system cannot access it..?? What could be wrong?? How should i proceed? Just try to partition the SD again??
Thanks a lot

Yes, partition your sd-card again.
1gb goes to your sd-ext. It's normal for freespace to show 2731 mb.
For some reason my phone couldn't access SD-ext, even if it was partitioned correctly and in recovery it could see it. So i wiped everything and istalled a new ROM. Now it works perfectly!
Thanks a lot for the assistance!
