[NOW PUBLIC!] Team Codefire Presents: Project FreeGee For Korea!

The Korean LG Optimus G is now unlocked!
If you have a K, S or L varient, you are now fully unlocked!
Instructions
Please note: this requires root before you can install this! If you haven't rooted your phone yet, now is the time to do so.
As with all currently supported varients, we offer two methods of unlock. The first is connected to a computer. The second is through an apk. The apk cost ~1USD, and is a donation to us. The pc version of freegee is free and always will be free.
You can download the apk here. Else read below for instructions.
Also, ensure that you have ADB drivers installed. This WILL NOT WORK without them.
Before we begin: please make sure you have USB Debugging turned on, your phone is in "Charge Only" mode or MTP mode, and your phone's screen is on and unlocked.
This will allow you to see the root access prompt if your phone asks for it.
Download the .zip for your varient at the end of this post
Extract it somewhere on your hard drive
Ensure your screen is on and unlocked
Run the "freegee.bat" script, and follow the instructions.
Do not run this as administrator! the install will fail if you do so.
Once the unlock is complete, check to make sure you have a "backups" folder now in the folder where you put FreeGee. If not, DO NOT REBOOT your phone.
Even a failed unlock will still show the 'congratulations you're unlocked!' text, read the output to see if you have errors!
You should not see any "adb.exe not found" errors, or "tar: invalid magic" errors. Those would be errors in the script.
An error which you can ignore is "No space left on device" after it says erasing old recovery and boot. That's just a side effect of how we clear the old images out.

Important Information
To enter bootloader, hold volume UP and power.
Upon entering the bootloader, you will notice that there is no 'menu' to enter fastboot or recovery. Unfortunately, since the stars didn't align properly, we were unable to tell the new bootloader where to load the images that contain the menu from.
In light of that, you'll have to navigate the menu blind. Use the volume keys to change selection, and the power key to select.
The choices are (in order of pressing volume down):
Start - boot the phone normally [already selected]
Restart Bootloader - reboot into the bootloader
Recovery Mode - enter recovery (CWM)
Power Off - powers the phone off
So, to get to Recovery, you would press volume down twice then power.

FAQ
Can I flash an OTA after installing this?
No. Flashing an OTA could contain a new bootloader, and it would replace the one we have put on your device. If you flash the new OTA, and it replaces the bootloader but not the boot.img, you could be left in a situation where you could not boot the phone due to a security error. Once you're in that position, the only thing you can do is LGNPST back to stock-- and even then, it is possible that an OTA could enable an anti-rollback feature which would disable LGNPST.
Does this mean I can flash custom ROMs now?
Yes. However, the custom ROM must be made for your device. We're working on a decrapified stock ROM, and AOSP ROMs as well. Be patient for those to come.
How can I uninstall this?
We will be releasing a 0.6 verison soon with easy uninstall. In the mean time you can get on irc, and we'll help you, or you can use the apk in the play store.

Korean variants are F180L / F180K / F180S. L for LG U+ carrier, K for KT carrier, S for SK carrier. L0-1E is a Japanese variant that nobody seems to have a root process for atm.

So, unless you are in Korea, you're in the wrong forum as Shelnutt2 pointed out.

you can find /system/xbin/su in .dz....but it's a secure...It can rm /system/xbin/su when you flash the .dz and boot first

Yes you can use that apk if you've convereted to E975 (this apk is just the same thats on the playstore plus E975 support). It'll give you twrp or cwm, but you should probably update to a newer cwm than what I have packaged. You'll be able to run jellybean with it.

It is possible to flash on it an english or generic european firmware (E975)? It is possible to "convert2 in E975 without breaking LTE.

Hello everyone. I'm really frustrated right now. I successfully converted my F180L to e975 through with the kdz updater. Now i'm having this very frustrating issue. I dont have any signal from the inserted sim card and I cant access my storage.. stucked on scanning media files. Please help me. When I saw my my storage through the app manager it says that my free remaining storage is 70mb and 50mb used. And on top of that I cant seem to get to apply USB debugging. What should I do..? Please help me. Thank you.

Im out of luck... The first thing that i did was I flashed a local kdz to my F180L (Philippines KDZ) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40590031 Then the problems started. Then next is I downloaded the Stock Europe version but the problem is I cant get to flash and even extract the Europe KDZ because I just happen to read that the KDZ updater cant flash a file more than 1gb in size. Now Im still stucked is a unfunctional phone. Nobody seems to know any solution for this. If only someone knows how to extract a more than 1gb kdz or any other methods of flashing a more than 1gb kdz or better yet share a extracted .dz and dll. Please share it. I'll owe you my life....

Flashed E975 rom to my F180K phone and then Flashed F180K baseband. However, LTE signal reception have been significantly reduced compared to when I was still on stock rom. Did I do something wrong? Can anyone share the latest F180K baseband available?

After i reflashed my 180 to E975.. the SIM card doesnt work. Not even in 3G..
what should i do, to activate the phone... ?

When I use this procedure, tjr converted F180K didn't recognise properly the internal memory.... So I wasn't able to copy any file in the device.

LG Optimus G F180L no kitkat update yet

I have not had kitkat update yet for my G's F180L version, is there anyone like me? If yes, so y am i only one? If not so bro when will we get update for F180L version, mine G is of U+

I feel mad now, since the update came out I have been trying to download the update but it sucks, everything else is downloading flowlass like music file video file or anyother thing in my mobile except onething which is the update file for my phone, it just reaches 6mb max and restarts downloading it...
Anybody give me some hope :'(
I even have tried to download this by keeping my sim card out once & most of the times by keeping phone on flight mode

Try to update using the PC.
Download LG PC Suite or LG Mobile Support Tool.
Make a backup first.

LG PC Suite is useless...it softbricked my phone after installing the upgrade....lost all my data (because i trusted the suite that too from LG itself...) and had to pay for it...
eventually reinstalled using KDZupdater...

LG Mobile Support Tool softbricked my F180L on the KK upgrade, and I also lost all my data.

Update the KDZ with update tools you will find on the forum.
Make backup of your EFS Partition and the working baseband and note down the current version in case you want to come back to this restoring everything should. however if it is working now it should be most probably will work after the upgrade also.

Is it possible to root LG G3s (D724) It is the dual sim version of G3 and has lower specs. Can it be rooted?

I tried it, also tried towelroot, but they both show that the device is not supported =/

tried SuperUser and SuperSU complain about the lack of a binary file, so there is no route-access.Maybe someone has already managed to get a rut, please share.

I hope professionals in XDA could help on this issue.
I'm considering to buy G3 Beat in Hong Kong (LG D722k, which is single SIM and LTE)...have been searching in google, XDA, or even China websites... no method could be found to root this very new device...

Unfortunately, stumproot app said it didnot support this device.
Towelroot seems not supporting this device
Ps: I tried them on G3 beat (d722k) v10b

A.you have to talk with the Dev. on Stump Root xda page and ask them.
B.you have to use bruteforce mode.
What is bruteforce mode?
We need to know the right location to "attack", we hardcode it for models/firmwares we have encountered. When Stump hits a device it does not "know" it can bruteforce the location. This can take upwards of 2 hours, but once down (if the phone has an internet connect) it will report it to us, and future builds can include the location.
after you will do root tell them to update this DOC about your Ver. D724.

I have done the first thing by replying their post as mentioned...and I am not sure what meant by Bruteforce mode. As I tired stump root, the "Grind" button is not available and I found nothing else...

but i used ext4 instead of ext2

i just rooted my D722 with Purpledrake. It took 2 minutes. Just follow the steps in command prompt,but don't be scared if you won't have supersu,even the process said it was succesful. just install supersu from market and that's it.
now i have a rooted phone

Now my gf has a totally new phone,xposed framework does miracles. Also G3 tweaksbox works just fine. All settings,except homescreen rotation. Will investigate further to see why it's not working.

[Q] Downgrade from android L on LG G3

Hey guys massive noob here, wondering if it is possible to downgrade from android l to kitkat or to root android L on the G3. I foolishly updated and my root is gone, stump is not working (obviously not made for L yet) and I can't find any help elsewhere.
I need to root my phone and I don't care whether the the best way is to downgrade or to root if it is available for the new os. I will lose my data other than what is backed up via dropbox etc but it's not a big deal for me.

Yes it is possible just downgrade to Kitkat using the lg flash tool then root using Purpledrake

I've fallen at the first hurdle, which firmware do I need?
I have a UK vodafone LG G3, 16GB, LG-D855, and I want the last version of kit kat available. I'm more than a noob.. .
Also why do you choose Purpledrake over stump, is there any difference?

This firmware you want is A6VF, it is near the bottom of the list.
The reason I use purpledrake over stump is because some times it won't root and says "...Not supported" but feel free to try stump if you want and if it doesn't work just use purpledrake.

Hi. I got trapped with unrooting and updating to lollipop lg g3 D85520e-EUR-XX and wanted to return to kit kat 4.4.2. It's the 32 Gb model. Can you help with the KDZ i must download (I can't understand the four first characters of the list!). Thanks!

What network are you currently using? or is it an unlocked phone. A country name would also be helpful as that's how the files are organized.

The reason I use purpledrake over stump is because some times it won't root and says "...Not supported" but feel free to try stump if you want and if it doesn't work just use purpledrake.

The Percentage will stay at 0% until you start the LG Flash Tool , The tutorial tells you what to do

It's unlocked. It's in Spain. Lg g3 D85520e. 32 Gb model. It came with kit kat 4.4.2 and i aplied PurpleDrake succesfully. Then I unrooted to upgrade to Lollipop 5. Ver. 20e. And now, I can't root anymore. So I would like to downgrade to Kit Kat 4.4.2 to be able to root again with PurpleDrake to recover my root privileges, especially to manage apps and their writing to the external sd card.

Replace IMEI with your imei then press enter. Then post your suffix

It looks like if it were the same KDZ already installed... : FW9BRPVE022NAX045560S86/D85520E_00.kdz ??? What I need is the Kit Kat version 4.4.2 10x(a,b,c,...) to downgrade from this one (20e) and be able to root again the phone. I probably have explained myself wrong. Any idea?

Don’t forget you have to wipe all even bteetr hared reset with recovry after downgreat back to 4.4.2...
