What is the deductible for tmobile right now if something was to happen to your phone ? If lost or stolen and you get a replacement is it a brand new phone ?

you meant the price? its like 175 or something around that its no longer 130 sad thats why i cancelled mine
I was reading online that the 175 price kicks in on the 17th of this month . Do you think they send you a brand new phone or a refurbished note 2
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
They send you a refurbished if you lose it, break it or gets stolen. They will send you a new one if it has a factory defect
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
My usb didnt work when I brought mines and they sent me a refurbished one the refurbished one is like new
I cracked my screen about two weeks ago and I put my insurance claim in. I also knew that the deductible was going up on the 17th. They told me the galaxy note 2 is on back order and didn't know when they would be getting more in. So I asked if I would have to pay the $130, or would I be forced to pay the new $170 deductible.
I was told as long as your claim is put into the system before the 17th, that you would only pay the $130 plus the $5 dollar service fee. I made sure she asked her supervisor and I got her name and extension # just in case.
So $135 until march 17th then its going up to $175.
It is going to be $175.00.
But I just paid $130.00 on March 13th, 2013. I cracked the screen after a fall.
I don't know when the new deductible price will take effect.

No mine is titanium as well. Hmmm, I'm gonna give them a call.
Why would anyone use T-mobile's insurance when they could get a Squaretrade warranty for the same price (about $5-6/month) and a $99 deductible?
And before anyone call me out on it: yes, you need a 30% off code, but those are a dime a dozen if you know where to look.

I'm planning to cancel my T-Mobile insurance and get a Squaretrade, but I saw this on Squaretrade's site:
"Coverage is valid for new smartphones purchased in the last 30 days.
A $99 deductible applies to all claims."
I bought my phone in November 2012. I suppose I could lie and say it was purchased more recently, but I don't want my warranty revoked later if Squaretrade finds out (somehow).
I found Amazon sells a 2 year Squaretrad warranty for $99, which is 20% off compared to buying (without a coupon code) a single payment plan from Squaretrade's website. It doesn't say anything about the phone needing to be purchased in the last 30 days.
http://www.amazon.com/2-Year-Smartphone-Accident-Protection-Above/dp/B0041OXLPW
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that T-Mobile's Asurion insurance plan includes lost/stolen devices. Squaretrade only covers damaged/broken.

Finally got my new replacement sealed in a box today. Curious when you got the phone did you keep all the accesorcies and just ship the phone back in your old box or ? Just curious if they are going to charge or want all of that back or just the phone.

i want to know this too.
i filed a claim on Saturday the 16th and was on back order before i could complete the claim. I received an email on Tuesday Morning that my phone was ready and i just needed to complete the claim. So i did at 6 am and got another email that my phone would arrive today 3/20 and that i would receive a tracking number within 12 business hours. I got nothing so i called this morning and my phone is still on back order, apparently they ran out of stock when they sent the request to ship my phone. Hopefully i don't have to wait too long.
By the way was this replacement a brand new phone in a new box?
Thanks in advance.

They did kind of the same thing to me. Was in stock on Saturday so I paid the deductible and said it would ship and be at my house by Monday. Didnt get a tracking number so called Monday evening and said they would ship me a new one overnight. Recieved the phone on Tuesday. So I guess they ran out in a day. If you complain on twitter(I just follow all the android news on) to asurioncares they will give you an option to go to the store and pay for a brand new one and they will refund you the difference minus the deductible. Of course I don't have 700 dollars to spend and wait 3 weeks for a refund check.
The phone was brand new sealed in a box with all the stickers on the phone with the accessories. I went ahead and just shipped them my broken phone in the old box with the old accessories and I kept all the new stuff. They give you a prepaid ups label, and packaging inside the package. Then I dropped it off at the ups drop box.

In the instructions they tell you to separate the accessories from the damaged device. When I replaced a damaged device before the insurance company tells not to send battery or accessories. They told me that they just throw them away. I kept the accessories and battery for this device. No problems yet.
Yes, I got the sealed box too.
But I only shipped with the bag they gave me to ship the device. The claim was about the screen being cracked. And they said to either ship with special package with box built in (look at the diagram within the shipping instructions) or ship with package they gave you to ship with. So I did what they instructed.
i just received my Brand new replacement phone today and i did not get a prepaid return envelope from Asurion.
Call them. They will send you a shipping package and a rma shipping label.

well my SIII that I received on the 21st is broken for good and won't power up.
I plan to exchange it for the same thing but my question is:
Does AT&T offer some sort of shipping me a new one then I return the broken one when it gets here? Or am I going to have to send mine out then wait for them to process and ship new one?
Appreciate the help.
i dont think any company do it without sending the phone back.
Why dont you take it to your local AT&T store and have them process an exchange?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
They used to do it that way at one point. Not sure what they do now as its been a while since I've done I it. I've been shipped a phone from AT&T then shipped mine back ac tear receiving new one. If you didn't ship yours back they charged your account for the price of the phone. However I did notice a return shipping label in the box of my gs3.

AT&T Store won't process an exchange because the phone was ordered online
AT&T generally sends you a new phone in the mail with a return mailer to send the old one back in. If the old one is never returned or if the damage / non working condition was caused by you then they will charge full price for the phone..
Call technical support and they will do the rest.. Now the question is do they have any in stock to mail?
If it won't boot because you a brick while root then cross your fingers that they don't notice or care..
Sorry getting used to the new Auto correct on this phone.

I just called and they are saying they only shipped first for iphones. ha. So I have to either send it out and wait. Or wait for them to come in stock at a store.
Which would be the better route?
Call again because that is BOGUS!
AT&T does not do iPhone exchanges.. Even when it's within the the 30-day exchange period they still direct you to Apple or an Apple store...
I think they fed you a line because they don't have any in stock...
I warrantied a Note and a Skyrocket and both times they sent the new phone to me 1st with a return mailer included for the bad device to be sent back in...

When I got my GS2 it was defective and they sent out a new one to me first and then I shipped my GS2 back to them. And the person who said if you order online you can't exchange at a store is wrong. As long as you ordered it from the att website you can exchange it at any corporate store. When I got my GS2 exchanged through the mail it was after they told me I could exchange it in store but the 3 by me didn't have it in stock(they were already pushing the Skyrocket instead) . One store wanted to exchange it with a Skyrocket so I said no and just did it over the phone.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
they're pissing me off. Should I call back and ask why they can't ship a new phone first? If not what would be the better move:
1. Take shipping slip they emailed me and send mine out.
2. Wait and exchange it when stores get stock.

Not true, I have exchanged several phones to AT&T stores that I have ordered online. Never had any issues.
Many years ago, I had to do an exchange due to a faulty camera button on my phone. (This was like 2005... pre-smartphone days. I'm pretty sure they were AT&T at the time, although they might have switched to Cingular... not sure)
Anyhoo, I called up AT&T, the rep said no problem. Processed the exchange.
About an hour later, I get a text message from the rep telling me that she accidentally processed it as a new sale instead of an exchange, and to call 611 to sort it all out. So I called 611, and the new rep told me that when the new phone arrives, just reject the shipment. It'll get sent back to AT&T, and I'll be credited, and everything will zero itself out.
So, FedEx shows up, I reject the delivery, and I think all is well.
I ended up having to battle that charge for 6 months. AT&T claims that the phone never made it back to their warehouse. Said the phone was signed for. Turns out when I did the FedEx research myself, the phone DID make it back to AT&T, and the signature they saw was the signature from the original delivery.
But the AT&T reps wouldn't hear anything of it. They kept insisting that I was trying to pull some scam over on them. Apparently, tracking numbers and dates don't mean anything to them.
After 6 months of battling, I finally got a supervisor to credit my account as an act of good faith because I had been such a loyal customer. He acted as if he was doing me this huge favor. They still refused to admit that they had done anything wrong.
The ONLY reason I am still with AT&T today is because at the time, the other carriers had crap service in my area, and AT&T had the best phones.
My current contract is up in 3 weeks. I'm debating getting the GS3 with AT&T, or Verizon. Remembering this episode makes me want to lean towards Verizon.
But at any rate, the moral of the story is that whenever you ship something back to AT&T, make sure to get the tracking number, and don't just trust that they'll process it properly. Follow through!
Call them again. They will ask you to do a few things to make sure you have tried everything to get it to turn on. Once you go through that whole process they will set up an exchange for you. They will ship you out a phone and you ship yours back once you receive it. You will ship yours back in the same box. I have done it half a dozen times over the last 2 years with no issues.
Good luck
Exchange

I suggest to always add the asurion insurance, you never know what can happen at any given moment. Also if it is a warranty issue, your local at&t store will exchange it for free, as long as it's not physical damage.

Store will exchange it for you if there's a issue within 30 days.
You will have to contact customer care after 30 days and they will have you go through a bunch of hoops on the phone to try to fix the issue your having. If they can't fix it on the phone they send you another one and then you have to send yours back within 7-10 days otherwise they will add the cost of the phone to your bill.
The only time I can think of the store swapping it out after 30 days would be if there was a shortage of the phone at corporate, but then they would put a note in your account to do the swap for you at the store, but this phone isn't really hard to get your hands on anymore at this point, so I don't get that.
^^ I concure .. An OFFICIAL AT&T store .. no one of these mom and pop stores.. will exchange your phone automatically right there in the store as long as your are within there 30 day period .. in which you are.
My first SGSIII died within 1 week of receiving it from AT&T .. I walked into my local AT&T store and exchanged it that same day (as long as they have stock) .. you should have no problems at all.
I've got the $7.49/month (I think) radioshack insurance on my device. My device is acting up and I'm thinking I'm going to get a new one. It's a $100 deductible (not that bad) but does anyone here know of the process you go through? Am I going to be without a device for 2+ weeks? Will I get a new phone or a refurb? I just got back from work and their help desk is offline so I thought I'd ask my fellow XDA'ers, who might have RS insurance.

If it's repaired is there a deductible? Sorry, the way you worded it sounds like that.
Sorry, repairs don't cost you a dime.
There are two service plans, both cover repairs, one covers accidental damage w/ a deductible.
You pay a deductable. $100. If they deem it unfixable or too many broken things they will replace it. However for me it took a whole week. Best thing however is j can give it to a radio shack store and they will send it out for you. Secondly. U can get store credit equal to ur phone value later down the line. Like say the Galaxy S IV comes out if j vet where I'm going with this
Sent from a Galaxy SIII presented by Sprint.
So, in summary...is it a good choice to take this program over Asurion? Asurion deductible is $150 vs $100 from Radioshack and $10 monthly fee vs $7.49.
I think I have a window still to apply the radioshack insurance, but wasn't sure if it was a good deal or not :/
Well, just an update. They still have my phone as of Aug 30th or so. I talked with them via online chat last night and they mentioned that they can't repair it and they're going to send me a "comparable spec'd" device. I'm a little scared they're going to send me an Evo. I've sent them an email with a request for the sph-l710. Hopefully they're cool about it and will send me a new GSIII or a check for retail price of it.
Otherwise I'll be quite upset.
Radio shack won't cover lost or stolen tho. Have to have the device to claim....only fallback really
Hopefully they'll send an S3, an EVO would piss me the fu¢k off.

Yeah, but I got the device on July 1st. Also, Assuraunt (Radioshack's 3rd party insurance), shipped the phone and it is to arrive at my house today by 4:30pm. I have work at 4:00 so it's going to be a long day. lol
I'll let you guys know if it's an SIII or Evo. :'-(
It's a brand new SIII. Complete with a new battery, too. Awesome.
Hey guys, lost my gs3 at a bar last night. Or someone stole it, Idk. Luckily using my dad's gs3 since he's away. I do have insurance with asurion and I understand I'll pay a 150 $ fee for a new phone, but can I go to a tmo store and do that there, or do I have to do everything online and wait for my phone to be shipped?
Also, will I get a refurb back, or a new gs3 since I paid the big fee?
Will thank for any help!
Thanks in advance.

You have to do it online from asurian website. There is nothing with tmobile.
And be sure to say you lost it, not som1 took it.
You need proof of purchase. Box cutting or receipt. Fee is 130 bucks.
99 in 100 times you will receive refurb phone but there is chance of getting new phone too. Last week my friend got brand new on box as replacement.
Gud luck.
I went to tmobile and all they did was get me on a call with asurion. I'm guessing they shipped me a brand new one since it came with the original box plus the charger and headphones.

Refurb phones are also shipped fully shrink wrapped in the box with accessories.
You have to show proof of purchase even though T-Mobile has all that information? I bought mine through telesales, I don't have the receipt as they never gave me one and I need my UPC for my rebate.

Next Day Air shipping is also included in that $130 fee. So if you order the new phone through Asurion's website today, you have good chances of receiving the new phone by Friday.
Towle has it perfectly down to the tee, although my experience was a little different because I did not need to obtain any kind of proof of purchase for this process. If you're anything like me you don't like to leave things dependent on an e-mail and would rather talk to a human being about the issue and get it resolved quickly. You can call Ausurion (number is on their website) and speak to a representative, they will just confirm your identity, charge your card for the $130 and ship it out next day. The replacement I received was a refurb but came with the newer UVDLJC modem even though my old phone had the UVDLJA modem.

one thing I like to point out is every time I ordered replacement for insurance claim, they sent me refurbished phone which is fine.. but most refurbished phone they sent don't come with accessories like battery or the back cover.. I am not sure there is an option on Asurion website that you can request as full phone not just half (you know what I mean..). I ran into that when I was replacing my GS2.. just FYI..

He is filing his claim as a lost device. They're not going to send just the phone. If you still have a phone to send back, they may tell you to keep your battery and back cover. In lost/stolen cases, they will send accessories.
I got a new phone and promptly broke it. I got a new phone as a replacement after paying the $175 deductible. I got a brand new phone in the box with all the accessories.
The instructions state to put the old device in the box and return it or get charged. I am assuming that the reason I got a new factory phone is because it is so new to the market and they have not built up an inventory of returned phones.
Anyone know what the rules are regarding this? It would be nice to get a spare battery out of the ordeal.
Every time I got warranty replacements I always keep the accessories. I just return the phone and back cover.

I keep everything. Technically, their return boxes are not marked for batteries so you shouldn't ship it back. Or at least that is my story.

I received a new phone in its original box once for a insurance exchange and only had to return the phone....no battery no battery cover just the phone and was happy to keep all the extra accessories... You never ship a battery in a package that's not labeled because its considered a hazardous material...so just send the phone and only the phone and keep the accessories and everything should be fine...However to cover your ass from some crazy charge that's in between some lines somewhere you might want to make a call...just saying!

They only want the device. No battery door, no earphones, nothing but the bare phone.
I'll Keep The Accessories
Thanks. I'm going to keep the accessories. I will wait and see if they want them back. In the past, I have gotten replacement phones a couple of times and they were just a phone and nothing else. They were phones that were returned and formatted but in new condition.. This time it was a factory sealed phone and I am not used to that.
Not that I have all that much experience. My family and I have had three.
Thanks again for the responses.
I would've gone with Asurion except they hiked up the price and the deductible is more than the down payment of the phone! Now I'm going with Squaretrade's $99 insurance for two years. Does anyone know if they have the same policy as T-Mobile's when it comes to replacing broken phones? I believe they charge a $99 deductible and if they can't fix the broken device, they will only reimburse you for the full price of the phone, not send us an actual replacement device (refurbished or new). Can anyone confirm this?

Verizon said they would refund the taxes once the Note 7 is received. So I guess you are SOL... Maybe call Target customer service, not an individual store. I'm sure corporate CS has dealt with this before, as opposed to the guy at the CS desk at the store.

Yes I did, I guess Samsung or whoever is receiving the devices will notify Verizon.
I left my fire proof box on my car in the sun for a couple of days and the label faded by the time I remembered to drop it off at a UPS location. Now they need to send me another one.
I'll be taking my old box camping to see just how fire proof the box really is.

The entity that collected (and pocketed) the taxes needs to refund it. Odd that Target would leave you to fend for yourself when they sold you the phone. This whole debacle has proven, at least to me, it's kind of important where and how you buy your phone.
I have sent 11 back so far to Samsung that I purchased all locally off craigslist and offerup and facebook. I do not have a receipt for any of mine yet I amean getting a refund for all 11 of them. Plus $10 for screen protectors and $25 for cases. So if you get the box from Samsung to ship it back be sure to include the screen protector and any other accessoryx to get refunded. The amounts above are what they give without receipts. If you have a receipt you will get that amount back. Be sure to keep the imei #, ticket #, and tracking # off the UPS label on the box when shipping the Note 7 back to them. Honestly this process is not well organized and I feel a little insecure about the 11 I already sent in. I have 2 more that are waiting to go back still too.
