I was at a party and had my phone in my clothes since i didn' have a pocket for it..
It was working fine, came to hotel few hours later and i saw that on my lower part off my screen had a different colour, liiiiiiittle darker just like fog. But it worked perfect...
Then i was going to sleep, i rebootet my phone and had it on charge, the problem was that my phone didn't start again...
I had it on charge the entire night without any red or green lamps showing on.. I came home yesterday and since then i tried with rice, and i tried have it in the fridge and i tried charge it through PC and regular... Nothing is working.... What can be wrong? And what should i do....???
My HTC ONE X is rooted with this rom: Android Revolution HD 18.1
Edit:
I can not do ANYTHING, not even vol- +power...
I turned in my phone today and they said that it is PROBABLY moist that has been casing this.... Fkk, i don't like that...
Well, i was hoping that someone here would answer me and maybe know a trick but like i said i turned it in for service and hopefully i will have it back before the end of March .... Untill then i am using one of my VERY old abd broken Nokia N85, it's really sucky to downgrade like that, damn! Hahaha:cyclops:
Probably a hardware fault my friend. Its strange that a moist would penetrate the tiny little gaps on the corner. I did accidentally splash water to my phone but nothing happened and still working fine till now.:good:

Hey everyone,
I had a bit of a spill with some orange juice the other day right onto my phone.
I pulled it apart straight away and left it overnight to dry out and recover.
When i put it together in the morning it turned on fine and was working fine. I was running it as a wifi hotspot, and running some app updates and it started running like crap. really slow and unresponsive, then the touchscreen stopped working so i pulled the battery and tried to turn it back on.
It then started to not boot. It would show the splash screen and that is all. occasionally it would boot up (after a lot of waiting/pulling battery/trying again) but the touch wouldn't work and it would say it was nearly out of battery (pic of battery with cross through it)
When i boot into HBOOT (vol- and power) it shows TOUCH PANEL-fail which is obviously not good.
After a lot of stuffing around i decided to get a new touch panel... so i did.
It arrived today and i installed it no problems then the phone started just fine. I set up all my stuff again (google accounts, apps ect. cause as part of my fiddling i had wiped the phone) and it was working like a charm. no problems at all, untill i was on a phone call, about 5 minutes in it just went blank.
I pulled the battery and tried to start again and had the same problem as with the orig touch screen!!!
Again in HBOOT, and again have TOUCH PANEL-fail... WTF?!?!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well i pulled the sucker apart again, and just scratched around some terminals and whatnot and gave it a good blow out, stuck it back together and it worked again.
Got the missus to play angry birds on it on the way home and it died just at home (like 30 mins of angry birds)... then about 3 hours later i gave it another go... and now it is working again!
If it stops again i think i'll pull it apart and clean all the terminals and boards a little more, cause it seemed to really help.
Buggared,,,,,
Liquid on a mainborad, rarely seems to be fixed by "drying and etching".
Save your time and aggrevation... new phone.
OJ.... should have counteracted with baking soda... But you could dip it in this solution...... Then dry in a bowl full of rice....
Seriously, get a new phone. Or, you could have hornets and bees congregating around it in the future...
i am tempted by the idea of a new phone... but i think i would want to wait for the SE arc... problem is i need a 850/2100 version for the network i'm on.
Yeah, I know... Had a guy the other day, same situation. Saltwater from a wave.
OJ being a citric acid, and saltwater, being corrosive...
Do the math.
Hate to say it, but you'd been better off with milk...
A lot of phones are on discount nowdays, like the Desire... EDIT; Quad band, covers all the networks.
yeah i know... sadly Milk doesn't work as well with Vodka as Orange Juice does
At least you have humor....
You did a grand job of attempting to revive the life.
I can only suggest an alcohol bath... And not the drinkable kind.
And a good drying in "rice" for a couple days.
Please, no comments about the rice.
Well its still working, so happy days for now.
Still going strong now... maybe i have lucked out and fixed it?

Well apparently i dont... it is still working.
Hey,
Last night I woke up and my HTC Wildfire was very, very hot. I think it was above 50 celcius. (It was one time before 45 celcius but I have the app deinstalled). I plugged out the phone charger and turned my phone off and keep on sleeping.
When I woke up the next morning I first saw that my touch screen wasn't working, I went to Hboot and I saw the message TOUCH PANEL-fail. (I had this once before and after 3 days it dissapeared and I could use my phone again)
After this I noticed more failures. There's a red tiny lamp above the phone when it's charging. Now it's on even while the phone isn't connected to my charger. It flashes constant to on/off and all colour sharpness between. -Edit- The lamp is now off even when I'm charging so the lamp is broke for sure.
When I turned my phone around and looked in the camara it all looked messed up. The lens looks like my phone has fallen on it or something. There are kinda like scars in it but when you look aside you can see little airholes in the plastic or something. Did it meld or something?
When the phone is on, on just normal screen (although I can't do a thing because Touch panel fail) or Hboot the temperature keeps rising and my HTC Wildfire is becoming very hot again. After 30 minutes I'm forced to plug out the battery.
-Edit-
Now after some minutes I noticed my battery level is dropping fast to zero.
My HTC Wildfire is almost 2 years old but I think that should't matter.
This is a whole story with a simple question. How to fix this or is this even fixable? What is happened?
Thanks in advance
-EDIT-
My phone works again, I started it up again for the 1000th time and it suddently worked. The touchscreen works and the red tiny lamp to. The camera is messed up but that damage is not software.
sounds nasty man. Its possible that it fried in the heat. Is it hot where you live? There is an app I use called phone overheat, which moniters the temp of your battery and if it is reaching the point of damaging the phone it sounds off an alarm to let you know. Maby give that a go?

Time for a new phone mate
Hmm... Seems June 1 is a bad day for Wildy as my phone started off same way this morning without the screen working. I played with the phone till 1:00AM before going to bed. This morning, I tried swiping to unlock and bam! Nothing worked. On it till now.
Seems the heat do cause damages as my phone do heat up after some minutes of usage. Although I OverClocked it to768Mhz.
Seeking help please.

Wow, precisely the same. I played with my phone till 1:00AM too...
I live in The Netherlands and it isn't very hot here.
I think I know the problem. Everything works again only the camera is still messed up but thats not software. The only thing that doesn't work is my battery. I think my battery just run out of life and phone was still charging so the battery blocked power or something. That's why it got so hot. It keeps charging but the battery is just dead. The Touch panel failure and cam were just effects of the overheating. When I plug it in the phone doesn't charge and the red tiny light keeps flikkering slowly. Normal it is red or green when loaded.
Although this is my conclusion. I can have it wrong.
I have flashed several RUUs to downgrade and upgrade... Lost my root but still S-OFF though... Yet nothing works. I am downloading the last one (From Asia WWE) which someone said it worked before ripping the phone apart (Will be first time). Will post result anyways. Fed up right now.
-EDIT-
Nothing works as of now. Thinking bout dissecting it. Will try to clean it incase of dust or whatever before considering a new panel. Frustrating June 1st.... err 2nd
-EDIT-
Well, Wildy is on and working again... The backlights came on at first and after a long while, the screen responded to touch. I am happy but I think Wildy needs a change.
Thanks people!
Fair play man. Just so you know the yo remove the revolutionary s-off there is a special process to be followed involving fastboot commands. What it is though I can't remember....

well, to S-ON again, there are only two command lines to enter:
C:\fastboot>fastboot oem mb 9C068490 1 30
... OKAY
C:\fastboot>fastboot flash hboot hboot_buzz_7225_1.01.0001.nb0
sending 'hboot' (512 KB)... OKAY
writing 'hboot'... OKAY
i don't provide links, but the point is that the procedure is not so "special"

Dude, how did you get that working ?
I am facing the same problem,my touchscreen has gone dead overnight.
So I was shopping for pants today, but I forgot I had my Desire in my pocket (front right one, if you want to know).
So, my phone fell on the ground and the battery and the cover flew off.
I quickly bought my pants and rushed out to see the damage...
IT WAS HORRIBLE!
The thing didn't want to boot, all it did was flash the red and green LED...
I (somehow) managed to get into bootloader to see the damage...
That was ALSO HORRIBLE!
The recovery kept restarting (4EXT, the loading screen that says 'preparing boot') and all I could do was take out the battery...
Thank god, Fastboot worked, so as soon as I came home I started running the RUU (from fastboot)...
Again, HORRIBLE!
when the RUU said the phone was gonna reboot into bootloader, it DIDN'T - the LEDs just kept flashing!
So I pressed power+vol- and that did the trick, but after the RUU finished ... again, flashy LEDs...
So, is this a software or hardware issue, and how to fix it (other than going to a guy and pay him to do it, which I'll do anyway if you people (god, no!) don't know the answer...)
I think I'll go to Fastboot next and clear all storage...
EDIT: Held the power button for a few secs, and the HTC boot logo shows up...
EDIT2: THE BOOTANIMATION!!! FINALLY!!!
Still, I'd like to know what the issue was, since it seems like it'll work normally from here on...?
Seems like all I've damaged are the LEDs and the camera Flash (the camera says it's too cold to use flash...)
I'll heat up the battery and report again
P.S.
Sorry for the double post... My PC is laggy today...
EDIT: Can't boot into 4EXT, no matter what... I tried CWM and it worked fine, but 4EXT won't...
And just today, I bought a new SDcard so I'd have more space and speed so I could partition it...
EDIT2: Also, the battery doesn't want to fill up... The second I take the charger out, it shuts down... Looks like I'm in need of a new battery... (curse my pants' pockets for being so big!)
It won't be bad to disassemble your phone and see if some connector disconnected.
How do I do that...? Is there like a hardware manual somewhere...? Because I'll need to know what screwdrivers I have to buy (I'm all out anyways...)
Yeah, it's probably the connector, since I can hear something shaking when I shake the phone (or it's something broken... hope it's the first thing)
Otherwise, there's a little power button glitch when turning the thing on... The LEDs flash and I can only boot if I hold the vol- button (can't do anything, not even bootloader!)
P.S.
I was just waiting when you'd reply (oh, Great one!)
Youtube is a miracle...
You'll need TORX screewdriver (star shape 6 angles), a small one.
Took my phone apart, saw the drivers I need... Just gotta wait till morning so BauHaus opens up...
I saw the tut on how to replace the screen, so that will help... Other solutions WILL be YouTube, since I don't understand anything from those pictures (but the text part of the guide is great)
I found another glitch: The LEDs flash if charging even if the battery is 60 meters away... I don't believe that's a sign of a disconnected connector... Hope it is
EDIT: Installed SetCPU, and my battery has been at 0% for the last 12 hours (without charging)... And the phone works... It just won't turn on sometimes...
Picking up those screwdrivers at about 6 pm
Just one question:
Is it possible for a connector to break? And if so, if one is broken in my phone, is it possible to replace it...? (haven't gotten the screwdrivers yet...)
If not, do I have to replace the whole cable, whole motherboard or only the component of the connector...? Or even the whole phone...?
I just popped it open... Now what? I disconnected and connected every single connector, reassembled it and the LEDs still glitch... And the phone won't go beyond the boot logo...
Could it be the battery? I saw a new scratch today, could I've damaged the battery and that is what's wrong...?
EDIT: Disassembled it again, looking for anything unusual (note that I don't have a single clue about what I'm looking for...)
Looks like I'm leaving the Android phone world... for the next 4-6 years... :'( Good old Nokia, I'm glad I didn't throw you away...
And it appears I'm yet again talking to myself...
Anyways, I'm taking the phone to a check to a repair shop, so I'll know what's wrong...
EDIT: The guy in the shop said a check is free, so I'm just gonna chill and play Minecraft for the next few days until he calls
Meh... The guy at the store checked it (FINALLY!) and he said the motherboard was dead...
And that costs 200€ to repair...
Anyways, I went to another shop and got me an Xperia S...
Goodbye, developer phone
wow 200 for mobo, u could get a good second hand desire that aint pvt1 for 100 lol. ah well hope u get better luck with ur new phone
Sent from my HTC Desire
I bought my Desire a few months ago, in June, for 120€ (PVT3). It was used, but it was the only used Desire in town... (seriously, I was the only person with a HTC Desire in my town (with 200k people!))
Ah well...
Guess I'll be the only owner of a Xperia S in 4 years
Hey guys i need some help please.
I opened my phone up a few weeks ago to blow out some dust that got in behind the screen. But when I put it all back together again. The phone wouldn't boot, but somehow i got it going again. But since then, whilst using the phone the screen will randomly stop responding and then the phone itself will just crash,
Now, when I go to reboot (I have to take battery out and back in) HTC spalshscreen comes on then the screen just slowly goes off within 15 secs (my splash screen is usually on for about 20 secs and the miui splash comes on straight after when working).
I have to keep rebooting until the phone comes on and then it would work fine for 1-2 days before it plays up again.
If trawled through similar problem but still can find an answer. Please help me out guys, I need to get my phone working again as I can't afford a new one as good as this.
If it helps I have been running on miui xj for about 8 months
Many thanks in advance
Hi i read the other day in the desire s threads and when u took the lcd screen off the digitizer (front of the phone) did u damage the tape glue around the edge that holds them both together? Because if u damage it even the slightest bit it and theres the tiniest gap, it will cause the screen to not work properly and give faulse/positive touchs and the phone to not work correct. Maybe this is not ur problem but i thought id say.

Well you theory does make sense, I didn't actually take the digitizer out but I did notice looking through the screen that theres a little gap there thats allowing all the dust to get in there. I have reinstalled ROMs a couple of times now but its still hit and miss. So you could be very right as I don't know what else the problem can be.
Thanks for the response cos I never would have thought of that. I'm gonna strip it properly now and hope to fix it :good:
Nope im still having problems. I reinstall the the rom and itll be ok for a few weeks maybe then itll go on the blink again.
Im starting to wonder if there an issue with the software somewhere. But ive been using this rom for ages and not had a problem with it untill now
So during my holiday my HOX got splashed with a bit of water from a wave. The battery was running on fumes and, when I looked at it, the phone was dead. It did turned on later while in my pocket and I happened to press the power button.
I let it dry on rice and nothing. I made the potential mistake of trying to charge it so it would heat up and it wouldn't charge. I then bought another mobile and, just to try it, I took opened the HOX and hoovered. Nothing.
Miracle happened yesterday when, just for kicks, I tried the charger again. It power up!! Everything seems fine, no visible screen damage, wifi works, everything works just fine but... screen won't respond to touch on the very bottom, say, the capacitive and menu buttons (the ones just above the capacitive ones).
What do you guys think? Is the screen dead there, maybe I didn't put the screen back properly or should I wait as some moister might yet be there?
Cheers!

This is a flashback to me. Same thing happened to me few weeks ago - first 3 bottom buttons stoped working, and now 7 days ago part of touch screen is not working anymore. I am going to replace lcd+digitizer+frame, lucky me nothing else need to be fixed. And IMHO trying to heat closed HTC when water was in it doesn't make a sense as a water will condense (as it is closed) so it would make more damage. Oxidation sucks :/
I do have the SIM slot opened but yeah, that's a tinny opening, not much space for water vapour to escape... it's been a few weeks since I thought it had died though, it's pretty amazing to me that it came back at all. Some tough phones, these...
Anyway, I think I'll try to take the screen out again, I wasn't too careful putting it back in because I saw it wasn't charging or powering up or anything at all.
