[Q] Stop OTA update? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I recently went back to an old, steady standby - Justin's stock M ROM - and just this morning starting getting nagged about an OTA update. It's come back twice now.
I haven't had the nerve to let it proceed to see if it fails.
Anyone know how to shut this off entirely? I never recall getting it when I ran this earlier, but I've been on ICS builds for a while and may have simply forgotten.

Same situation as you, unfortunately I don't know how to disable it. Tried to defer for three years but apparently 5 days is the max So hopefully within 5 days someone can offer a solution.

try using titanium to freeze the ota process

[Q] PRL/Profile Issue

I'm running stock EC05 that i flashed from EB13. Ever since I updated i have been unable to update my profile/prl. Is there anything i can do to fix this or is this something that I have to return the phone over?
I'm getting the "An error occurred while trying to update your PRL. Please try again later. If the problem persists , please call cutomer care Error: unknown error
If you keep trying, it will eventually work (and will probably tell you that your PRL is already up to date). It took me like 30 tries one day but I finally got it to work and tell me there was no update necessary.
i'm getting the same error. even 30 tries, something is wrong.. I've been ACS, midNIGHT, and bakedsnack and all of them give the same error, so i'm guessing its an inherent problem.
Mine was failing for the longest time on multiple roms. And w/o me even trying Sprint pushed one on me last night. Weird thing is they pushed 60676 .... which i already had? /boggle

It is a known Sprint issue. There was a problem with 60677 so a lot of people got rolled back to 60676 without trying. Most of their prl servers are down until they figure out who is on what and what to do about it. They got me 2 nights ago but my gf's is still on 60677 and her's said it updated. Both on Bonsai.

[Q] Stuck on 4.1.1, OTA fails

So I had my phone rooted sometime around the point when the 4.1.2 OTA came out. I went back to stock recovery and a nandroid backup that I made before rooting. Now, about once a week, I get the notification that the update is available but it doesn't work. My phone reboots like its going to update, I get the android guy with the spinning graphic thing, then it reboots the same as it was before.
I tried searching but couldn't find a solution...if my searching skills suck just let me know
THANKS!

[Q] Repeat system update notification

I've got an unrooted, completely stock, unlocked Galaxy Nexus. A few weeks ago, I updated it to 4.3 when prompted by the usual notification ("System update downloaded: Touch to install"), and the update went fine.
However, since then I keep getting the same notification again, and pressing it seems to reinstall 4.3. The notification then reappears after a week or so. I know the update isn't failing, as I can see in the settings that it's running 4.3.
Does anyone know why it might be doing this, and how I can stop it?!

[Q] How to get OTA notification again?

Hi All,
Last week I received a system update for my Nexus 7 for Lollipop. At that time I didn't want to update so I dismissed the notification. The problem is that I can't get it to re-appear. I've already tried to check for updates 100 times over a couple of days. I've also cleared the Google Play Services and then check for updates, but didn't work.
Is there a simple way to get the update notification again?
Thank you for your help!
Yes, wait for the OTA to become available again. There's a possibility that the latest OTA (5.0.1) was pulled and is no longer available. If you really want the update, download the firmware from Google and flash it manually.
Edit: someone got the notification today. So who knows why you haven't received the notification.
I thought one you dismiss the notification and don't take the update you go back to the end of the queue - so it could be weeks before you get it again.
Happened to me as well. Got the notification last week for 5.0.1, didn't update but didn't dismiss it either. After a couple of days it just disappeared and so far hasn't shown again.
I'm still waiting on 5.0 here. Getting annoyed and was looking for sideload update options but if other people are still waiting on it I guess I'll hold off a bit longer.
If you're now running a modified stock rom, you will most likely have issues updating with the OTA. Here's a way to update without having problems or waiting for the OTA with no loss of data: Download the rooted rom from Scrosler found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex.../rom-factory-stock-rooted-rom-lrx22c-t2960745 , use Wugfresh's NRT 1.9.9 to update the bootloader that's also mentioned in Scrosler's thread, and then dirty flash (no wipes) the 5.0.1 rom with TWRP.

Stop waiting and do it manually. Why is everyone so consumed with sideloading? You can flash the latest firmware in fastboot without losing anything.
When I lost my update (long story) it took 3 days to come back. A little less than I was expecting but still a little more than I wanted. I'd expect you'll get it back in 2-3 days.
Same here! But will download it now instead. Tierd of waaiting

AT&T LG G4 Won't Update! Help!

I'm currently running Android 5.1 Build H81010e.
Since last week, my phone has alerted me that a software update is available. I start installation, the phone resets, and the notification comes right back after 2-3 minutes. It's been in an endless loop for at least the last week. Now my phone resets every 3-5 hours attempting to force the update, but it doesn't seem to ever install.
Anyone else having this problem on AT&T? Is my build the most recent? Any ideas on how to fix it?
If you want root, don't take the update.http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-prevent-updates-g4-t3148650
If you don't care about root, go to Settings > Smart Cleaning and use the cleaner. It may remove the update file and let you download it again.
Since AT&T blocked recovery mode, there's no easy way for us to clear the cache, so you may need to factory reset to get the update to download again.
Apologies for resurrecting an old post however this is the closest forum topic I can find. I have a G4 and I have the same issue as above. I keep getting a notification of a software update and when I try to install the update it just restarts and then 2 minutes later I get the same notification of an update. It's an endless circle lol. I have tried smart cleaning twice and each time I check for a system update and I get the original notification and the endless loop begins again. Is there anything else I can do to update my device? I'm not keen on performing a factory reset or rooting my device if at all possible. Also I'm not with AT&T. I'm with an Australian carrier.
Many thanks
