[Q] Cant seem to install CM10 :/ - HTC One X

- international HOX (endevouru)
- rooted and running viperX 3.3.9.1.1 ROM
- HBOOT 1.36
- ClockworkMod v5.8.4.0
- Bootloaded unlocked via HtcDev.com
- Using a Mac
So im bored of sense and i like AOSP so i thought, what better than CM10. Ive followed instructions from here: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/4...d42-jellybean-htc-onex-cyanogenmod10-cm10.htm
and from here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_endeavoru
and whenever i try to install the ROM, nothing happens, it just stays at the 'quietly brilliant' screen. I think this might be due to me unlocking the bootloader through HtcDev, but I'm not sure (it says on the CyanogenMod site that devices unlocked through HtcDev cannot flash kernels via recovery).
Does anyone know what to do?

Read here.....the only thing that is missing are the actual flash commands used on a mac
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207652
And yes , we can't flash kernels with the recovery. They have to be flashed with fastboot commands with the phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode

[Q] Rooting/Custom ROM Flushing - HTC Buzz (Wildfire) - To Identify the Problem

I've my Wildfire (no carrier attached) with below details.
ROM - Stock Froyo, 2.2.1
Kernel - 2.6.32.21-g6c55ee4
Software number - 2.25.720.1
HBOOT - 1.02.0000
S-ON
My objective
To have my device rooted and then flush a custom ROM.
What I did
1. Used a RUU from htcdev and ran it (file name "PC4910000_Buzz_Froyo_hboot_1.02.0000_R3")
2. Unlocked boot loader using the process mentioned in their website (now my phone shows "UNLOCKED" in volume rocker+power button start mode)
3. Used unrEVOked 3.2/reflash package to root my phone.
Now my problem
unrEVOked did not work. Because it does not support my HBOOT version.
I have tried with revolutionary before, with no other effect.
My Question
Apart from using a goldcard, can I use another WWE RUU to get HBOOT 1.01.0000?
It could have been better option for me!! Though, I could not find a RUU with HBOOT 1.01.0000.
Since you have already unlocked your bootloader you may be able to root your phone by using gingerbreak 1.2.
I personally installed Clockworkmod recovery then installed su through clockworkmod to root my phone.
I have unlocked my phone from htcdev website.
Can you please inform me of the process that I need to follow to install Clockworkmod recovery after that?
Note: I have tried with PC49IMG.zip and booting from Volume Down+Power Button. It hung for a long time showing "parsing the file".
I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21310836&postcount=22 information from 3xeno and used the Fastboot method and got clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0. (PC49IMG.zip method does not work)
Afterwords I made a nandroid backup from clockworkmod recovery. (just in case)
Then I downloaded http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip
and installed it from clockworkmod recovery to get root.

Well, the method you followed sounds good, and I tried it.
Somehow, my phone was not detected by "fastboot" ("fastboot devices" returned nothing, so the rest of the things failed).
I downgraded my HBOOT later with Goldcard, but now can't have any recovery as my phone is not detected.
Yippee!!! Revolutionary did it for me!!
Got S-OFF, HBOOT 6.01.002.
Now I'll flash custom ROM.
Thanks
Nice to know that you were successful.

[Q]Stuck at white htc screen

Hi there,
After unlocking my Desire HD with the official HTCdev bootloader unlock service I installed Clockwork 5.0.2.7111102. From here I installed SuperUser 2.3.6.3 and it seems I have root access.
Both through ROM Manager as manual through ClockWork I have tried to install several custom ROMs. I did wipe the user data beforehand etc. But after reboot every time it keeps hanging at the white HTC screen.
I havent made backup of previous version. My phone is stuck completly. I can do nothing but only new rom..
Can someone please help me with this issue? Many thanks!
Additional info:
S-On
HBoot 2.00.0029
Radio 26.14.04.28.M
Android 2.3.5
HTC sence 3.0
Software 3.12.405.1
Kernel 2.6.35.10-9931a37e
When you unlock using the HTC dev method you have to flash the boot.img separately.
Take the boot.img of whatever rom you want and flash it by running
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
For future reference the correct method is
1)flash rom in recovery
2)boot back into hboot and flash roms boot.img
4ext recovery has a new option of flashing boot.img when son all in the same step.(make it similar process to soff devices

You need to switch to S-OFF in order for flashing to be successful. Use this then once you boot into Hboot and see S-off, then you can try to flash the rom...

http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_One_X#Disaster_Recovery_-_what_to_do_in_the_event_of_a_bad_flash
please use better english next time. in your entire text, there are only two points and one question mark...
DON'T PANIC YOUR NOT BRICKED
Best thing to do would be to unlock your bootloader again at HTC dev .com.
Once unlocked flash custom recovery again and restore from a previous back up to yet the phone working.
This can all be done while you are in the bootloader screen. I had the same problem, and got mine sorted
I think the issue was that you didn't flash the boot.img of the new Rom before you locked the bootloader. Hence leaving you stuck and not booting.
Other than that best thing could be to download the correct .ruu version for your phone and install that from your computer and restore it to origial Rom and bootloader, the you have the option to update the hboot so that you can flash jellybean roms.
1. Either down load correct ruu and run.
To restore phone.
Or
1. Unlock your bootloader (HTC dev.com)
2. Install custom recovery
3. Restore from back up (if you made one) and of course flashing correct boot.omg of that back up Rom.
4. Flash new custom Rom with correct boot omg
At least your phone will be working.
Check the forum there are threads that detail several methods on how to update hboot to install jellybean.
But first get the phone to a working state.
Goodluck.

I am lost, need some help...

Hi..
I have been flashing roms for a few years now on a previous HTC Desire and now on my HTC One X.
All was well until today.
I decided to go for a JellyBean custom rom and flashed the .boot img in the wrong order. Due to my hboot version (1.28) I was ment to flash the boot.img first (but it never said this in the installation instructions, anyway...)
Basically, I got stuck in a boot loop and not able to get into recovery at all. I can only get into hboot / fastboot.
I have tried installing my stock RUU and relocking bootloader to get completely back to stock but keep getting an error due to the 1.28 hboot not being compatible with it.
I have working roms on my phone I can flash but I just cant get into CWM whatsoever, when I click on Recovery it just reboots itself. Can't install stock RUU.
What are my other options? Can I flash a rom some other way? I'm basically stuck in hboot/fastboot...
tldr;
stuck in hboot, can't get into recovery, stock RUU won't flash due to hboot version.
My phone was fully charged when I started 20 minutes ago.
Please help.
Thank you...:good:
EDDDDIITTTT::
Wow. Just RE-unlocked my bootloader and it rebooted itself straight into the custom rom I was trying to install. Strange!? All is well now.
Anyway, thanks for listening.

No need for doing S-OFF since this version of bootloader can be unlocked without it. If you really need it for something, the only solution I've seen so far is using XTC Clip device, google it.
First backup everything you'll need later using some backup app, unlocking will require factory reset.
Go to HTC dev and unlock your bootloader, a bit lengthy procedure, but not so hard, just follow the instructions on site.
http://htcdev.com/bootloader/
After your bootloader is unlocked, get Clockworkmod recovery for your phone from
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Use fastboot command you have used in unlocking phase to flash recovery. Phone should be connected via USB, in hboot mode, fastboot option chosen, drivers installed on PC, but you should learn all those details during unlocking phase. Command should look like:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img
Now you can enter Clockworkmod recovery by entering HBOOT and selecting recovery option. Get familiar with it
Now,
1) If you just wish to root your phone, nothing else, use CWM recovery to install this zip
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=672519&d=1312136127
It will add Root access app to your phone.
2) Since you worked hard, you deserve better than this. Install newer and more awesome ROMs using CWM recovery
I've tried Cyanogenmod 7,9 and 10, few MIUI versions, WildChild 3.3, and one AOKP version so far, using Oliver96's CM 10 ALPHA2 build at the moment, needed a lot of effort (SD partitioning, installing custom Google Apps, various tricks to get more space on /system, etc), but now I have Android 4.1 and everything works as charm
