Hello to all
I hope you can help me out because I'm at the point of throwing my wildfire S. ..
Here's the problem:
I recently unlocked my official procedure htcdev wildfire s
So far so ok.
Then I put a cooked rom "mod sense" seems to be the "MIX" from xda developers downloaded and installed both app2sd that link2sd.
Obviously, I blindly followed the guides that relate to the partitioning of the sd in ext 2 and ext 3.
Unfortunately, the phone's internal memory of 150MB is always, and now I am left with about 9mb.
How can a phone that cost the beauty (January 2012) of 250.00 € has an internal memory so limited?
Also, I set so that I link2sd linking directly to the sd what I download, but despite that sometimes I have trouble downloading app "heavy".
What can I do?
Hey there I used to face this problem as you, what you have to do is uninstall link2sd and open the terminal and right in it the following :
su
Then hit enter it will give you access as a super user then type:
a2sd cachesdreset
Now it will move all your dalvik-cache to the ext partition
And you will have around 90 mb free on your internal
Hit thanks if it helped you

Hi!!! Very Very thanx for your answer!
Any question 4 : "SU" = Super User ?
a2sd cachesdreset is an app that i will download from play store?
P.S.: Is this the only one method for increase internal memory?
su = super user and you dont need to download anything to execute that command, if you flash a rom with a2sd then you can use the command to increase internal memory

Welcome
su yes its a super user
For the a2sd cachesdreset its a command that you write in the terminal but to make it easier for you go to the play store and download an application called a2sdgui then open the application the second tab Dalvik just press on move it will reboot after it don't worry and it will take sometime to boot as well for the first time after that your internal memory is great and I think its the best way to increase internal memory

all data will be installed in SD card Ex4 partition so no need to increase memory. No problem for u
Related
so i post about a week and a half ago a thread about the fact that almost every app that i install is being installed to my internal memory instead the external memory.
so someone suggested me the app move2sd which allows you to choose where all the apps you download will be installed(whether its external or internal)
so i used it and works great all the app are installed at the external memory
but
most of the apps data and other stuff still being stored at the internal memory which i need free for the operator it self to work(the android and everything that connects to it)
so for that i did a partition when i reinstalled my rom
i did a partition of app2sd that it has like 500 mb for all the data of the apps and games but
for some reason it all goes to the internal memory that only have 140 mb and so i cant get any sms and i cant download anything.
btw i have miui rom if matters some how
plz help me its important
thx
Sounds like A2SD isn't working properly - if you go to Settings>System>SD card what does it say in there?
if u mean the space its saying then:
SD card :
11.19 GB free out of 14.32 GB
and the partition:
A2SD:
423 mb free out of 457 mb
plz can someone help with that i need help
Oxygen Hboot, Redux gingerbread rom, problem solved.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
can u explain what u wrote didnt understand anything
if you root your phone you can install a custom rom which comes with various advantages:
- no htc apps = more space
- ability to extend the phone's app space onto the sd card = much more space
- other/better ways to do app2sd = more space
I personally use ReDux RC6 and Im very happy with it. The process is not too complicated and well documented...
i already done it when i installed my rom
and i still dont have space on my internal memory
there is no way that i can do that all the data of the apps and games will also go to the sd card???
What you need to do is download the oxygen Hboot and apply it through fastboot, install redux rc6, and you should have about 295mb free for apps, which I find is plenty, look up some guides for S-off and table partitions changes there is plenty out there.

Hi,
I'm running Gingervillain on my Desire. Today I moved every app possible to SD. De total MB of these apps is around 50MB, I only gained 2MB by moving these apps. Seems weird, I know apps take some space on internal memory anyway but this seems a little much.
Is there any way too fix this or at least see what's eating my memory? I have 17MB free now, while 1 only have 4 apps on internal(and 82 on SD).

Stop moving apps manually on SD! They are moving automatically from the a2sd+ script. Also please post the partition info you see in the first page of titanium backup

A2SD+ moves all apps you install automatically to the ext partition on your sd card. If you press "move to sd" in application settings, they were moved to the fat32 partition of the sd.
Basically move all the apps to the phone then in terminal emulator write
Su
A2sd reinstall
Then it will reboot after movr all the apps to the ext partition

So, basically, when I install something no action is required with Gingervillian?
Oh, heres my TB first page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/5799539108/
You can test if a2sd+ is working on this way:
1.) Download connectbot from market
2.) Start it, choose "local", type any nickname and enter
3.) Enter
su
Click to collapse
and answer superuser request
4.) Now enter
ls -l /data
Click to collapse
Now you should see, the path for installation apps should have changed to /sd (like this: app -> /sd/app); if unsure, post screenshot.
If a2sd+ is working, you have to do no move actions.
If the problem persists then format sd card (both partitions), wipe all , reflash

Congrulations a2sd is working. To explain it: Standard path for apps the /data partition of your desire's internal memory. The symbol "->" means "was moved to".
So:
Standard partition + folder for apps: /data (internal memory) /app (folder in this internal partition)
was moved to (->)
/sd-ext (ext partition on sd card) /app (folder in this ext partiton)
It's the same with app-private (they belong together).
For you means this, all apps you install will be moved automatically to /sd-ext. You don't have to do anything.
I hope, this is understandable.
Thank you! TB restores will be on SD Ext too, I assume?
Yes. Restoring apps is nothing else than installing an app, merely and simply with user data.
I did what's explained on mattman's site, installed the terminal emulator and gave in those two commands.
http://www.mattman.org/index.php/ginger-villain/70-ginger-villain-internal-space

There is also an app in the market called app2sd, which allows you to quickly manage your apps/send to sd/clear cache and more. I used it as an app manager when I was in froyo, cause I found the android ones too laggy. It's a nice little tool

I am waiting too for somebody to tell us how to manage this problem and find a solution for it!
Cant we use a2sd in its replacement?

U need a rom with data2sd if u want unlimited memory
These kind of rom requires an extra partition on the sd card...So u have to partition the sd card in order to have one fat32 partition (where ur data like music, images, etc are stored) and one EXT4 partition of 1GB for example (all the apps and apps data will be moved automatically in this ext partition)..with this u don't need to move ur apps to the sdcard with the move to sd option.
after partitioning u can flash the rom..for example this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045824
read all the instructions in the thread, and make sure to understand how the data2sd work
K
Did you already create an ext partition on your sd card for the apps/data2sd?
Backup your SD card data to PC before start.
Boot to ClockworkMod Recovery
Use volume down button to go down to ‘advanced’.
Then press call button
.Select ‘Partition SD Card’.
Select the ext size that you want (128M, 256M, 512M, 1024M, 2048M or 4096M).
Select 0M as the Swap Size.
Copy back your data to SD card.
See if it then works

well mate,
you want to use sense3.... this sense works mostly with HD port from desireHD to desire.
there are different developer's rom presenting this into the development forum:
leedroid HD 3.3.3 r5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170633
there is a faq thread - howto - leedroid HD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226017
coolexe with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250815
those are the most stable rom... i could be wrong, other would correct if i m wrong.
in resume:
- root your device with unrevoked
- s-off your device (unlocked the security on bootloader) alpharev or revolutionnary could do the trick.
alpharev link => http://alpharev.nl/
bootloader resume:
Code:
the bootloader prepare you nand device to launch the system. In that purpose it would format 5 partition calles mtd.
mtd0: 00040000 00020000 "misc"
mtd1: 00500000 00020000 "recovery"
mtd2: 00280000 00020000 "boot"
mtd3: 04380000 00020000 "system"
mtd4: 04380000 00020000 "cache"
mtd5: 04ac0000 00020000 "userdata"
those modified when flashing a bootloader are system, cache and userdata in order to gain space for userdata (application)
from bootloader stock system = 250mb
cache =40 mb
userdata=147mb
from coolexe or leedroid rom it s advice to flash a bootloader called cm7r2 coz
system=145 mb
cache=5mb
userdata=287mb
those dev have been able to put a complete rom into 145 mb whilst the stock rom needs at lkeast 250mb. you understand that it would be a waste of precious mbyte space to our tiny device.
to do so they used several script to do so (data++, a2sd) it means you MUST have a partition sd card with
first fat32 (primary partition) followed by ext3 or ext4 (primary partition)
data++ uses symlink linux capabilities to point from system's folder to sd card's folder extX partition.
a2sd use linux power to forced installation app's to extX partition onto your sdcard aswell dalvikcache (it is responsible of growing amount of data when your 're looking to you internal available space).
all this have been widely explained into the faq howto thread leedroid
hope this help

Hey guys,
I'm using Android 2.3.5 with Sense 2.1 (stock rom) and added Link2SD to my rooted phone some time ago. At first I was glad I had about 50mb of internal storage left after I moved all (!!!) linked every app to my SD-card. I don't know how, but the internal storage shrinked more and more and now I'm left with 10mb of free storage and that annoying message, that I'm running out of memory. I tried some cache cleaning apps but I just don't know what's eating up all of my memory!
Any ideas?
greetings
Link2sd leaves stuff in internal memory. My little wfs became a wonderful phone after I s-offed and rooted it, but then installed some custom roms, and some of which had A2SD built in. I installed all my apps and still had 75mb of free memory.
I am currently running CM9, and I used a custom script to move my apps and cache to my SD card. I have 123 MB of memory now. It's terrible

I don't know much about Link2SD, as i could never get it to work, but... I'm thinking if you move everything back to internal memory, and uninstall the startup scripts that mount the SD card, you should be able to run the scripts I used. I would make a full backup of my ROM before trying anything like that though. Ya never know...
You can try the following.
1. Go to link2sd. Clear cache, relink lib files and multi select anf link all.
2. Get titanium backup and integrate davlik cache into rom.
3. Enable auto link in link2sd.
4. Reboot.
Im using link2sd wid a lot of apps and have internal storage 60+ mb all the time.
Also uninstall any crap system apps you dont use because they'll just fill the internal memory.

Hi buddy...I had installed CM10 on my HTC wildfire & used Link2SD which was working good for the internal memory and applications part but had its own loops of data connection getting lost in between and wake up problem. This was irritating so i switched back to my Stock rom by CWM using Backup & restore. Now im glad to be back on my stock rom without all other problems but the problems of LOW INTERNAL MEMORY.
Is there really any way that i can properly install Link2Sd and make space free and have hell lot of apps just as i had when i was on CM10 ???
Please guide....i love having all my applications back...but on stock rom itself....please help.....

First flash eoghan's kernel on stock ROM which enables using of different scripts and link2SD..then partition SD card and flash the script or use link2SD as always..
And make sure you have a backup..
P S Instead of flashing the above you can also install crossfire's stock ROM or other stock based ROMs which have init.d support I.E you can partition SD card and install scripts and other stuff... Your options are Kimsmod ultimate, Wildchild or crossfire's stock ROM.

Hey guys,
I'm using Android 2.3.5 with Sense 2.1 (stock rom) and added Link2SD to my rooted phone some time ago.
Any ideas?
greetings

LINK2sd does not transfer app data to sd card....so when u use apps and they generate data and cache..it fills up your internal storage...i had the same problem.
i suggest you to use Int2ext script by cronmod...thy are fantastic!

You terrible WRONG!!! Link2SD do the job correctly, learn it! and Internal Storage remains unused-free! When link an app, in Storage Info looks Internal Storage raised but when you make Quick Reboot Internal Stoage seems like a nothing get in there! |So! I search for days to finaly suffix the best to free Internal Storage without any mod file|
I make Factory data reset and device come back with ~30mb Internal Storage, i partition sd card and install Link2SD, mount 2nd partition. Install any app, Create link Quick Reboot and go on!!
Best Regards
XDA DEVELOPERS
There is something better than Link2sd
Something better is called [INT2EXT] and it has requirements:
1.Init.d Supported in ROM
2.SD Card Partition
how to install:
1.Wipe everything and
2. Re-partition SD Card
3. Re-flash ROM
4. Install the zip using CWM
to download the scripts (INT2EXT) please head here
Do not forget to press Thanks
