Are you on Stock ROM? If you are rooted, it doesn't affect apps updating. Are you saying that Market isn't updating to Play Store? Could you elaborate a little more?

to fix this you need to download titanium backup and unfreeze the app market updater. then the market should change to Google play.

didn't you backup your stock rom?
i told you first to backup then install any other roms.
that kernel works i tested on cm9/cm10.and about that sdcard error might buy new sdcad of class 10 will solved it.
ps meta-inf changing only applied when you got status 7 error.its nothing else.its just change updater binary so rom will be installed other thing you faced cz of your wildfire s 2012 model.

Hello
Hey guys, i'm newbie with android phones, just bought WFS.. My buddy told me that it's possible to add a custom rom/recovery/rooting, so here's whats up.
Me and my friend has tried lots of different ways to add custom recovery for flashing custom rom (Cyanogen mod), Bootlocker is unlocked (S-ON still), its rooted (Found from here .zip what flashes custom rom(rooted) from cmd LINK HERE. Phone is i think bought in 2012 february, Android version 2.3.5 | Sense version 2.1 | Kernel version 2.6.35. Checked from boot (Vol down + power) that it's Marvel PVT Ship RL if i can remember right now, at school.. I was thinking is it possible to make somehow make same kind of zip like the link above or any way to get custom recovery. And if you need something info to help me, please tell me. Thanks already guys, hope you can help me with this!

And sorry for maybe bad english
[EDIT2]Finally got CWM working! Now going to try some custom rom <--- Got it working! Awesome

[Q] int2ext in speed droid
Hi everybody, i'm using jelly king 2.0 for about a week now and, though really smooth and beautiful, I'm having data connection loss, so i'm gonna try speed droid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867712.
I was reading about int2ext scripts and if I got it correctly, they kind of substitute L2SD or similar right?
The things I dont' get about speed droid features is whether the int2ext script is already included in the rom or not. Do I have to include it using this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31189532&postcount=87
In this case, adb shell should be run from pc or within the device by terminal emulator?
thanks for every help you can give me
edit: sorry guys, I read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31377729&postcount=1 so maybe i just need to flash int2ext+ script file over the rom. Am I correct?

Just flash the zip via recovery, wipe sd-ext, dalvik cache and cache. Rebot and there you have it.

[Q] HTC Wildfire S - Marvel - Shipped as S-off

Hi to all !
Three weeks ago I got my HTC Wildfire S and it was shipped as S-off.
This is what I get if I access HBOOT mode:

I tried: Gingerbreak 1.20, SuperOneClick v2.0, Z4Root, Unrevoked 3.32 and all without succes to root my phone.
Is there any other way to do this ?
Can I flash Wildfire S with one custom ROM and then try to get root ?
I read about that this official ROM with Gingerbread 2.3.3 still have kind of NAND security.
Is it possible even if the phone is S-Off ?
Can I downgrade to one other, lower version then 2.3.3 of Android and get the root and then again come back to higher version of Android but then with root access, and if yes could someone explain how to do this please ?
Are the ROM's from old Wildfire (Buzz) compatible with Wildfire S (Marvel) and what is the risk to test them and still not to brick my phone ?
Thanks in advance to all !
Since your phone is S-OFF, you could try flashing the official ROM :http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Marvel
On that ROM, Gingerbreak is guaranteed to work (I've done it twice already).
Interesting ,
Shipped as S-Off by mistake ?!?
Some devices are shipped S-off.
This thread is ready to be moved to the General section
O.K.
But is there any chance that later, after update, it will not work anymore as it should work or something like that ?
And how can I preserve (BackUp) this original ROM from this device without root access and before flashing, because if something go wrong then I can restore the original ROM ...?
Greetz !
And to Mods I owe an apologie for posting in wrong section, sorry.
Rooted
I did what LeeCHeSSS has me suggested and now is my Wildfire S rooted and with SuperUser. I didn't use custom recovery.
Thanks LeeCHeSSS !
Dankjewel !
Mine also came with S-off. Did anyone rooted this device? Is there any kind of tutorial for this? I am doing this for the first time in my life..
Look in development section.

I found it! I was looking at the wrong thread! I will try the tutorial I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275.
Just did it and it works! Everything is OK! I have root . Thanks and special thanks to Heritz !
Downgrade to older stock ROM
All what you have to do is to download official ROM as LeeCHeSSS has explained up :
"Since your phone is S-OFF, you could try flashing the official ROM :http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?ca...d&model=Marvel
On that ROM, Gingerbreak is guaranteed to work (I've done it twice already). "
After that you have to download Gingerbreak 1.20 and execute it and after that your device will be rooted.
You don't need custom recovery.
Cheers !
Or just flash a custom rom which is pre rooted.

The only thing I can think of is to get the RUU for your phone from football's thread and run it. Then try installing cwm again. Make sure you get the correct RUU, if you use wrong one you could brick your phone.
Good luck.

Did wipe the device clean before you upgraded to CM7?
If not do this:
Boot back into your recovery.
Under Mounts and Storage select Wipe System and Wipe Data
Once you've done that, try re installing CM7.

I'm trying to do the same thing as the OP. Could you explain what RUU is, or link me to a thread with it please?
EDIT - Nevermind, I found the thread.
Don't know how you'll be able to RUU considering the fact that the most recent one only goes to software version 4.67. Personally I would follow the instructions on how to S-off Hboot 2.18 and downgrade the misc partition, at which time you can run a totally stock Sprint ROM through the bootloader. You'll be unrooted and on a older Hboot but if you flash the right ROM you won't have to worry about locking and unlocking the bootloader; you can also use either Unrevoked or Revolutionary to root your phone and gain S-off

Why don't you just flash the rooted version of the 5.07.651.6 stock rooted ROM? It is available at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671395

Start at step #28. It's actually fairly simple so long as you have ADB set up on your computer. You'll need to be on a Sense ROM, otherwise you'll get an error running the commands when you go to downgrade your misc partition. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any help.

I highly doubt that your phone is hosed. Could be a number of issues not related to your phone. Give it a little while and try again.

The best kernel is the one that works best for you. On AOSP, the Mason kernel worked pretty good for me. I never ran a custom kernel on Sense but I've heard that ca1ne's Underworld kernel is good.

If you are running the stock Sprint ROM rooted, Ca1nes's Classic Kernel is a good replacement and is available with or without SBC. This kernel is available at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557248
