So I had my phone rooted sometime around the point when the 4.1.2 OTA came out. I went back to stock recovery and a nandroid backup that I made before rooting. Now, about once a week, I get the notification that the update is available but it doesn't work. My phone reboots like its going to update, I get the android guy with the spinning graphic thing, then it reboots the same as it was before.
I tried searching but couldn't find a solution...if my searching skills suck just let me know
THANKS!

Just a quick background to ky situation;
A couple of months ago, I got my DHD rooted and installed CM7. Since then I haven't really done much with it until a few days ago. Vodaphone recently rolled out the new 2.3 (or sense, not sure which) OTA, and I wanted to check it out. I booted my pre cyanogen backup and it loaded fine. All my root related apps (terminal, visionary, clockwork) were all there. Wanting to clear it out a little,.I did a factory reset. When it loaded, the root apps were gone.
I then tried to run the update, but when it loaded I got a black screen with a triangle and an exclamation mark and after taking out the battery, nothing had changed.
I then tried to flash the Vodaphone stock branded Rom, but clockworkmod wouldnt work, giving the message "an error occurred while trying to run privaledged commands. Now basically none of the programs functions work.
Admittedly I'm a bit of a join with all this stuff, and sorry for the long post, but if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all!
I just got my T-Mobile G3 today. I immediately rooted it using StumpRoot and then proceeded to start ripping out TMobile & LG bloatware.
I saw the OTA update which after some research must be D85110M. It seemed reasonable so I went ahead and hit update, planning to reroot afterwards. I looked back to my computer.
About 5 minutes later, I look down, only to find my phone rebooted. I go to system settings, and notice that my build version is still D85110C, which is what my G3 came with. In addition, the OTA update notification is nowhere to be found. I have tried going into settings and searching for a new update, but it appears my phone thinks the update was installed, but it clearly has not been. I cannot imagine there was any errors in the process, as it should have just ran while plugged in.
Any ideas?
I upgraded to kitkat through OTA update and it screwed my tablet up. It kept freezing and restarting by itself all the time to the point it was useless. I did a factory reset and couldn't get it past the boot screen and if it did it froze seconds after getting to the home screen. I called Customer service and told them I was having issues because of the update and they said I could send it in for $99 and they would repair it....... yeah right. So I decided to root it, I used Odin 3.7 and twrp then flashed it with nolekat I thought I had it fixed but it started doing the same thing again I am feed up with 4.4.2 and want to go back to 4.2.2 where I had no issues I cant find a clean stock rom for the 210R and was wanting to know if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks
Check out sammobile. You have to make an account, but it's free.

Here's the latest firmware before the KitKat update.
Thanks Downloading now I hope this fixes my issues.
I keeps giving me an error so gonna try to download it again.
I had rooted my phone and removed some of the bloatware (I wish I knew better at that time).
But anyway, I got the OTA notification. I unrooted my phone and applied the update.
Things seemed to work fine but when the phone rebooted, the dreaded "Error" dead bot appeared. But unlike many, I didn't get stuck in a boot loop as the phone started normally.
And it looks like the update was applied because the System Update build number shows "2.18.40.12" (earlier was 2.17.40.12)
Should I be worried? Should I flash the stock ROM? Or is there any other method of restoring the bloatware?
Thanks for your time
EDIT: I flashed my phone just to be sure. I suppose this thread is irrelevant now.
you haven't finished , actual OTA is 2.19.40.18
I haven't received that update yet. 2.18.40.12 was the older update and was the one I downloaded/installed.
