hey guys.
i'm having some problems with flashing the latest bricked-kernel ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895214 ).
after flashing the kernel in the recovery, i flashed the boot.img (extracted from the kernel.zip) in fastboot and erased the cache.
but now it won't boot. all i can see is the "htc - quietly brilliant" screen.
help please!

For hboots greater than 1.23, you have to repack the zimage in the rom boot.img with a special ramdisk for those hboots prepared by mdeejay, available in the op of the official cm10 thread.

That rom is for PrimoC is your phone the CDMA version or the PrimoU (GSM)?
If yours is a primoU then you cannot use the C's ROMS on your phone (will do exactly the same things you write down here). Try this instead. It is the same ROM just for GSM.

route A
have you got the custom kernel installed (titanium) if so remove it, as it's not compatible with CDMA phones, and flash the stock boot.img for the VM\CDMA phone...then reinstall a rom..
Route B
there could be something up with the custom rom so try this one out, http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...e-V-Stock-ROM-Deodex-Odex&p=236726#post236726

Hi,
I'm new to the ONE X, just switched from the Sensation. I've updated the firmware to 1.28.0000. I can instal all Sense ICS and JB ROMS with no issues but I want CM10, unfortunately I get stuck on the white HTC logo, even after flashing boot.img and erasing cache. What should I do, everything seems so much more confusing on this device!
Josh.
go to recovery and flash any sense based JB rom, Don't forget to flash the kernel through fastboot.
and if you want a working cm10 then you have to flash a kernel compatible with hboot 1.31.
but it has gps issue i guess.
search for the kernel in cm10 thread.. you will find it.
Alright, so I now have ARHD 13 installed and working fine. How should I go about installing a CM10 ROM without getting stuck? Thanks.
you need to flash the correct kernel. The one which comes with the rom would not work.
I guess its the mdeejay kernel which is working on hboot 1.31 but as i said gps is not working with it.

GPS isn't a biggie pour moi. Okay so when flashing a kernel, I need to flash the .zip first in recovery followed by flashing the boot.img in fastboot? Also I'm on hboot 1.28, not 1.31?

Unfortunately I am still stuck at the white HTC screen after repacking the NCX-0.99 kernel. I've also cleared the cache multiple times.
No, there is a custom kernel that works with hboot 1.28+cm10, I believe its somewhere in the dev section.

I have a similar problem, phone was working fine and then all apps and processes (com.android.process) all crashed. I tried to clear cache data of all programmes crashing and reboot but the problem persisted. I decided that a factory reset might fix the problem but now my phone doesn't get past the logo screen. Any suggestions one how to fix this would be great, I have insurance so should I just get a new phone? Thanks in advance.
Hi guys, I am very new to this community and this is my first post. So this is what happened:
I had my One X for about 4 months now, and I was starting to want something new so I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader everything went just fine. So I realized root isn't the only big thing you can do to tweak your device so I wanted to flash a custom ROM. I wanted to customize it so I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611349 to customize CMOD 10 based on Jelly Bean and flash it to my device. So I finished my custom ROM and wanted to flash it to my device. So I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 (post 2 only (of course)).
At first when I tried to flash my custom ROM I didn't make any backup because I had Titanium backup and I thought that it does the same thing as recovery backup (now I know it doesn't) so I don't have the stock ROM on backup. I was disappointed that the device won't boot, it only shows the boot screen "HTC quietly brilliant". And then I saw boot.img I didn't knew what to do with it so I read about it and found out that I need to flash the boot.img before I flash the ROM. So I deleted everything again and done it all over again, but I flashed boot.img that came with the CM 10 first and then flashed the ROM itself. I've done everything correctly and my device still won't boot. It's over 20 minutes and still showing the "HTC quietly brilliant" like before the boot.img.
What should I do and very much thanks for the helpers I don't want to lose my device. :crying:
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is my first android device.

Probably something went wrong when you customized it. What exactly did you do? Why not just download it as it is?
And when you talked about github.... you mean you built it from source?

I did built it form source. I got in a folder 3 files: 2 folders: system and META-INF 3rd file is boot.img.
I probably don't know what to put in update.zip (what folders) would you tell me?
I customized some colors, battery skin on the status bar and fonts. I also customized build.prop and added adrenaline script so I got another folder named "data".
could you tell me how to pack it all to update.zip? I guess my problem is that.
P.S. I also sign it after packing it to update.zip with auto-signer using java.
THX in advance!

After a bunch of digging around these and other forums. It seems that there is not much that can be done with custom roms on the VM CDMA phone with Radio 1.00.00.0928 (other than the codefire X one)? I attempted to downgrade the radio version but ended up with a "HBOOT is older" error.

So, today I flashed my original restored using CWM recovery and flashed my original kernel from there as well.
I then did a full wipe and installed AngryHTC and flashed the boot.img included with the ROM. ---> Reboot Loop.
I then flashed the boot.img from my CWM backup ( I assume this is the kernel ) ----> ROM boots but no wifi
I then flashed the FOTA kernel (which no longer includes a zip, only the boot.img) ---> Everything works
I honestly don't know why it wasn't working before, maybe the wrong combination of flashes or in the wrong order. I will try with some other ROMS when I get a bit of time to mess around with it.
It's great that there's this very helpful support system here.
Cheers.

The FOTA boot.img is for sense based ROMs and only works with the newest radio and hboot
