[Q] AT&T HTC One X JB Update: Stuck - HTC One X

Alright, so I'm just completely at a loss here.
Bought an HTC One X off ebay several months ago [like 5 months], phones been working no problem.
Today, the Jelly Bean update comes: GREAT!
Try downloading, nothin' doin.
Phone gets stuck at the "development purposes only" screen during update, a screen I have never seen and does not pop up during normal boot.
Hard restart phone, now saying sim card not found.
Try to factory reset both through phone menus and the recovery menus, both of those get stuck on the same screen.
Can't use my phone to make phone calls, not getting the update.
Been surfing forums for a few hours now, no idea what to do.
Halp?

Dude, this is the international one x section, go to the AT&T forum and DO NOT EVER install anything here unless you want a brick.
Oh yeah, try flash a RUU

Well ****, i thought this was the right one
I ran the RUU for the att one x, and now it works, but says I have no sim installed. So I have a phone that turns on, crashes during update, and cant make calls.

Bricked again?

So got the Incredible S in the beginning of July and was very happy with it, beat the hell out of my old HD2 who got bricked Desided not to root this one cause it was already android and i didnt want to break the warranty. But then the 2.3.3 update came and i didnt recieve text and calls was dismissed. (it is an own thread about this issue on the forums) so i desided to try a rom from XDA to see if this could help solve the issue. It did not but i rooted the phone (S-off right?) and used it with GSM only.. today i talked with HTC support and got a hold of the RUU_Vivo_HTC_WWE_1.36.405.1_Radio_Radio_20.23.30.0802U_38.02.01.11_M_release_172670_signed.. the cusomter support guy uploaded it and i installed it with the USB cable.. the installer said everything went fine.. the phone reebots.. boots to the HTC logo screen and turns off again.. and keeps on going in the same cycle..
I can get into bootloader, but when i press "power" to choose recovery it goes straight to the white htc screen again and reebots.. what to do now? Is this one dead also?

um.... This is the Incredible Forum, as in not the Vivo or Vivow. Don't think we're going to be much help.
This looks like what my 1st DInc was experiencing...and the verdict was, brick. I could get into Hboot but anything else would bootloop to HTC screen. Tried flashing stock RUU...nada.
Sounds like you may be screwed.
Oh, geez wrong forum, il try the right one..

[Q] I bricked my phone flashing Endeavor CM10 ROM

I need help. I thought I knew what I was doing, as I had flashed roms on my old Evo 4G, but since I switched to the One X, I blew it. I had 2.20 firmware, so when I found out about the root method for that I was stoked. I rooted it using the all-in-one toolkit that was posted last week, and it was all good. I decided to try and flash a new rom, so first I tried RebelRom, but I got stuck in a bootloop. I was able to get to recovery (TWRP) and put the zip folder for the Endeavor CM10 rom on there. I flashed it, and it looked like it took that just fine. I wiped the caches and went to reboot it, but it hasn't turned back on since. That was over an hour ago. It won't boot into recovery or bootloader, and it won't even charge as far as I can tell. The notification light doesn't come on when I plug it into the wall or my computer. I'm stuck, and I really don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?
you have htc one xl. this is for international version.
Try fastboot OEM lock? Or is device even recognized by ur computer?...I ****ed mine up too but did the lock n found the 2.20 ruu online and downloaded after relocking bootloader....it is diff flashing roms on the hox. Me myself keep gettin stuck in cm10 and 9 boot loops? I even flash boot.img....I'm lost on this part tho n could use help myself....

2.20 firmware?
Kindly provide more info, like where your phone from? carrier?
FYI, we don't have 2.20 version.
You most probably having a One XL not One X..
And if true, you had flash wrong things.
The situation is severe may be hard brick.
@HebeGuess: I have an AT&T One X in America. It's not the international version. If this is in the wrong forum, I can try posting this elsewhere.
@teambeck: My computer doesn't recognize it. It chirps at first like it does, but then it beeps at me and doesn't show up anywhere.

Need help getting into fastboot / flashing stock rom

I've been running Viper XL for the past 4-5 months. It has been okay, but my phone ran out of batter last night. When I plugged it in and turned it on, I couldn't bring up the home screen. I had to use Google Now to open apps and do anything basically, so I decided to go back to stock rom. But when I try to reboot into bootloader, all it does is act like it's restarting (goes through the Viper XL start screen) then brings up "process com.android.htcdialer has stopped". The same thing happens when I choose "Power Off" from the options. The only way I can turn off the phone is if I hold the power button down. I've tried restarting it while holding down the volume buttons (that use to work with my Galaxy S), but the phone just starts up normally.
I know my phone's CID is cws_001, but I don't know the version since I can't go into recovery/fastboot mode. I'm on AT&T in the U.S.
Can someone help me get into fastboot mode.
Once there, I just have to relock the bootloader and then reflash the correct RUU (still don't know since I don't know my version).
If someone could help me with all of this, it would be really helpful. I know there were some other posts in the forum about restoring to stock, but I didn't find anyone with my specific problem.
Edit: After doing the exact same thing 20 times, I finally got into recovery mode. It looks like I'm running Evita. Version 2.20.502.7. Could someone lead me to the correct RUU to use? I've looked around, but I am still unsure which to use.
Wrong forum. This is for the International One X.

I didn't see any indication that this was the international One X forum. Is there a forum for the U.S. version? If so, could you give me a link? When I did a search for my phone, this was the forum that came up.

OTA update leads to HTC logo stuck

My brother got HTC Desire 816 a month ago.
He found OTA Update and he installed it and when phone was updating he noticed that phone stuck on htc logo.
He keep waiting for almost hour to see if it is finished or not, but ???
Well i am using ATrix 2 and i suggested him to go to recovery and try for system restore. But still no luck.
Phone was above 65% and wifi connection was proper that time. I don't know what went wrong?
I Google regarding this and searched in xda also, for same, but i didn't find anything helping.
Can any one help me regarding this.

This is the second case so far I came across that has issues with updating OTA on HTC desire 816. May I please ask whether it was rooted and xposed module installed ? If not, the only way is to look for a custom rom or else, install the custom recovery (if your brother can manage to boot into fastboot mode) and restore from the cwm backups floating around in xda. @jithumon has the indian backed up version, which will allow you to get your phone back alive, if not already is.

His mobile is not rooted, even he is not technical person at all.
Yeah! he was able to go to fast boot mod by pressing volum and power botton. He also managed to hard reset. But no luck. Fiinally he returned the phone to ebay. He will be gettiing his phone by 5th september (hopfully). The thing is phone is almost new (~1 month old). So neither he noe I wanted to take chance.

ok so I been with htc since the m7, m8, m9, now the ten. I bought it brand new in may. back in august the phone battery ran out and I tried to restart it and it never loaded again; it goes to the htc logo then restarts by itself. when I go into the bootload menu it says "official software s-locked" . I tried to do a wipe or factory reset it wont tho. I can not get into the phone at all. its just restarts over and over. I called htc I tried to do htc dev it didn't work. im really getting frustrated with it. im thinking of beating my anger out on the phone. the phone has a small crack on the screen., so when I called htc they said they'll fix the software along with any physical damage but id have to pay out of my pocket.. is ther any other way of rebooting this phone? I tried to download htc sync manager but my computer will not reconigize my htc because I cant not get it to boot up.
I did not buy the phone from htc. I got it off craigslist but it was brand new in the box never opened. so I don't have the uh oh protection which is stupid..
has someone had this problem and resolved it ? please help thank you

Might be able to get into download mode? Keep holding power + volume down to start the phone.
Edit: Seems from your post that you can. What OS version does it state in download mode? You can try running an RUU for your version.
