Always try to stick to boot.img from rom.zip.
Try after flashing boot.img:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot

Or try a different rom. To check its not a faulty WiFi module ......

Keeps rebooting Ideas please!

Hi All,
I did the silly thing of flashing my phone with another boot.img and obviously forgot to extract the ROM to my phone but didn't realise this until after.
My problem is, the phone will get to the main menu with the sense ring and freeze and reboot.
I have tried looking everywhere for a fix but can't seem to find one Hope you all can help.
Kind regards
James

Thanks for your reply, I have flashed the boot image again (I didn't get to the stage of installing the new ROM so it's still at stock ROM but the boot.img is the part that is buggered, when you say flash the modules.
I have been trying to find the stock Boot.img but no luck nothing seems to be working, my son isn't going to be happy!
Get ARHD , your son will be happier XD

Did you flash the right one? There are two versions. An aosp version and a sense version and I think they're in 2 different threads.

For hboots greater than 1.23, you have to repack the zimage in the rom boot.img with a special ramdisk for those hboots prepared by mdeejay, available in the op of the official cm10 thread.

Yesterday i was in the same situation kinda, I was in bootloop and I couldn't even enter into CWM. All I did was following the instruction in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711000
Amazingly it says I have bricked kernel and I can swipe to wake .

Radio 1.00.00.0928

After a bunch of digging around these and other forums. It seems that there is not much that can be done with custom roms on the VM CDMA phone with Radio 1.00.00.0928 (other than the codefire X one)? I attempted to downgrade the radio version but ended up with a "HBOOT is older" error.
Thanks.
try these:

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
All of these ROM/KERNEL combinations seem end up causing reboot loops. If I flash the FOTA-Compatible Sick Kernel and the included boot.img it freezes at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen with the bootloader disclaimer.
Cheers.
Just use rhythmic ROM. It works fine for me

With what Kernel?
The one it comes with. Get rhythmic ROM 1.2D, get the OTA update. Zip and the 1.2e.zip. Flash the ROM, then ota update.zip then the 1.2e.zip. then fast boot flash the boot.IMG. if you do it in the right order. It will work. Trust me

So, today I flashed my original restored using CWM recovery and flashed my original kernel from there as well.
I then did a full wipe and installed AngryHTC and flashed the boot.img included with the ROM. ---> Reboot Loop.
I then flashed the boot.img from my CWM backup ( I assume this is the kernel ) ----> ROM boots but no wifi
I then flashed the FOTA kernel (which no longer includes a zip, only the boot.img) ---> Everything works
I honestly don't know why it wasn't working before, maybe the wrong combination of flashes or in the wrong order. I will try with some other ROMS when I get a bit of time to mess around with it.
It's great that there's this very helpful support system here.
Cheers.

yup so these are the steps I followed.
1) flashed the boot.img that I had in the nandroid backup
2) restored the backup
3) booted up completely
4) since touch screen doesn't work
5) restarted the phone went into recovery and installed the OTA
6) booted again and it got stuck
7) erased cache from fastboot -> no-go
Also I just checked couldnt find any boot.img in the OTA zip, dont know what im missing here

If you restored the sense 5 stock rom + boot.img it should be all oke. If not you could try another radio. That's not kernel related

thanx for letting me knw that it is not kernel related(sigh of relief)
but still, can you suggest some roms so that i'll try flashing their boot.img's!
You can try any rom if your hboot is supported. Receiving signal is something different from the signal strength.
The modules in the rom + the delivered boot.img are related to each other to make signal and bluetooth ...etc etc work.
So flash the boot.img from the rom, make a full wipe in recovery, install the rom. That way it should be all good on any rom.
