Hey guys, I was wondering if it was at all possible to get help from a friendly developer here at XDA who has some free time to go ahead and walk me through what to do, either over skype, or take over my computer and S-Off my HTC Inspire 4g. If anybody could do that for me that would be very great and i'd be very greatful. I already have bootloader or whatever. I used the HTCDEV tool to do that. But, I don't know how to get S-Off, and with AAHK gone, I have no idea what to do.
Please help.
Thanks.

check general discussion or Q&A, there's plenty of hubub going on about this. After you've exhausted those options, you can always try starting your own thread IN Q&A.

Maybe it helps against the polution more and more people are getting annoyed about. Don't expect any answers though: USE SEARCH!! should be the answer to all these questions.

Is there any manual method to get root avoid Unrevoked soft?
I tried unrevoked and get my recovery vanished, my desire unbootable and dunno what to do now.
I can only boot to hboot and fastboot, but reflashing with OTA update didnt help.
Use search, learn to read.

If I'm reading this correctly, you have posted a totally useless thread so new members can come here, ask questions then be flamed?
Thread closed.
I have a desire hd running cyanogenmod 7.0.3 but want to go back to a stock htc room. How do I go about doing this?
Question has been asked and answered too many times already.
Forum rules state you must search before posting.
Your answer depends on method used to get root and S-OFF.
Hint, look in development forum for "one click root, Eng S-OFF".
Read the threads, follow the guides, if you get stuck let us know at what step. But I assure you, the guides are accurate if you follow them.
Just so we're clear lol obviously I have a Verizon HTC Incredible 2, Gingerbread (2.3.4) with HBOOT 0.98...
I'd like to get rid of all the bloatware, or freeze it, whatever needs to be done. I'm not a n00b but I am a bit of a rookie when it comes to Android devices specifically, I've never really dabbled in this department.
I was following: incredibleforum.com/forum/htc-incredible-2/9918-successful-rooting-incredible-2-finally.html
I figured out the ADB thing, so don't worry about that. I went to try doing the revolutionary s-off part before I could gain root access to my phone, but it told me my device was not supported, that's when I figured out I have hboot 0.98, pffffttt. I wonder if it's even possible to do at this point in time. I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for...
Could someone please point me in the right direction? What am I missing or not finding for myself? >_<
Check out the dinc2 development section. It seems as if you can do so via attn1 help.
I can't link from my tablet but its on the first development page.

A friend of mine has a wildfire S and is sick of the constant lack of memory messages so he's considering rooting his device. I'm looking for every tutorial you need to root the phone as well as how to "s-off" for one tutorial in the dev section that didn't have this, that's why I'm asking so I can get him started.
Can anyone help me out with this please? I'm assuming its not possible to follow the standard HTC Wildfire rooting guides.
Thanks,
Dave

Look at the general section, there is a index thread

I note that in most of them you need an XTC clip, is there an easy way around this? the ones that don't use it are CDMA models, without any more info on the phone in question I can't understand much more myself, so which method of rooting have you guys used?
Rooting tutorial is in a stick in this forum...
Yes you need an XTC-Clip to S-OFF the phone for permanent root.
GSM - XTC Clip
CDMW - Software S-Off
The end!!!
Sorry but you are just another spamer who does not wat to read...
Please stop opening such threads, first searcu for it...

Unfortunately not yet, if you got no cdma version (without Sim slot) you need an xtc-clip to gain s-off.
You can get one at e-bay or go to a second hand seller that also does repairs, I unlocked my gf wfs at one of those shops for €20, but I can't guaranty that all of them got one.

In what world am I just another spammer? I'm simply looking for some help on these forms on a phone I have no experience with before I go off and tell my mate to do something incorrectly. If it bothers you that much don't read the thread. As much as people like me bother people like Tectas, they still help even if it pisses them off which I thank them for.
Tectas, thanks for that, if you don't get the s-off can you still root the phone or what happens then? I recall not getting s-off on my sisters desire and managed to root it using superoneclick. The only thing was lots of ROMs wouldn't work.
I am having htc wildfire s unlocked s-on phone with the black screen recovery problem. i have already made a thread regarding this but none of the developers are interested in solving the problem. dear developers please help the new htc wildfire s buyers like me who can't even root the phone for god sake. i tried out all the methods in xda but nothing seems to work. please understand our grim fate to hang around with the unrooted stock rom device. i hope you understand .. i bought the phone for android development and rooting but now it seems of no use.. please help.. we need professional help.. pleasee....
Your not special. Take it back to q&a.

lol dude wrong section, and u obviously cant read cos there is loads of ways to s-off and root. and if u bought it to develop
1: why not buy xtc clip, easy and fast only like 15 quid.
2: s- off by HTCdev definately works did it myself on cha cha but sure will work for wildfire s.
3: Simon's HTC Utility v4, [UTILITY]One Root for WFS Windows/Mac, rezo609's All-In-One Utility, and probably loads more that will work.

you cant S-OFF from HTCdev, only unlock bootloader... still wrong section though, and all your answer are here just search
I believe he is wailing about the new A510e devices that don't respond to CM kernels. Gingerbread leaves you with a black screen and ICS halts at the initial splash. I'm not sure how they expect any developer to fix an ethereal problem in a device they don't own. Most of the users with these devices haven't volunteered to help they just whine that their devices don't work with recovery x or that 5.0.2.8 gives them a Black Screen.
There is a workaround for the recovery issues but, it's a bit hokey.
