I searched the web and read the manual, but could not find an answer.
All I am looking for is the way to automatically switch ringtone to "vibrate only" when I am in the office, and back to my regular ringtone elsewhere, based either on GPS location data, or the tower I am connected to. Is there an app for that?
Thanks!
I believe "Tasker" in the Play Store I'd what you are looking for.

I will try Llama. Isn't there one of Samsung functions or apps for that?
Thanks Raven,
I also found Llama, will give it a try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.Llama&hl=en
I was under impression that Samsung provides this functionality built-in?

you're under the wrong impression then..
tasker is what you want
Let me know how tasker works on your device because it seems like a GREAT app but the reviews aren't too impressing.

Its a good app but its confusing to a lot of people so they leave bad reviews. The ui isnt as user friendly as the ios equivalent Activator

It seems this Widgetsoid has been abandoned. The battery info switch doesn't display the correct battery info from the setting.
I contacted the author and got no answer.
So what do you use for toggle settings widget?
Widgetsoid was very good and powerful btw.

It works yes, but if I click it, I got the phone info from the settings.
And not the battery details information.
Extended Controls is not compatible with ICS yet, I read on it's market entry. They are working on it though.

I would also like to know! Thread subscribed. A shame about Widgetsoid.

On the Market entry, at What's New it says "Added Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwitch) compatibily"(sic). I admit I didn't test it yet...

Exactly, especially because I paid for it. Well, for such an inexpensive price, I won't complain much. But this kind of developer attitude make me sad.

FWIW, if you visit the dev's Facebook and Twitter pages, he mentioned this week that updates are on hold because his computer crashed and took his source code with it. He's trying to find a backup, but in the meantime it might be worth a try to contact him via either of those for help with the battery info issue.
Ok, hope he will update soon ...
Great to know it wasn't abandoned!

I use Notification Toggle. It also looks nice with the ICS blue. I paid for extended controls but havent used it in so long ever since Gingerbread.....too many bugs. Quicker is another good app ive used but i like a set of toggles that mimics touchwiz and/or cyanogenmod and this app does that nicely.

I purchased extended controls too. Its a good app.
I've tried several, 'extended control', 'widgetsoid' and switchpro:
- ec and widgetsoid can use notification bar
- none of them can activate the flash
- none of them can activate the gps, only redirect to the settings page, widgetsoid developer states in the facebook page that is an ICS security limitation but official widget is able to activate/desactivate the gps!
- only ec can activate/desactivate wifi tethering
- battery status is ok
- all of them are resizable with BRD Launcher at 241 DPI but not of all them can be installed directly from the market
Until GPS problem is fixed i'm keeping the official widgets

Someone needs to tell him that data doesn't exist unless it is in two places.
It surprises me that people who work on computers or computer related tech fail to back their stuff up.
I had a GPS app way back on my hero that I would love to have again. I can't remember what it's called though and Ive searched for it for quite some time using all kinds of key words here and on Google.
Anyway. The app allows you to look up the street through the camera on your phone and it will show the locations of restaurants, gas stations, pool halls, whatever. All on the screen. Does anyone know what it is called if it even exists anymore?
I hope I put this question in the proper place. If not, please move it to the right place. Thanks for the help guys.
I believe it's called wikitude world browser. Hope I helped.

Not exactly the same app but it's darn close. Thanks so much I_FLY_Z3R0.
Perhaps you're referring to Layar.

That's probably the one, great app, I use to show that off to the iPhone users.

It depends really on what you need from a voice assistant, as Google Now is more of a search/information tool than a full fledged assistant. If all you need is asking about the weather, how to get to locations, good restaurants, random trivia, etc. Google Now is probably the best. If what you need is searching up contacts, sending SMS messages, changing settings on your phone, S Voice is a good option, although there are others.

For searching it is good, but I'm looking for an app that can send/read texts, open facebook, things like that. Vlingo seems to work well, though the first time I downloaded the app, it kept freezing when I tried to go into car mode
Try "Assistant" It's in the Play store, free and an customizable Avatar that adds to it.
I'm using the avatar ROM and it has a weebo app that allows you to use it to do functions automatically based off your location. I've been trying to get it to put my WiFi on and off when I leave my house. Ive let it recognize my location numerous of times. I don't know if I have my settings right or what. Another thing I'm trying to do is create my own rules using this app as well. So anyone with some assistance would be appreciated, thanks.

If you're using that "weebo" app for that, I would highly recommend purchasing Tasker from the play store. Awesome app, frequent updates, and can be set up to do a huge range of things based on profiles and specific parameters, including what you're trying to do.

Basically, Weebo is similar to Tasker, but you can do a whole lot more with Tasker, and since it's been around for years now, there are a whole lot of tutorials on how to program automation in it. The auto-on or auto-off of wifi is one of the more basic things you can do with Tasker (and there are tons of tutorials on it).

Request
Can you please indicate me about cool apps, which improve the phone use experience.
I don't know exactly what I want, there are so many posibilities whit android, I'm sure there must be a lot of cool and/or useful apps. Like recording the call, something that changes the voice, or anything useful, funny, or even weird
Thanks!
Go to Play Store and type in the search bar the application that you want. It will give you multiple apps to choose from related to your search.
Only yourself can know what app you really like to install on your phone.

I mean, telephone call related apps, not apps en general. Most of all, I've seen apps for record the call, but is there some cool app that can replace the original, or automate something using the hardware availability, or any other.
Thanks!
