Well I rooted my htc wildfire and overclocked it.
Everything seemed to work fine for a few months
and then...
I got a text message, and I responded to it, but I did also see that my battery was almost empty, then after responding, I putted my phone in my pocket, Then like 15 minutes later, I looked at my phone and it didn't do anything anymore, so I thought, my battery ran out, nothing to worry about then I got home, plugged in my phone... led didn't turn on... phone didn't charge. I was like damn, maybe my battery died? So I went outside to someone who also has a Wildfire and asked if I could try his battery, We switched batteries and my phone still didn't work
Does anyone know how i can fix this? my phone doesn't respond to ANYTHING I've tried
These symptoms are a bad omen.
Does it pick anything up plugging it into a computer?

Than that would be the first wildfire thats been bricked AFAIK
Maybe it's a hardware issue, something as motherboard or CPU or maybe the connector for the lcd screen has become loose
EDIT: Did your phoneshowany sign of intability before you put it in your pocket; was it hot?

lol, how can it be bricked if I used the root for a few months and didn't change anything to it for a while?
also @lcd poster
if it was my lcd, my led should still turn on when inserting the phone to a power connection
also I do also think it is something with my mainboard/cpu, i've read on the internet that i'm not the only one with a phone that just doesn't respond to anything anymore (wildfire) even others who hadn't rooted their phone got this issue, although they have garrantuee :s
sorry for my bad english
Anyhow its great u r not bricked bt if u have damaged CPU so do u have warranty/guarantee?

Rooted and overclocked, I don't think my warranty is still valid?
Yes your warranty is void. But, if you were on a Stock / Sense based ROM, you *may* be lucky and the service guys may not notice.

But maybe they won't start repairing it and give me just a new one, (since it's more expensive to repair the phone then to give me a new one i guess) and then they'll won't notice either?
also, if I do bring back my phone and they find out about it, will they charge me for the repairing costs? even if I don't want it to be repaired if it will cost me? (I already bought an iphone now, but sometimes i just want to experiment back with my android xd)
I really can't answer that mate. Policies vary widely across stores and nations. But, don't hold your breath for a new one, I think that case is extremely unlikely. I guess your best bet is to give them the phone, and have them contact yo regarding it's situation, repairs, and costs (if any) after their preliminary inspection / assessment. Only after their assessment, you give the go ahead to repair / replace (If free ).

HTC and Apple don't roll the same way.
Apple's products aren't even worth repairing, thus they don't bother doing that.
it might be an lcd problem this thing also happened to me...
I know quite a few friends of mine who had similar issues with other HTC devices and they just went to the shop and they were given new ones in a short time. usually guys at the customer service are ignorant and don't check for anything, even if in your situation it should be impossbile to know which rom you're mounting.
my advice is go there and have a brand new wildfire, nobody will discover it's without warranty
Mabye its static?
Once my brothers netbook had a static build up causing a problem i dunno if the same rules apply but try: take out battery -> hold power on for around 30secs, If that didnt work try getting into bootloader holding vol down and power on when your phones off
Hope my ideas worked and that your wildfires better
I have same problems
When i trying root my HTC device ... there are something wrong... so it can't boot after rooting.
I think that it was bricked.
How to unbrick HTC Wildfire? Pls, help me resolv this problem
I recently bought a new note 2, and everything was good and I love it!
But yesterday I was on the phone to a friend and initially I tried putting him on speaker phone, but the screen wouldn't turn on, only the soft touch keys at the bottom lit up. I thought nothing of it and continued my phone call.
It wasn't until he hung up I noticed i still coudn't the damn thing on. So i removed the battery and re inserted it. Here's where things get interesting though, now whenever i try to power it up, i get a little red light in my proximity sensor (i think) that flashes for about half a second.
I've tried soft rest, which does the same thing ( makes the proximity sensor light up for half a second)
Hard reset which does the same thing.
I haven't rooted the phone or anything. Luckily its still under manufacture warranty and I'll get samsung to have a look at it, but any thoughts on what it could be?

Well, I can tell the that the red light is normal, I get that too and its just because its booting up, when you turn your phone on, what happens exactly?
Thanks for the reply. When I press the power button, around a second later the red light blips for half a second and turns off, but the OS doesn't boot up and nothing happens.

Maybe you too.... Sorry that sucks.
This PSA was sent Flow style from my Note 2 N-7100
Now i am really getting worriyng about this, does note2 has started SDS ?
atleast 3-4 cases are reported with same symptoms.
Anyway can you tell
You were on which ROM when this happened?
Are you getting to reboot in recovery/download mod?
@dingokevin I had a read over the thread you linked, and I fear the worst has happened to my note 2. This seems like a serious issue and even a flaw with the motherboard perhaps? Thank the lord it is still under warranty. R.I.P old friend.
@dr.ketan Im not sure what SDS stands for... Yeah I was running stock touchwiz 4.1.1 I think. No modifications and no root what so ever, and nope :/ I tried holding down volume down key + home button + power but no cigar, just the proximity light flashes briefly.
SDS - sudden death syndrome
And if you are unable to get into download/recovery mode then nothing can be done except send it to service station. it highly suggests sudden death which is very known issue for SGS3.
Replying to your query at other thread, you will get motherboard replacement if it is under warranty.
Ahh thats probably whats happened then. Thanks guys, I'll send it off to samsung and have a word or two with them to see why this is happening to many people!
If possible share outcome here too.

I was just reading up on some possible causes here on XDA with peoples S3's and someone suggested corrupted NAND memory.. I think this maybe the case because before the phone call I had installed Gangster Rio (which i honestly did purchase off the play store, hand on heart) and after playing it for a while decided to un install it and get a refund. Could me doing this have caused the NAND memory to corrupt? The game is a pretty large file...

I highly doubt it was screen damage, imho. I only received the phone last friday and have been cradling it like a fragile little baby, Its never been out of my sight lool.
Maybe i just got really unlucky and ended up with a faulty device.
If screen fault then in such case usually you can hear boot up sound. It seems your case very well fits to sds category only.

Hi Guys,
Got up this morning having left my Note 2 turned on and on charge overnight to discover this same fault -
slow flashing Red light and phone totally dead.
Unable to do anything to rectify the situation.
Still under warranty of course, phone only released in October 2012.
Is this a fault with the phone which necessitates replacement or just a battery problem?
Would be grateful for any advice / guidance / help.
Thanks,
Mike Longley.

It seems also like SDS send it to Repair AFAIK is a chip problem, not battery so you can't do anything to repair it. If it is under warranty and with counter at 0 send it. They must repair it.

and i can even ring the phone and it rings even recieves txt msgs still...
but the screen stays blank...doesnt even light up...i had a look at the sds
posts and other forums i think i might have to replace the screen...
looking on ebay i found a couple for around $300 with the digitizer and
only $15 for the glass screen covers and bezel...
does anyone know where else i could possible get these parts from?
considering the hassles im also thinking i might just post the phone on
ebay...
I can't think how to describe this, so haven't found another thread on here or on google, so have to post a picture.
It hasn't been dropped: When the Sleep Android app woke me up this morning I noticed that there was time-lag between my commands and the phone reacting. This was a bit annoying, but it seem to warm up and THEN it just FLIPPED RIGHT OUT. I have got it working again with a Soft Reset, but it's dodgy and keeps FLIPPING OUT every now and again.
Any idea what I can do?

Becouse I have the same problem this is BFD(Blck Screen of Dead) The only one solution is to repleace the mainboard. If you have warranty go back to stock and relock bootlader and hope they will repear for free or wait until go so bad and the display stop working and they can't see your status on the bootlader. My phone start slowly to die until one day totaly dead and I am happy because before the dead I go back to stock and relock and they changed the phone after one month in service center with new one. I hope you have warranty. Good luck my friend.

yes and not only this the display don't whont to turn on some times, changind resolution itself, doble menu your picture only 3 times when I receive call I can't answare because the display don't want to turn on just sound and many more with each day worse and worse.
i have the same issue ... i think its a hardware problem and i think that's a hardware problem ... try to press near the capacitive button it work for me ... i'll try to explain how it work for me ... i got the same detuned tv only on boot but after all seem right ... when lcd goes off and when i try to unlock the phone i got a black screen ( not all the time but 3 - 4 a day ) and when i press the bottom corners it work again ...
Hey!
This saturday, I noticed something wrong with mt HTC One X (stock rom). It didn't respond at all when I touched the screen, it was active though but the touch didn't seem to work anymore. After like 50 attempts with reboots and all, it worked, but the problem came back later, and again today. I did a factory reset to no avail, as the furthest I managed to get was the part of the first-time start-up where you select WiFi, so that's pretty much unlock + 1 click until it broke again.
Any idea on what's wrong and how to fix it? I'm guessing it's the digitizer, maybe it could be worth for me to open the phone up and see that it looks alright, if that's somewhat easy to do?
Thanks.
Edit: Oh, and when it works, it works for a few seconds usually until it hangs on a random press (keeps that pressed down).
Looks like a hardware failure, go back to the re-seller. You probably still have warranty.
And if you dont have warranty it's easier to replace the digitizer & screen in once. Separating the display from the digitizer is ..... how do i say it correct ...... CRAP

Guess I'll go to the re-seller then and have a chat with them, cause I'm not going to pay anything to fix it to be honest, I'm getting a new phone in 3-4 months so I hope I can survive with my old HTC until then! And if the re-seller isn't keen on doing anything, I'll talk to my insurance company, see if they'd agree to replace it with the HTC One perhaps, fingers crossed.
Okidoki, good luck mate !
