I have an LG-H815 running the v10c-EUR software. It's been running fine up until today. Today when I turned off the phone and turned it back on, I got a notice of "service disabled" and the phone was showing the search symbol above antennae reception bars for a minute or so and then it would change to a small red "X". I have taken the battery out, removed the Sim card and put everything back to no avail. I tried the sim card in my old phone and it works fine. I did a complete wipe and factory reset and the problem persists. The phone will report "no sim card" if I start it up without the sim. When I put the sim in, it just says "service disabled" and then "no service. " I even tried going back to default apn and then re-entering my straight talk apn and rebooting - still nothing. I have not added any programs lately and I have been using a Qi charger with an aftermarket sticker with no problems whatsoever for the past 45 days. I haven't had so much as a hiccup with the phone until today!
Has anyone else experienced such a crazy and sudden loss of service? Is my radio fried, or is there a software solution to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I sure hope I can get some ideas on how to fix this. I have square trade coverage on this and my only option is to send it to their repair center. That seems like it would be a total waste of time.
Try your sim card in another phone and another sim card in your phone to determine if your sim card is faulty or maybe your sim card reader. I get the "service disabled" message until I enter my pin code.
I tried the sim swap out and nothing. I also was getting a weird phenomenon where very briefly I would get one bar of signal and the no signal warning would shut off, then in a matter of seconds, the signal would fade and then shut completely off again. This looks like it is almost certainly a hardware issue that has nothing to do with the sim card or sim card reader. I sent if off to the SquareTrade service center to see if they can fix it (doubtful). I'm hoping I get a good result from them as I have not LG warranty and bought the Squaretrade coverage at the time of phone purchase.
I'm getting this occasionally. Occurs randomly.
According to posts around here, the G4's stock ROM and stuffs are bad. Only thing to do is wait for them to fix it. Maybe it's related.

Have you been asked for your sim card pin? Maybe we face the same issue?

No, I haven't been asked for the SIM card pin. My problem was definitely a hardware failure. I filed a claim with Squaretrade and shipped it off to their California service center. I just got the phone back today after a week's wait. At first, the service guys were saying it was a software problem and I wasn't covered. Then I called the claims department and read them the riot act and insisted they update my information to the service department about not having changed the software at all when the problem arose and all the steps I had taken to establish rather conclusively that it was indeed a hardware malfunction. Well....lo and behold, I get an update the next day that they had replaced the motherboard and it was now working fine. If anyone else has this same problem and you happen to have squaretrade insurance, the precedent has been established that it is a hardware issue and you are covered.:good:
This happened today and the phone kept shutting off as well after freezing and now won't turn on. It may have hard bricked itself. Going to try another g4 battery at the t-mobile store or maybe get a replacement. Hopefully certain un-backed up things can be recovered.
I reset the phone adding some press in SIM CARD slot and signal was recoverd, seems like hardware issue.
I had the same thing, only after going back to factory settings the phone works fine again...

It happened again and now after going back to factory settings, the problem stays...
Happened to me as well. Removed SIM, mem card and battery and left the phone to cool down. Putting back everything after an hour fixed it.
happened to me just now.
when i press the power button nothing happened, so i decided to remove the battery and restart it.
after restarting service disabled is displayed on my lockscreen. i checked the imei and "unknown" is written.
does anyone here know a fix on this? doesn't have a warranty so i don't know how much LG service center will charge me if i take it to them directly.
It just started to happen to me yesterday after 18 months of use.
Its the very same problems. Im rolling with a LG G3 thoug.
It even did persist after several ROMs clean flashing and even a stock FW flashing.
All of sudden, its working again for an hour or so!
U all need to flash modems of H815 MM or custom via TWRP Or flashfire...usually its a zip file search here on xda
It's the battery!
I had the same "service disabled" nightmare, then I realized the problem started when I swapped in a freshly charged battery. My batteries have been misbehaving recently, and they've probably cycled to their max. When I changed back to a different battery the issue disappeared. I've had this a couple of times now, where "service disabled" would come up, restarting wouldn't help, but switching back to the previous battery did. My suggestion: test your phone with a different battery.

I bought a new battery and, first start with the new battery was ok, but the second restart the problem returned...
With a lot of times trying different methods, I found out that restarting the phone while connected to a charger or computer always works for me (tried this at least 20 times and it always works).
Turning on the pin-code of the sim also seems to do the trick, the phone first displays service disabled and then asks for the pin, after entering the pin, the sim becomes active (I only rebooted like this a few times, but it worked every time).
Had this problem. Done a hard reset which seems to have fixed the problem at least for now ( only been one day! Keep waiting for it to start doing it again but so far so good)
I found out that restarting the phone while connected to a charger works for me too
Hello everyone.
Since a couple of days my phone is getting a strange problem.
Sometimes when I turn it on, it doesn't recognise the SIM.
Sometimes it turns on with no problems, but, randomly, a pop up message appear, saying something like "Mobile data won't be available until you mount a proper SIM" with a progression line under the text, and then the phone, most of the times, reboots. Other times the SIM stops working with no warning.
I have tried the SIM on another phone and seems to work ok. I have tried to reseat the SIM as well, several times.
I was running Fulmics 5.0. I experienced this problem so I upgraded to Fulmics 5.2, full wipe, but the error kept presenting.
I even tried to add a layer of paper over the SIM so it couldn't move, but nothing.
I don't think it's an overheating problem because the error presented even when I just restarted with the phone still cold.
I wonder if it is an hardware problem, because I was running Fulmics 5.0 for several months and I never experienced this problem.
It shouldn't be related to some Xposed module, since I deactivated all of them.
Can anyone please give some advices? I'd like to try everything before taking it in assistance...I have never dropped it, if it is related to the hardware it would be strange for it to come out of the blue at random...
Update:
I tried to flash the last CM13. The phone doesn't reboot, but the SIM stops working as well.
The SIM stops working even when the mobile phone is still somewhere, so I guess it's not like that I move the phone and the SIM loses contact on the SIM reader I guess...
Update:
I sent it to repair it, on warranty. They changed a piece, and now it works.
Hello,
Since 2 weeks ago my phone has been started acting all weird. It started with my Phone freezing and restarting itself one morning. It showed the LG logo for a few seconds, then went black and the same thing repeated. LED did not start blinking at first but after a few loops the LED came on, the animation played and phone turned on nicely. No more such problems during the rest of the day.
Fast forward 2 days. It got worse. The freezing and restarting happened more often and at one point it was in the LG logo -> black screen -> LG logo loop for a good 10 minutes before it booted. It also drains my battery about 10% every single time.
So I decided to do a Hard Reset when I managed to keep the phone running long enough. The hard reset process itself worked flawlessly, no issues during the reset what so ever. I though the problem was over until a few minutes after the hard reset when I was reinstalling my apps, it froze and restarted again.
I started googling about the issue and found a few matches. Some people suggested replacing the battery and some suggested putting a piece of paper between the battery and the SIM card slot from which I did the latter. That actually worked for a few days until the reboots came back and it got worse by the day when it finally was completely unusable since it kept restarting after booting up (usually it didn't even get to that point). Then I decided to try a new battery because it was the cheapest option available at that moment.
At first all looked good on a new battery but still, just a few minutes after rebooting the phone from a new battery it froze yet again and restarted itself. So 25€ wasted on nothing.
At this point I'm starting to run out of options and really would not like to buy a new phone since my G3 is only two years old (warranty just ended in October 2016).
Any suggestions are more than welcome at this point.
Best regards,
Taavi
Yesterday I tried flashing the stock V30B marshmallow ROM onto the phone using LG flash tool 2014. It lasted without restarts for about an hour and then it all started again.
So in conclusion:
A) It's not the battery.
B) It's not the software.
C) Thus it must be the hardware.
Since my warranty is void already, the repair costs would probably be quite large.
I think the only chance left for me is to suck it up and buy a new phone.
It was fun while it lasted though. RIP.
Funny thing is that after I removed my SIM card, the issues have stopped for ~24 hours. Yesterday I was able to browse reddit and watch videos for almost 2 hours straight with no issue when I had no SIM card in the phone. I will try inserting the SIM card again after I have fully recharged it to see if maybe it has something to do with the SIM card connection.
Put in the SIM card and it didn't even last 24 hours before restarting. Took it out again. Unfortunately it now restarted even without the SIM card so it still must be some hardware failure.
Same issue here. Changed battery, factory reset, rooted and TWRP+CyanogenMod 14.1 flashed and SU granted.
Constant reboots. Sometimes bootlooped until I remove battery
Having the same problem. Tried new battery but it turned out to be a cheap clone that was worse than old battery. Got another from mbuynow which last longer but still restarts but not that often. Tried the paper trick to to avail. Also tried the LG suite to see if it helped but no luck. Running marshmallow 6.0 and have done a full reinstall. Is this likely to be hardware problem?

Cannot tell for sure but seems it is a hardware problem which is really sad since besides the restarts the phone is still in very good shape. I would take it to repairs but as my warranty is already void it would make sense to simply buy a new phone and sell the current one to parts.
I have the same problem... I flashed CRDroid or something with Android 7.0, it booted normally, but then, restart after few minutes... It can boot normally with the usb to computer, but not with charger. It can also boot to twrp, wipe, install and fix the system works, installing other roms works too, and they can boot normally, but it shut down, as soon I remove the cable... I thought it was nougat rom, it change some in system files or drivers like battery options... I'm out of options...

Seems like a battery issue I think you need a new battery if it's working without the wire plugged in

I have 2 phones. This thing seems to puff exactly after 2 years coz they were bought in difrent times and both of them emerge this issue after 2 years for each. boootlops were after few minutes from start. In case of first one new battery was a bingo but i did not investigate second - im going maybe for new phone. Funny thing. Maybe product life time was to planned to good(for producer)?
I was a great phone, longest I have and most customised... Very agile, never had bricked, bootlooped or failed to flash... Thank you for your great support, LG G3.... Rest in Peace... If someone can bring it back to life, I'll be back to that.
I'm counting on someone stumbling on a fix as well. It's still an awesome phone expect for this stupid thing.
I had similar issues but I realized that different SIMs seemed to work with the phone. Went to my carrier and requested a new one. Since then, no issues. Maybe something with the sim card slot?

It happens even when my SIM card is not in the phone. It could easily be the SIM card tray but cannot confirm without taking it to repairs.
Did you try disabling Location?
(I had random reboots when the battery went to 25% and when i disabled Location services,it got fixed)

One of the hard resets I did was from full charge and I didn't enable anything, including location. It still went into the reboot loop.

It might be a hardware problem in some LG G3 phones.
It began rebooting and bootlooping after 2 days, that i had disabled the location services.
Now i'm thinking of getting a new battery but i don't really think it will do any effect..
So i might buy a new phone..

I had the same problem as you,i bought a new battery and everything got fixed.(you need exact the same Model of battery so when you go to a store note the model of the battery)
Temporary Fix
1- Remove the SIM, turn on the phone, put it in Airplane Mode.
2-Insert the SIM turn on the phone.(Don't change Air mode).
3- Turn off auto backup/restore in settings.
4-Go to network setting>Preferred network Type.
5-Turn Off the Airplane Mode and immediately SELECT THE 3G only(Before it catches the signals), in some phones WCDMA only.(Do not Select 4G/LTE/2G).
6-Done
7-Restart the phone.(Now it will not reboot)
Drawbacks:
In 2G signal zone, There will be no signals.
Its a hardware problem,But its a way to trick it.

Hi all,
I bought the phone in the subject almost 3/4 months ago and I always had issues with the sd card I bought (sandisk Ultra 128GB) as, at the beginning when the phone was using Oreo 8.1 the card was constantly resulting as not connected (External card stopped working) however thi swas working despite the error.
I have previously noticed that the phone was rebooting itself every now and then but I never paid to much attention to it.
Since I updated to Android Pie, however, this issue started becoming more persistent. In a day the phone can reboot itself multiple times (sometimes even 5/6 times in a short period) and, although the card is not failing anymore prompting the error message preaviously mentioned, this still keeps giving problems as, right after reboot the card is not recognised and a different message is prompted saying that the card has not been inserted in the device.
The error disappears only after I unlock the phone as this is recognised and the apps are loaded.
Reading through the internet I noticed that many people face the same problem or similar and no fix as been provided as of yet.
I tried everything I could: Factory reset, flashing the stock rom from scratch (following the forum's thread), using the phone in Safe Mode (in this case the card wasn't loaded by the system so no reboot happened or at least not fort the time has been in safe mode) and updating to the latest version of Pie but nothing.
I also ran an hardware test to see if the issue was due to a bad hardware component and I still have a monitoring app in case the issue happens again (as it is really random. sometimes it can pass an entire day before the issue arises again).
Has anyone had a similar issue and found a fix/workaround?
I really love the product and I think this is something that can happen as, by my point of view, this is something caused by the software or the stock rom itself, however I would like this to be resolved as, at the moment, this is really frustrating, plus being a long time issue I think it might cause serious problems to the phone's hardware.
Please let me know.
Best regards to all of you,
Davide
Is your sandisk fake?
You can checked wit app call "sd insight" , but the app only works on old OS (latest i try jelly bean 4.1)
But even your sandisk fake, the only common thing happened is the sd card ejected or android remounting over and over thats all , not until reboot randomly (based on my experience using fake ext sd card)
Maybe you can try with another sd card you have or your friends have, if the symptom happened again , I dont want to judge but maybe its hardware problem? But dont know for sure just my 2 cents bro...

How did you format your card? Did you use internal or external option? Saw few posts with same issues and strange enough all with Sandisk cards.
Hi, anyone experiences random reboot issue in their device? I bought my poco F3 as Second Hand but it turns out when im doing facebook or messenger for a long time, it freezes and reboot. The time frame is after a day or two the issue appears. How to fix the issue? Im running on stock rom 13.0.5 and my device is 256GB variant. Replies are highly appreciated. Thank You!

Yesterday my phone kept restarting, and my Sim card wasn't functioning when it did turn on. It wouldn't even power on after a while, had to wait for about 20 minutes and try again. One weird thing I noticed is I couldnt search settings (setting suggestions wouldn't work) I used an air compressor on the Sim card slot with the cover removed and it seemed to help. But I also did some software changes to see if it would help. like turned off memory extension and cleared dalvik cache and cache with recovery. I'm not sure what exactly made my phone function like normal again.
So after about a day the issue starts again, first my Sim card shows up beside my clock with an X through it,the data icon gets grayed out, I will not be able to access the mobile networks option In settings without my phone freezing and a process has stopped responding message ,and my settings suggestions stop working too. I'm just really confused lol, because it seems like software, but the only thing that actually made my phone work like normal again, was removing the Sim card slot and blowing Compressed air into the phone. Simply removing and reinserting the sim card did nothing, but the air helped.
I can't tell if I'm having a software issue, or hardware issue, or I suppose it could also be the sim card itself maybe, but yeah if anyone can shed any light it would be amazing.

I think something is overheating in the phone. I haven't had any issues since it's been a little cooler weather wise, where I live.
Second guess is the phones been "sweating" moving it from hot outside to cool inside ac, maybe created internal moisture condisation. I'm leaning towards mosture because taking Compressed air to the open sim card slot, seemed to be the only thing that worked.
I am wondering if this is something that can be easily repaired (opening phone and resoldering maybe) or at least that's my hope, I really don't have another phone to use if I send this one away to be fixed.
Edit: So it's been a few weeks now and I haven't had any issues.
I downgraded my kernel to previous version (BaalamKernel-2.1.1_alioth vs newest)
And I've been using my phone without its case in hopes it can breathe better or dry out any moisture that built up over time.
Still not sure if it's hardware or software but knock on wood, no issues so far.
