[Help] Radio Module for LT26i needed (no sim card inserted please restart your phone) - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I already searched through the entire forums but I can't see any solutions for my problem with my Xperia S.
"PLEASE INSERT SIM CARD AND RESTART YOUR PHONE" with a sim card icon with a red X mark
(not recognizing any sim cards since I tried 3 different micro sims)
I don't really know what caused this problem. I bought this phone last September and since that I've been flashing different custom ROMS and kernels. The last one I flashed was ROM: XTX v9 with Kernel: RaymanFX' ELiTE - V2.
I tried flashing official firmwares but the problem is still there.
I goggled and found a similar problem but it's not Xperia S but Xperia P. The author said that the solution is to:
1. download and install Flashtool here or other places
2. install flashmode and flashboot drivers from *.*\Flashtool\drivers\ folder
3. download this radio module(u8500_490206_R1G_EC14.rar), unrar and put it to *.*\Flashtool\firmwares\
4. open flashtol -> press "flash" icon -> choose "Flashmode" -> choose LT22i Device - > press OK
5. turn off your device -> press and hold volume "-" hardware button, then plug USB cable in your device. You can see green LED light on your phone
6. hold the button till you see "Flashing finished"
I wanted to try this solution but I can't find a radio module for Xperia S.
The file they are referring is u8500_490206_R1G_EC14.rar for xperia P. Can someone post for Xperia S? or can someone help me find a solution for this sim problem?

Hey i am also facing this issue since 28 Feb i tried all possibilities but still the same
"PLEASE INSERT SIM CARD AND RESTART YOUR PHONE" with a sim card icon with a red X
I don't really know what went wrong, I tried jelly bean leak and den flashed back to XZX 2 and BAM no service. I tried flashing official firmwares but the problem is still there and i noticed something while flashing it says 02/053/2013 11:53:11 - WARN - This file is ignored : simlock.ta so I relock the bootloader and tried again flashing roms however still the same.
I also couldn't mange to find a radio module for Xperia S as my friend JetexXx maybe it could be about the radio i am not sure, however what i know is I am deep trouble as i am unable to get a spare phone i am missing important calls
can someone help me find a solution for this sim problem?

Still Hoping
Let's just hope someone can help us with this problem. I think simlock.ta is not the problem since that file should really be ignored.

I have never flashed anything in my Xperia S and i started having that no SIM icon.
Opened one thread here with problem description and feels like is the same problem - didn't
got feedback but i know a lot of people have this issue with sony phones.
Phone was sent to Sony assistance last week.

last few days i was trying lot of things on my phone and i flashed many roms locked and unlocked BL repaired using SEUS also , however all dem of these things had no effect but today i flashed the jellybean rom and luckily it recognised the sim but unfortunately jellybean leak has no network coverage
breakthrough installed [JB]Unofficial MIUI V4.1 [3.1.11] and everything works fine now.. may be you guys should try this ..

I am really sorry for this bump, but it seems like the same problem exists with other 2012 Sony devices, personally I am talking about the Sony Xperia Miro and Tipo. I have got the same problem on my Miro. I would like to ask you if anyone has got those radio modules. Otherwise, is it possible fixing this problem just by flashing that MIUI ROM?

I am just trying to find a fix. This topic is as close as I can get. If I could just get those radio modules or fix the problem it would help all 2012 Sony device series users. This is why I posted this here, Jesus...

Same problem
I'm having the same problem with my Tipo.
Any solutions to this one yet guys?

flashing jelly bean wont help

Xperia Play R800i probably bricked

Hello guys!
I have been 'playing' around with my bro's xperia play phone, and it is (what I think) now bricked.
First of all it had android 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 on it & it's a R800i bought in Denmark.
Here's what I did:
1 - Downloaded & installed "sony pc companion".
2 - Plugged in the phone & got the drivers
3 - Downloaded & extracted "DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su"
4- Put the phone in USB debug thing & allow unknown sources
5 - Ran "DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su" from the file "runme.bat"
6 - It got rooted succesfully
7 - Downloaded and installed "CWM_Installer-v5.apk" [LINK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840]
8 - Replaced the recovery.tar file with the one posted in #557 [LINK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437840&page=56]
The file is located in system/bin or something.
9 - Installed CWM through the application
10 - Downloaded the rom "XperiaPlay Ice Cream Pureness.ver.2.1" and placed the .zip into a folder (created myself) called ROM.
(DL: http://www.4shared.com/zip/QNPYzoYm/XperiaPlay_Ice_Cream_Purenessv.html
THREAD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822118)
11 - Rebooted into recovery mode through the application (CWM_Installer-v5.apk).
12 - Did this:
1.Factory reset in cwm
2.wipe cache partition
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.Format /system (in mounts and storage)
5.Format /cache
6.Format /Data
7.Install XperiaPlay Ice Cream Pureness.ver.1.zip
8.Reboot now and you are done !
Click to collapse
12 - It rebooted and showed the samsung logo, but then just went black with a slight brightness..
Can't do anything with it now.. I tried removing the battery then placing it in again. The only thing that happened was that I could turn it on again, get a quick vibration with the samsung logo. But then the black screen again..
Hope anyone can help me fix this, as I really don't want to return the phone to my bro as bricked & ****.
ALSO: I'm new at this forum (& really anything to do with rooting/flashing/roms), so please if I have done anything wrong inform me! I would gladly post more info if you need it - but I don't know if I'm missing anything.
Your phone is not bricked. Try to find Sony Update Service software somewhere on the internet (Its no longer on the Sony website). You will promped to switch off your phone, hold the back key when you are ready to reinstall the stock software. Just follow the procedures properly and you should be fine.

Try using Sony PC Companion, if that does not work try to flash one of the R800i files from this link using the flash tool, again in the same method as I told you about the Sony Update Service.

THANKS A LOT !

For future references, how would you recommend me rooting this mobile? And installing the CWM thingy.
Hope you can link me to a guide or something - I seem only to find outdated/fake guides.
(The phone have android 2.3.3 now)

Boot loop on stock Firmware - Never rooted

I am extremely new to android OS... I will just get that out of the way right now...
I am open to any resources or guides that someone may have regarding Newbies info for Android OS or Firmware or Flashing or Rooting.
I do not know what it means to Root your phone or what benefits it provides.
I do not understand what Flashing is exactly.
______________________________________________________________________________________
Phone type : Sony Ericsson XperiaARC - LT15A
Service provider : Rogers Wireless - Canada
______________________________________________________________________________________
I was using the phone, installing apps happily using my wonderful device then it shut down and is now caught in a "Reboot Loop" (thats what my friend said it was called)
It will attempt to boot, passed the sony ericsson logo to my Rogers logo then it reboots. over and over.
I have not rooted this phone..
I pulled the battery, different combinations of sim/micro sd in/out
What do I do?
From what I have researched, I will need some kind of flashing application to refresh my phone to its original state.
To do that, I gather that I will need to find out what kind of Firmware my phone originally came with and some way to get it to stay connected to my computer while it continually tries to reboot itself.
thank you in advance.
Yep. You need to download flashtool as the utility to reformat (so to speak) your phone. You also need a rom to flash, which you can find plenty of from this thread under the "stock rom" sub heading. here's a tutorial on how to flash (btw you need a usb cable)

Well i really feel like an idiot now LOL!!
I just had to click on the "update" button on the sony PC companion then click the "repair" button (just got it yesterday so i don't feel TOO bad)
The update was successful and I am now running the new operating system for the LT15A which what i gather from my research is ice cream sandwich? its verison 4.x
You were so gentle and kind I really thank you for your post! I will look into the resources you have provided. I think i would like to play around with this device in the future so that will be useful information.
For now, my only problem is that my phone has been updated with a language that is not familiar to me so i am going to have to figure out how to change it back.
Thank you again for your kind advice!

Reflash with SEUS or the flashtool, and remove your battery before connecting to the PC in flashmode.

Would you happen to have a custom kernel? Which Sony Ericsson logo is it, the non-moving one or the animated one?
Now, you wouldn't have happened to install a CyanogenMod, Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean rom, would you? I know you don't remember which rom you installed, just trying to spark a memory. Anyway, if you did so, then all you need to do is flash a compatible kernel. You see, if the Sony Ericsson logo you are seeing is the non-moving one, then you have the stock kernel, the one that's incompatible with the aforementioned roms.
If you don't want to get involved with this kernel business, then I've provided a Flashtool guide, so you can at least get your phone to a working, albeit factory reset, state:
First, install Flashtool.
Go here and find what you think your stock firmware was, download it.
Place the .ftf file in your Flashtool/firmwares directory.
Open Flashtool (as administrator if necessary) and click on the lightning bolt in the Flashtool window. Highlight Flashmode and select OK. A new window shall pop-up.
Select your downloaded firmware. I should read "R800i" in the first box and "4.0.2.A.0.XX" (with the "XX" being the number of the version you downloaded) in the second, the contents of the third box varies, so disregard it. There are many options for what to keep/replace during flashing, but I'd recommend leaving them as they are. Select OK. The window will now close and a new window will pop-up shortly after.
This window will detail the proceeding steps: With your turned-off phone (make sure its battery is intact), hold the back key (the leftmost one) while inserting the usb from your computer to your phone, continue holding the key until the window closes, DO NOT REMOVE THE USB.
The Flashtool window will now begin streaming various lines detailing its progress, all you need to look for is the line detailing a successful flash which with then tell you to disconnect your phone, now you can remove the USB.
Go ahead and close the remaining Flashtool window, your phone should now be back to default, factory reset, everything except your phone's bootloader and SIM unlocked statuses, they should be how you left them before.
thanks!

Okay, having not used stock in a long time, I've reverted my rom and kernel! Upon doing so, I noticed little wrong. Though I do remember an annoying prompt when I opened the browser, it'd say "Please insert SIM card" and "downloading settings" would pop-up following it.
Aside from that, I can't recreate the problem you're having. Could you go into more detail?

Well... That's something I have never seen before...
Searched the Q&A and troubleshooting section, and I'd found a thread detailing such an error upon switching firmware. No offence but perhaps I didn't give you enough detail on which firmware to download, and for that I apologise.
Would you happen to know what branding your phone is, and post what it is and which firmware you installed (you can find said information in that third box I told you to ignore in Flashtool)? AT&T, Verizon, unbranded/no SIM/unlocked? I ask this as you may have installed incompatible firmware.
As an example, my phone was unbranded and came with no SIM, the pre-installed installed firmware (and the only one that I find to be fully compatible) was the R800i 4.0.2.A.0.42 UK Generic. In the context of stock roms, I find that it's best not to stray.
Anyway, you've probably already figured out what to do: find the intended firmware and flash it, using the instructions above. I'd recommend gathering some more outside help, changing the thread's title to reflect the current conundrum should be a good starting point.
will do

Oh, sorry about that. I'd only ever experienced an APN problem when one of the roms I had installed had a broken settings app.
Anyway, it's nice to see that you've fixed your phone yourself, congrats!

What CM11 build are you using? The ones from FXP or the official?
I'm currently experiencing a similar problem. I've installed ZnxtEvolution, and it lags a LOT. I tried installing 6 other ROMs, including CM11 (official). All of them worked, but didn't read my SIM. Please help; I'm sick of this ROM.
PS: I'm guessing there's a kind of zip file to flash, or something..? idk :\

Hey there,
I think I understood what you have told and I have few questions to ask,
First were you on stock 4.3 before flashing?

can you or anyone else provide me with working sim cm11 build over here or in pm
and also the way to configure sim from settings if not at startup.
Actually after this my mobile undergone a shot circuit itself so needs a repair so can any one estimate what is the cost of repair of such issue, my estimate was 800rs/ 80EUROS as per some website.

I don't really know how much repairs cost, but after the repair, I suggest you do this:
GOING BACK TO STOCK ROM
1. Backup everything you need (messages, contacts).
2. Download a 15.4.A.1.9 firmware (FTF) in here or here, your choice.
3. Download and install Flashtool from here.
4. Place the downloaded firmware to the C:\Flashtool\firmware, or wherever you put your Flashtool installation, as long as it is in "firmware" folder. (Make sure the file you downloaded is in .ftf (file extension), if not and it is in .zip or .rar, then extract it first.)
5. Open Flashtool.
6. Power off your device. (Prepare your USB cord.)
7. Connect your USB cord to your PC FIRST, then hold the volume - down while connecting it to the other end of the cord. (The phone's LED will light up into green (it means it is in flash mode).)
8. Click the lightning button and select Flashmode.
9. Pick the firmware you downloaded earlier, then click Flash. (MAKE SURE there is no option of "TA" in the list on the right side. If you ever find one, uncheck it.)
10. After flashing, remove your phone from your PC, then power it on. (The first boot normally takes longer.)
11. Set-up everything after the boot.
FLASHING CM11
1. Download a custom recovery and flash it. (I'll assume you already know this one.)
2. Download the latest official nightly build from here.
3. After the download, put it in your preferred storage in your phone.
4. Boot into the custom recovery and wipe /data and /cache.
5. Flash the downloaded CM11 ROM.
6. Reboot into system. (Again, the first boot takes longer.)
That's pretty much it. I hope it helps!
i got this too after flashing fxp343, never happen before now back to stock 4.3 again :/
