Touch Screen Issues - HTC One V

I've been running the CM9 ROM now for a few months.
I noticed that sometimes when I'm tapping the screen fast to type or trying to hit multiple on-screen buttons for a GBC rom that the area I last touched becomes unusable until I lock and then unlock the phone.
Is that a common bug with the rom or is it related to my apps?
Thanks!
FYI: just wondering if anyone can recommend a more stable rom that is more recent. I haven't had time to keep up with the releases on here, but see there is now 'Original' development and Regular development. What's the difference?

Original dev is built from source.
A stable sense Rom is mysense v.
A stable jb Rom is paranoid android.

Looking for AOSP Rom

Hi, I recently upgraded from a HeroC to an Evo, I was running just a plain AOSP 2.2 rom on my HeroC (found it worked a little better than CM6), I was wondering if there is something similar for the Evo since I am having the random wake lock issue with CM 6.1.2. I have taken a look and seen Evervolv (tho the download links for the 2.2 version seem to be broken and the newer versions are based on 2.3 with GPS issues) I have also read about MIUI and might be checking that out just wondered if there was any other stable 2.2 AOSP roms out there.
I highly recommend miui. Try a liquid metal rom...its not aosp but its not sense either. There are aosp gingerbread roms.
Two choices.
MIUI: Aesthetically superior to all other roms, good performance, tons of extra features
CM: Performance superior to all other roms, visually solid AOSP
Thanks for the input, I am setting up MIUI now, like some of it, not sure about other parts. I would love to run CM, but I get that "random" wake lock bug, that kills my battery. I will run CM7 once GPS is stable, just looking for something to tide me over.

[Q] what rom is everyone running?? =) and why?

Lol...
Title says it all...
What rom are u running?
And if u want to say why, go ahead lol
Thanks =)
There is new thread like this (what is the best/most stable/your favorite ROM) created about once or twice a week. So you can just use the search function to find a bunch of opinions without have to wait for people to reply to this one.
Personally, I'm back to Bell stock/shipped ROM with Godspeed kernel. Its the only combination I've tried so far that seems to be completely free of SODs for me (screen of death, screen randomly won't turn on no matter what, unless you pull the battery). But this seems to be a fairly uncommon issue (and not yet solved) that most people don't need to worry about. The stock ROM is also plenty stable, and the Sense camera app is better than Android stock.
Virtuous is good if you want a clean (no bloat) Sense Froyo ROM. Very stable, but not much different than stock Sense, aside from some optimizations and a few added features like trackpad button wake. Lots of people like CM7. Cool if you want the latest and greatest Gingerbread features, and CM extras. But it still has a few annoying bugs.
Mods, can this thread either be locked or merged with the other threads similar to this? Thanks.
im using meXdroidMod meXperia remeX
its just awesome, experia arc merged with cm nightly, just is fantastic

[Q] Slow recent apps on Ice Cold Sandwich

Hi guys,
I have a problem for which i can't seem to find a solution through search. I'm on the latest Ice Cold Sandwich and the recent apps function (holding home button) gets really slow after a while. It seems to me that the function holds to many apps in memory causing it to be slow. I tried nova launcher which made it a little faster but not quite solved the problem.
Does anyone know a way to adjust the number of apps this function holds in memory?
Thanks
Not that I know of. And changing the launcher won't help since recent apps list is not related to it. I was a longtime IceColdSandwich user till Lord Clockan stopped active development for it. It's gotten buggy over time and especially because he was blind developing it without a phone to test on. After some use the ROM UI becomes slow overall. For ICS, I'd recommend aospX. It's the most stable ICS ROM. However it's pure AOSP and won't have AOKP/CM features like IceColdSandwich except the quick toggles in the notification bar. I'd also recommend you they the codefireX JellyBean nightlies. They are CM10 with some AOKP features and are more stable than IceColdSandwich in my experience. There a also JellyTime which is CM10 only. Since these are JellyBean ROMs, they are by default faster than ICS throughout. Everything works including 720p video recording and there are no major bugs that hamper usability.
Of course I'm only talking about AOSP ROMs. There are many stable Sense ICS ROMs if you like Sense.

As sashank said, you're not the only one facing slowing down issues with IceColdSandwich. It seems a lot of users are experiencing slow downs in the overall UI after a couple of days using the ROM.
I'm a fan of Sense ROMs, and there are a couple very stable ones around.
Thanks guys,
Might be time to switch to a jellybean ROM then....

Happy flashing
Let us know how it goes for you..
Yeah, I am in the same boat. IceCold Sandwich while formally rock steady, now is just laggy. I flashed over to Jellytime, but my wifi was so unstable at home that I have axed that one as well. I had Jellytime around B7 and had no issues with wifi. R12 & R13 are completely unusable for me. Oh well, time for something else.

[Q] Need a recommandation for a fast and stable ROM

Hello.
I'm looking for a fast, stable and batterysaving everyday ROM for my Defy+ (red lens) phone.
This is NOT a 'best rom' question, I just want some input to find a ROM among all these GREAT options which is best suited for my needs. As there are loads of ROMs and versions, I'm hoping somebody else have been in my position and have a ROM to recommend!
I have tried Mokee, which was very fast, but a little buggy (dialer FC-ed when 3g) and not very well supported (yet) on Defy+.
Before that I ran the newest Quarx CM10 4.1.2 nightlies, but most of them have some irritating bugs (Wifi ch 11 not working, ringtone bug etc), and I don't want the hassle of having to upgrade the phone every week.
CM9, CM10, I really don't care as long as it is fast and stable.
Before that I ran the Pikachu-rom from TweetyPeety. It looked very nice, but developement is not continued and besides the not-so-great speed there were some bugs unfortunately.
Today I tried the newest CM9 (12-11-18) from Epsilon, but the batterydrain was bad compared to Mokee.
Thanks!

If you want a STABLE rom for DEFY than only back to stock GB and MS2G or CM7.
I have also tried many of the CM10 but if Reability, Speed and Battery is TOP agenda than only GB for now.

[Q] AOSP 4.2 with highest performance

I'm using CodefireX AOSP but the latest stable release is from march and not that stable. Currently I have the SR12 release which is fine but sometimes slow and occasionally I get random reboots.
So I'm wondering is there any really smooth Jellybean ROM for the DHD? Without any flaws like apps not working, some features broken etc. I don't need any fancy add-ons, main priority is stable and fast. I was even thinking about going back to ARHD but I got used to the new GMail and other 4.x features so I'd rather stick with JB or ICS.
Or maybe the DHD is just to old for really smooth JB operation?
I know this question gets asked from time to time but with all the development that's still going on I think old threads are not that useful.

I would recommend CM10.1 RC1 works well and no FC or random reboots, I might try RC5 soon. I was using PipelinerArd last AOKP build before espmartin took the helm and that is also a great 4.2 ROM. If you can kill google maps with greenify and keep apps to a minimum that wake the phone in sleep then battery life can be 36hrs plus with average to good use. Games will still kill the battery because the screen sucks a lot of juice.
I recommand you also the Mustaavalkosta CyanogenMod 10.1 RC5 is the most stable and powerfull ROM form DHD in 4.2.2.
