New to forum Hi :) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello Everyone im new to this forum. i just recently purchased note 2 and loving it and i want to start rooting and do custom roms. i have t989v note 2 with wind mobile. now my question is would the 1 click rooting method by mike would work? and if so is all roms compatibale with this phone or i have to change radios or baseband. ive been trying to learn about these things for week now and decided to join the forum today. so any help would be much appreciated

Get the note 2 toolkit from the note 2 section it makes rooting very easy as well as installing recovery. Stick with tmobile is the best bet. I've read some guys say they flashed roms from other carriers but I just stick with tmobile roms made for my tmobile phone. And as a first recomendation. I suggest frosty rom amd xone kernel. Great combo blazing fast, awesome battery, and great support from the dev And the the frosty community. And a bit of advice for a newbie..... ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP.
Edit: just noticed you wind. Search is your best friend. Search for roms that are compatible with your phone. And you can ask around in some of the forums you'll find roms that work. Good luck.

Advise on ATT Tilt 2 ROM

Sorry guys if I ask here but I'm trying to flash my wife ATT Tilt 2 for the 1st time and i'd like to get some advises on which will be the best rom available.
I did quite a bit of reading of the ROM Development forum but there are so many ROM's available that it is very confusing to pick a good one at the moment.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thanks
just do a search on the forums....this question has been asked about 500 times.
The best rom is a personal choice as you will see once you start flashing different roms. The reason for this is simple, each chef has his own style and no 2 roms are the same.

I see a lot of Roms... Are any 4.1 roms good enough for daily drivers?

I've been reading alot...and... well I'm not sure. I returned my Nexus 4, for various reasons. So I am looking at either the GNII (Note 2), or the GS3.
I am on AT&T btw.
I am mainly wanting a good CM-AOKP rom that will give me stock goodness with all the extra lovely settings. I'd rather not have anything experimental.
Someone told me this phone was just recently unlocked? If he was correct? So am I to assume there are no good daily driver roms?
Can people for god sake stop posting questions in random sections and post in Q&A section?
to be nice an answer your question no one can answer that what fits someone else wont fit you its a trial and error thing, just keep try them until you find the one best suited for you...
Are you looking to buy an at&t version? If yes then this is not the right forum. This is for international GN III. Recently unlocked? You mean verizon GN III bootloaders? If yes then please read more before buying
what? the last part makes no sense at all. and wrong section bro

I'm still on stock and don't intend to switch until something really interesting comes along. has been treating me great and it's fast without all the trouble of custom roms.

Need help to suggest what to do with SGY

I bought a SGY for my daughter and since buying it, I have flashed it with Jellyblast v3 rom that was famous around 4 months ago. A lot has happened since then and now I am looking for a better rom or tweaks.
Anyway, the phone is getting slower and slower. I am looking for something simple and good for my daughter to use. I do not have time to test with all these roms one by one and then patch some kernels and then some tweak and so on.
I would be very grateful if someone can provide some guidance on what is the best rom, kernel, tweak combo to use right now. Stability and fast is most important.
Stock rom is good for you.

Your own reading and research is your best answer. Opinions are just like watches; everyone has one, but they all say something different! haha I would suggest reading, then reading some more. A good place to start would be here in the XDA Forums. You should look in Android development and in Original Android development for the TMo Note 2. You might be interested just in some of the data there. You can see when the dev originally posted their rom and you can see how much response there is in the broader community.
So the answer to your question is already out there. It is in each and every rom as each developer rightly gave us a unique perspective. So go read, then read some more, and when you are through there, you might read a little. Best of luck to you!

Best aosp rom?

Hi all.
I'm coming from Verizon to sprint, reason being almost all of their phones have locked bootloaders, and I've finally had enough of it.
With the release of the note 4 that came out some months ago, I need advice. A major reason I switched was because I wanted a phone that i could flash an AOSP rom onto and theme using the CM12 theme engine. That said, I'm wondering what do you guys consider the best AOSP rom to be in terms of stability, battery life, being cm12 theme engine compatible, and just overall personal preference. I just wanted some opinions before i actually go out and buy the phone.
Thanks in advance
Buy a nexus 6 , i had it if you love those kinda roms you will be in heaven. I hate those kinda roms so i sold it and got a note 4. But if you have the note 4 already try cm website i think they support note 4 too not sure but if they most things work fine. Goodluck
Well best is completely subjective to the user.
What is best for someone may not be best for you.
#1 rule on XDA is search and do your own research. If you go to the development section you can read about each rom and decide for yourself which ones you may want to test drive.
As for your thread since you are asking a question and a request for assistance from others it belongs in the Q&A section.
Thread moved.
