Can anyone help me and tell me how to properly change icons on data apps. I've tried everything from extracting to decompiling and signing the APK but I can't get it to work. All I want to do is change the icons on data apps. If someone can please tell me step by step how to I would greatly appreciate it and also the program that is used.
Thanks in advanced

Not sure what you mean by change icon on data apps. Do you mean change the data symbol and signal strength in your status bar?

I'm not exactly sure if this is a problem but recently my Android market the 3rd icon changed from downloads into a Sprint icon and shows Sprint suggested apps, can anyone tell me why it did that? Or if there is a way to change it back? I searched.and don't.seem to find much about this thanks!

Thanks dude.but I would appreciate if its the stock navigation apk because it integrates with google maps.
Actually the problem is my Android is a different one that requires data connection for
GPS navigation however my friend uses it for free without internet on his Sammy y.
So just asking from you guys because someone would have made the backup of stock apps right?

the reason why he can use navigation without internet is he didnt clear cache, so data he collected with internet ON remains the same only GPS will show him where he is
anyways stock maps.apk contains navigation, so just push this to ur ROM
or use market unlocker to install this(not sure of name)
here you go buddy

As mentioned - it's part of the base android features and can't be disabled by the user. It CAN however be turned ON if your carrier has blocked it - see

Thanks guys :good:
I was just hoping to be able to get rid of that "Mobile Hotspot" app since it's annoying to still see a T-Mobile icon on my app list.
Anything for the tmobile version?

I have the Evo 4G and it is flashed to MetroPCS.
My phone says sprint, in the notification bar and on the lockscreen, I want to customize it with my own text, is there a way I can do this without too much hassle?
CCname. It should replace the carrier text in the status bar. I'm not sure if its still in the market or not..

It's not. But it's baked in to Deck's Reloaded ver. 44 as an option to install.

In other words, you could download reloaded, raid the file for said apk and manually install it. I actually have a backup on TB of that app..

I suppose that would work :good:
Not sure about CM9, but CM7 has an option in the settings menu to change that without an additional apk. Look in Settings > CM Settings > Interface > Status Bar Tweaks
So I downloaded GoSMSpro on my note 2. Once I opened the app I got "com.jb.gosms.weber.advanced finn" in the notification bar. I'm sure that I'm overlooking something extremely simple, but it just has me dumbfounded. I've searched with no success, so I thought that I would turn here and see if anyone else has ran in to this. I was running GoSms on my Evo LTE with no problems. Please help!
Look into appp settings.
Otherwise go to app manager in settings and click on the app you downloaded .
Scroll down and select disable notifications
