[REQ] How to root Optimus G E975

Hi.
I want to root my Optimus G running on 4.1.2. I tried searching the forum, which ultimately took me to a Chinese forum. Unfortunately Google Translate was unable to help me. Can some one please help me root the phone??

interesting, it doesn't work my EU Open e975 when was 10a or 10b, you sure it really rooted?

I can confirm that 10B EU is still unrootable. I've been trying for a few days.

I have tried this on HongKong V10b and Singapore (STL) V10c.
Unfortunately, it cannot root my E975.
It works on HongKong V10a and Singapore (StarHub)V10d.
But these two firmwares both have MTP copy problem(interrupt when copying large number of files from Phone to Windows Desktop).
This problem really drives mad.

For rooting the E97510B you must use the ZV9-ZVB-Root.zip, can find it in the LG optimis G forum "Root LG Optimus G E975 [GUIDE]",
but you must chance/edit the CurrentRoot.bat file
Copy this line
adb shell "echo -en \\x0d > /sdcard/G_security"
And overwrite this line.
adb shell touch /sdcard/G_security
in the batch file CurrentRoot.bat

Worked on my Orange Romania E975 v10c.
Now, is there a way to have CWM recovery on this ?

try FreeGee beta and show if unlock will work

freegee says E975 not supported yet.so....no cwm for us

try the beta und upload the neccesseray files:

at the moment cwm will not available for E975.
twrp is better for all

It worked on my G e975 10bEU. I got adbwinApi.dll error, so I executed the root without adminstrator privileges and it Workd. Thanks !

Strange I do not have the line in question to replace !!
I have been trying to root for 3 days and no luck. Constantly get "failed to copy this and that..." because of "read only file system"
have given up at this point so will have to pass on the custom roms for now,
Funny part is that I rooted no problem a couple of weeks ago but had to reset after a near brick experience !!!

this is my first post, lamentabemente not very encouraging, I have a lg optimus g f180s! I'm from Ecuador and EBAY buy it.
The phone came with software version 4.0.4 f180s10h, so I go to xda and find, you can update the software in the same way that my previous lg nitro hd, ie via kdz ...
I proceed to download the file f180s20b, located on the xda page, and installed correctly.
Upon restart my phone was all perfect except:
It does not recognize the sim card
Does not display the IMEI (unknown), or the IMEI SV (unknown).
The baseban number :APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Done everything I'm desperate and can not find a solution to this problem, your help please!

Did you back it up first? if so restore it, if not you might have to reflash the previous version.

Hello, i don´t have a backup of the 4.0.4 version,,.. but i need install 4.0.4 f180s 10h version please if anybody know the link to download,I would greatly appreciate it

first. there's countless of post here at the G forum that says you have to back it up first before you convert it to e975. of not just flash a f180 baseband/radio cheers

converted F180S into E975
1- flashed E97510D_00.kdz on my F180S
2- hard reset by volume + and Power
3- rooted the phone
4- installed back F180S baseband
now having below issues
1- with F180S baseband ...
cellphone shows IMEI # ..only without SIM
and when SIM is inserted ....IMEI disappears and no network signal
2- with E975 europe baseband......cellphone works but week network signals
3- i have tried three different below kdz ...but problem remains the same
E975 (Europe, Hong Kong, Vietnam)
F180S (original korean F180S20L_00.kdz)
NEED HELP

Downgrade back to ICS works
I downgraded by phone back to ICS (F180S10j_00.kdz)
and now SIM is working OK

I was having same problem but following steps solved it
1- installed official ICS kdz (F180S10j_00.kdz) ...it solved the signal issue... phone was working properly ..
2- rooted the phone and made backup of efs (with App = "Optimus G Tweaker - G Tools" from Google play
3- Copy the backup file (08 file with extension img) from phone internal memory to my PC
4- installed the official JB (F180S20L_00.kdz) .....
5- rooted the phone and copied the efs backup files back to phone and restored efs with same app
6- Now everything is working fine

Firstly, about your IMEI : just flash the KDZ file again (for your phone version, imean F180S)
Secondly, about your signal after convert from F180 to E975, do as below
Your phone has been changed the baseband.
So just flash baseband again.
See your baseband here :

Please help me.
I need a F180L 10q kdz or efs of this version. Bought an optimus g from Hong-Kong. Korean version (U+). I updated to hungarian 4.1.2. and no 3g or LTE. I found this method, but I don't have original ics rom to install it back. I think it will work with F180s10j_00.kdz.
The phone is the e975 international version, so the hardware must be good.

Don't flash korean modem on e975. You might brick your device.
What lte bands are used there?

You need your imei because it`s how a network carrier checks that you are using the sim card in that phone

Please tell me what to do. I have my imei (wrote it down before upgrade), but how can I create a backup of efs. I read about freegee, but - if I'm not mistaken - I need to make it work 3G/LTE, then make a backup of efs.
Please write me a tutorial what to do.

no my friend,i don't consider myself smarter than anyone.i never did, because it's all relative. i may know a litle more than you and somebody else may know more than me.it's just i'm sick of repeating the same things over and over,like a broken record. I always say, READ and SEARCH first. Make a backup,be safe than sorry.
True,this forum is for sharing and help. But you gotta help yourself and think first. "Hey,i'm about to do something that can brick my phone. How do i do it safely?Where do i find the solutions?" If you would ask BEFORE doing,i would be more than happy to provide all the knowledge i have. we all would. but i see more and more questions about repairing damages made by ignorance. Your problem would've not appear in the first place if you would've used this forum. Don't get me wrong, it's your money and your phone,you can do whatever you like/want with it.All i'm saying is don't complain here about the answer you get because you screw up.

Here is the whole story. Bought an optimus g (international verison), when I get it, the phone offered me an OTA upgrade from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2. I never thought that this will cause me any problem. Everything was normal and official, this is why I did not make any backup. This is my third phone from abroad and never had any problem like this. The problem appeard when I put the sim inside. No 3G/LTE. I did search everything, tried almost everything: rooted, unlocked bootloader, tried official ROM (KDZ), unofficial ROM, flashed baseband, modem. Did everthing exactly I read about it at xda forums. Nothing seems to be working. Looks like You are my last chance, so please help.....

The big question is where did you bought from. European E975 came with 4.1.2.

Unfortunetely from Hong-Kong. Optimus G E975 (F180L was on the box). and came with 4.0.4.

Make up your mind already. E975 is not the same with F180L . Different devices my friend.
My next question is,do you have network signal? if you do, have you checked your carrier settings?meaning the APN?

2- Didn't understood link given by you...for orginal kdz .....my IMEI = 354280051408466 & Serial No = 0142846
3- I downgraded it back to ICS (F180S10j_00.kdz) and SIM Started working.....but i need JB 4.1.2 in my phone either korean

ULTIMATELY SOLVED MY PROBLEM ...with little expert advice from my friend Asad Rao
1- installed official ICS kdz (F180S10j_00.kdz) ...it solved the signal issue... phone was working properly ..
2- rooted the phone and made backup of efs (with App = "Optimus G Tweaker - G Tools" from Google play
3- Copy the backup file (08 file with extension img) from phone internal memory to my PC

Can you upload the original ICS rom? I have the same problem. I would downgrade to ICS and back up like yours. It may help to get my phone survive

I had also this Problem but after Restocking to Korean Version and Rooting, Problems went away..

I cant find ics firmware for my F180s. I have same problem like you. The link you posted does not work anymore.
Could you please upload your downloaded file elsewhere.
This is my second time I am posting something. I been using XDA forum for 2 years now and never asked for anything because there is always everything available if we do search. But this time I am unable to find it anywhere.

I have f180s ics firmware but I cant upload it right now. I will try to post it tomorrow
I have done downgrading of my f180L everything is working perfect and I backed up my efs but
when I upgraded it to jb 4.1.2(F180L20H_00.kdz), it didn't show signal then I flashed my backup and signal is OK but wifi gone.
am I doing something wrong?

Thanks kashif555, I'll appreciate it most if you upload the F180S ICS firmware as you have. As it is I'm stuck with a dead phone....it is as good as a 32GB ipod
I'm afraid I can't help you with your wifi issue at the moment unless I do some research on whether one could back up and flash that too.

[HELP!] No signal after flashing Vanir ROM

Hi everyone!
I need help again, I flashed Vanir ROM (http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/geehrc/) but it didnt work, so I flashed it back to Cyanogenmod 11 but forgot to put the sim card back during flashing, but the thing is, after i put the SIM back after flsahing, the SIM card is being detected (it says "No Service - Globe" [Globe is the name of my provider]) but there is no signal. I tried reflashing back to stock ROM... then restored EFS backups... its still not working ("Service Disabled"). I even did a complete wipe, including system folder and reflashing to stock ROM... but its still not working.
Also I tried playing adb earlier because i tried copy/pasting a rom to my phone. i tried adb kill-server, then adb start-server, adb usb, adb devices... did something on these commands affected this issue?

Also, whats weird is that inside my internal storage, there is a folder named '0', it contains my previous storage directory. Its like a copy of the main storage... and also, now, instead of the directory being /sdcard, the directory was changed to /storage/sdcard0...

Could you say which one? I reflashed the baseband, the kdz and even the cwm method by houston...still no signal :\

my phone is F180K, and then i used the kdz from here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
my phone back to stock rom with the signal, at last
but when i convert it to e975, the signal is missing again

Finally fixed mine...had to convert it to e975 and flash the f180s modem

In custom roms made for geehrc/mako based u loose signal if u have korean version.. But there is work around in build.prop

but i guess I m doing it wrong
I can not find your post for build.prop.
can you please explain to what application should I use to edit, what encoding, and what files?

what if the unit is not original F180??
for LG E975 original Firmware i gues its from US version...... unlocked already via some tools from Google.
then suddenly after i-flash for another firmware lost my entire signal... please help to came baclk my signal.

I have d855 on lollipop TWP version.
I've flashed the kdz file of germany and israel..but in the software info it still say TWN.
Even though the version was updated to v20f.
Any idea how to change the region/country of the rom?
Cause i dont have hebrew on tgis rom.
Ps im using thw lg flash tool.

3) Open terminal session. ADB, terminal emulator - whatever gives you shell.
4) Execute this:

my case is slightly different sorry to bump in but i have a d855 flashed with a us version 5.0 already downgraded it to proper 4.4.2 but the model remains d855v and since i received it it has no signal, already tried different qcn, same result diferent roms, same result, so can i use this commands or a variation, to restore d855 as hardware model instead of the d855v

You flashed firmware intended for d855v? Your best bet is to flash some .tot firmware for d855.

already flashed D85520P2 and downgrade to D85510j_00, it goes all ok, but at the end, no signal and same model d855v, but if you search for signal it founds all the operators but it can't register on any, but after he flashed the d855v version it displayed

the issue is not the model number only, the main problem is no signal, and imei is clean and it was working before?
thought maybe restoring its model to original it will be fine again?

I'm having the same problem, only my model was D855 before but now it's showing D855RE. I've been searching all over the place to fix the exact same error "current version not available for user. can't find match cust for NT-code mcc/mnc[310410],subset[FF]" but still haven't found anything :crying:
were you able to fix your problem?

have you found the solution? if then let me know, I m also facing no signal problem. I flashed indian stock KDZ on LG D850. Now phone is not registering to network. What is the solution?

Sorry for the delay but my friend was king of desperate so he took his phone after a day or 2 but after several months now he brought it back to me again, so lets see what i can do now
