So this started happening since last week or so. This doesn't seem to be a firmware/version issue since I've had this issue on both LJ2 and now on MA6.
Sometimes, during normal operation, my GO SMS stops sending SMS messages (it tries to send it but it never does). Once that happens, if I press back to go the inbox, it says No messages found. Now if I open the stock Samsung Messaging app, it says the same and is unable to send any messages.
When I restart the phone, everything works fine.
Any tips? Any solutions?
same with me..? im just using stock message app..
Try cache and dalvik wipe.
Try factory reset next.
If you have rooted then flash stock rom next.

Already tried dalvik cache wipe.
Factory reset too, you can say (I did a full wipe and flashed a new ROM)
And yes I'm rooted. But no one else seems to have this issue :s Why me! Something's wrong with Android's Messaging service.
You look Indian
Maybe I can recommend you to update to dmb2

I don't know what comp and handset refers to, but did you wipe everything before installing the Rom?

I think he means ChompSMS and Handcent SMS
I did wipe everything prior to installing the booted stock 2.2 froyo.( the official version, not the leaked one)

Well, I was able to fix the problem. I'm almost sure its due to error on my end by trying to delete Sprint stock apps. although I can't say for sure which one I wasn't suppose to delete. Anyway, if anybody ever run into a similar problem here is how I fixed it.
1. I backed up all my app.
2. boot into recovery (clockmode) and wipe everything twice. (user data , and cache)
3. re-installed Froyo (the rooted version), and rebooted.
4. restored all my app. via Titanium backup.
5. verified my latest radio, and winmax. (didn't needed to reinstall these two)
6. tested MMS with Handcent MMs, and Chomp MMs, and with the original htc mms and they all worked.
I would like to thank to all that reply to my thread at my hour of need. hope the above will help another Evo user.

Thanks for that. Trying it now. Hope it works as I have the same problem.
Yesterday when i had updated my rom, i turned my phone on, the problem already started 1st thing that showed up was saying that i have to force close com.htc.bg and immediatley after com.htc.bgp:S, i'm not able to go in weather and in the settings(accounts&sync) i can't enter facebook to delete it. It give me a FC message and goes back to the homescreen, even while playing games this happens? Any solution without a full wipe, have a lot of apps, it takes years to backup and restore... only if i have to i will..
any help?
BTW: rom is InsterCoin v33, v32 had no problems
Wipe dalvik cache (and reflash the rom whiteout wipe). Might help.

thanks but i've already tried it no change only difference that the .bgp FC dissappeared but .bg stayed
nevermind solved my problem
Hi All,
I have a droid incredible that I was running CM7 on. At some point the phone started rebooting randomly when I pressed the unlock button. This happened a few times a day and I eventually realized that these reboots were only happening when I unlocked the phone after receiving a text.
This didn't happen on all texts, but maybe half or so. I've done the following to try to remedy the problem, but it is still occurring:
- wiped cache/dalvik cache.
- methodically removed app by app, cleared app data.
- removed all phone/rom backups.
- wiped data/factory reset of CM7.
- installed latest MIUI rom.
- wiped data/factory reset of MIUI.
I am currently running a wiped MIUI rom with only the apps that came preloaded on the rom. I feel like I've tried everything and can't figure this out!
Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks so much for your help!
It's still happening on MIUI or only on the CM7? Was it a Nightly?
Is messages cache full, or nearly so?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Bull_Moose, I have been using the latest CM7 RC1... never used a nightly. The ROM worked fine for a while and then a few months ago started rebooting after receiving texts. I switched over to MIUI, hoping it would solve my issues...but it didn't.
smtom, Is there a messages cache that can be cleared specifically? I've never seen it. I'm assuming, though, that since I've done several complete wipes of the phone that all caches would have been cleared anyways...
The sheer number of messages, over time, will yield the dreaded low on space notice. This is rendered moot by either backup of messages somewhere using something like SMS Backup +, or deleting threads, and storing your multimedia message attachments to sd or elsewhere. Couple questions : are you restoring messages across or between ROM's? What messaging application are you using?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Hi smtom,
Sorry for the delay. So, I do regularly use SMS Backup and Restore to archive my messages into separate files so that I can occasionally delete all message threads and clear up space.
When I have wiped or switched roms in the past I have always done clean installs, which should clear all message memory, right? I am currently just using whatever SMS app comes preinstalled on MIUI.
My problem with the phone restarting has continued despite all of this... but I wonder if using a 3rd party messaging app could make a difference. Hmmmm.
Ray
RayLJill, have you figured anything out since switching to a 3rd party app? My friend's incredible is getting the random reboots, new sms text messages or not. He is on most current CM7 Nightly after I did a complete wipe/factory reset/format all memory and clean install (he was having this issue on CM7 nighties before i did the clean install, still didn't help i guess)
I keep getting this message popping up "The application Open Sense Plugin Manager (process com.htc.opensense.pluginmanager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then it makes me "force close." I do not receive new text messages or emails at all! Also, none of my settings save. I can't use my alarm or my new voicemails do not show up. I am very confused. My phone is rooted and has been for some time with no issue. If anyone can help I know XDA can?
Are you on a custom rom at all?
Either way, sounds like a software issue, which a factory reset should most definitely clear up.
Yes I am using Konies Elite and have been for 9 months or so with no issues. I dont think its the rom but rather the phone im not quite sure. If I do a factory reset will I lose my root and all my current apps and settings?
Hey,
Yeah just back up any data *text and what ever else you need* and do a factory reset and it should fix your issue.
If you are rooted try wiping cache data and dalvik and reboot the rom and your issue should be fixed! If not try a new rom
I hope I helped if I did please hit the thanks button,
Stevo

You can also boot into recovery/advanced/fix permissions, that should work, try that before erasing everything.

If it was a hardware issue, you would have more problems than just Sense closing. That is a software issue for sure. Since you are rooted, you dont have to do a factory reset, just re-flash the rom from recovery. Be sure to fully wipe data/cache/dalvik first to ensure everything gets installed correctly. You will not lose root, but you will lose apps, which can be backed up and restored with Titanium Backup
Just wipe cache and dalvik and flash the rom over itself you will keep your apps and data but it will reinstall all the stock apps and data from the rom so if you accidently removed something or something corrupted it will be replaced/repaired

Long story short, I was using Package Disabler and accidentally had the Emergency Launcher frozen. Then tried using Ultra Power Saving Mode. Couldn't exit UPSM and reboot. The phone got stuck on ATT logo.
I can't remember why at the moment, but I ended up having to use the Odin file to reflash the latest firmware. Now, the phone app and stock message app (text message) take about 10 seconds to open.
I've cleared the apps' cache and data, and also cleated cache from tecovery. I can't think of what else to do now other than to reflash. I'm thinking of trying the Kies firmware repair, but not sure if that'll help.
Any ideas?

Fixed. I just needed one more factory reset it seems. All my apps and data have been reinstalled and now the dialer and messages apps open in under a second.
