I need some advice. I haven't downloaded the game yet because its shown to be a pain for me to download. Lol. I have played it on my iPhone 5 before I took it back to Sprint to exchange it for my S3, my question is how does it run on our stock ROM with the s4 processor? How are the graphics? My iPhone 5 ran it decently with some lag here and there but nothing unbearable. How's it run on our device? Please don't flame me for this, I just don't want to waste my time trying to find WiFi to download it if its not gonna be worth it.

After my Real Racing 3 question is asked we can turn this into a gameplay thread for how all games play on our phone and what ROM and kernel were running. I know there's a thread for "what are we playing" but I feel this one can be pretty informant as well.

Im on stock rooted mb1 and stock kernal, runs great but game sucks if your not using the version with unlimited gold. Dont ask me where to find it.
Peace
Haha like I said, I played it on the iPhone 5 on release day and loved it, played it for 4 hours straight and got 8 cars and stayed around 50 gold, that's without IAP purchases. But are you saying the graphics and gameplay are good? And the unlimited gold version is intriguing. Haha

I figured it was general knowledge about games and gameplay. Figured it went in general.

Check rule 15. ALL questions go in Q&A. The only exception would be a POLL or opinions. General is for announcements.

I have it on both my gs3 and my ipad (4th gen). It runs smoother on my s3 but the gfx are noticeably lower than on the ipad 4. Refection's on the cars and the mirrors inside the car are just dont look the same at all but nonetheless the game still looks good. Its the same way with need for speed most wanted. I'm running slim bean with lean kernel.
I have noticed tha with Need For Speed. I also noticed when I flash kt kernel the gfx are still low, BUT when I raise the clock speed to over 1.6ghz the gfx are the same as the ipad 4th gen. How can overclocking the CPU help gfx out? I tested it on multiple roms including stock and everytime I over clock it (the cpu not gpu) the game has amazing gfx...the cpu shouldn't do that should it?

The game probably automatically checks the CPU speed and steps up (or down) the graphics based on what it reads. It's actually a really good idea for them to do this, as they can scale down graphics for older machines and can make the game playable.
I wonder if Real Racing sites this too? I noticed Asphalt 7 MIGHT do it. .. it has real time reflections on the cars but i haven't played it on an over clock cpu

Nice! Let us know how it runs on your Epic!
Well I finished the 1.4gb of data download and the tutorial seems pretty smooth, ironically it seems more sgs2 users are having issues rather than the sgs1.
If you haven't played this game, the story is incredible immersing, violent and saddening with snippets of comedy and an extremely interactive environment. Lag is present but it's easily fixed with a 1.1ghz overclock. Only one fc, none after overclocking though.

The game seems to be lagging quite badly on my Nexus 7 whereas its pretty smooth on my Galaxy Nexus. Running motley's kernel with GPU at 484Mhz and no OC

Yes Ive been wondering the same thing tried it last night and it wasn't necessarily laggy but more choppy in parts .... Im going to try batman today and see if its the same
Im running stock, with trinity kernel OC to 1500, no GPU OC my scores were 6900+ so it maybe is the game in some parts?
Did you guys check the force gpu option in the developer settings menu?

yes, lots of people hitting over 7 k
I keep it at 1500 myself, but tried at 1640 with fsync faster, cpu online and force gpu rendering with trinity kernel and stock rom gets you past the 7 k mark, try it
back on topic, seems like batman ran fine not the type of choppiness that was in spiderman, seems like its a game issue.
It's very laggy. Batman runs great but for whatever reason spiderman runs horribly for me.

yeah, same here, the game seems to lag a lot when spidey is swinging and when too much action happens. I am glad it's not just me then, I was so surprised, thinking if a quad core nexus tab can't handle it, what can?
This is unbelievable, this phone gets faster BY the minute

It's more based on how the rom works, and the kernel yes helps with CPU and GPU scores but I noticed his GPU scores are lower than mine, one of the nation reasons I'm still stock. Because it's probably persues kernel and has issues with FPS in real world and quadrant performance.
He probably ran it 1600/1600 on performance or something on those lines
Edit: this is mine stock rooted GPU much better than his, until persues can match this without overclocking the GPU just to get the same performance I do on stock I'm not switching.

Maybe you should consider that you're not the brightest, most experienced person in this thread before talking smack.
Exposing a component to more heat means you are shortening its life, there is no doubt about that. Those with overclocked desktop CPUs often have elaborate setups with overclocking in mind. You can't add a better heatsink, or a fan to your phone. Mobile CPUs, especially, are designed to be efficient at a certain range of clock frequencies. Moving it too far from the norm means you eventually see diminishing returns.
I've fried everything from my first Commodore 64 to my current box, and everything in between. If you think the phone can function at that level for an extended period of time without failure, best of luck to you.

Dude it was part of the whole meaning of rooting and tweaking. Checking different settings for a little bit, testing them and then reverting back to defaults. I will never leave overclocked/ undervolted or vice-versa settings for a whole day... its just part of the fun of tweaking and experimenting with our devices...

I am all for overclocking, modding, tweaking, hacking, etc. Breaking **** is the best way to learn. But that doesn't mean you should push your hardware past the point of exponentially diminishing returns, and increased risk of burning your chips out. That is, unless, you have no problem with the very real possibility that you'll need to buy a new phone.
That being said, kudos on "going plaid" with your Quadrant score

Its the Redpill v1.42... I prefer it compared to all the others i used ( stock, perseus, n.e.a.k., note2core). Those results were with stock rom but redpill kernel. Im a fan of omega but today i discovered another Rom (Hawkish extreme series Rom for N7100). I may try Perseus with that rom and see how it treats it...

Hi guys back on the og epic forums we used to have a little thing called control freak. All of you who came from the epic are prolly taking a trip down memory lane oc'ing your gpu to double its factory limit. Well I'm just wondering if we could ever get something like that? I thought I saw a kernel on the Verizon or att forums that oc'd the gpu I cannot remember by how much bcuz it was when this phone was still a baby in the development section. And I am also not sure if our developers have already done that and just not mentioned it. Any way I think it would be cool if it were stable.

I am upgrading to a 7000mha battery and want to overclock the crap out of my galaxy s3. I am holding out to the note 4 and want my s3 to still run silky smooth for quite a while. Who knows, with a long battery life and good performance, I may keep it for another year or so.
I am currently running Quantum 3.66 & QuantumKernel 4/12 (it says GPU OC to 480 MHz in the description) and my 3dmark and antutu benchmarks are below a base s3 . I am looking for something that can put me in the realm of MAYBE and s4?
I have searched the forums and will continue to do so (yes I watched the noob video ) until I see something with a bit more powerful, but I was hoping you all could help me out
Thanks guys/gals for your help!!!:good:
