I'm using the avatar ROM and it has a weebo app that allows you to use it to do functions automatically based off your location. I've been trying to get it to put my WiFi on and off when I leave my house. Ive let it recognize my location numerous of times. I don't know if I have my settings right or what. Another thing I'm trying to do is create my own rules using this app as well. So anyone with some assistance would be appreciated, thanks.

If you're using that "weebo" app for that, I would highly recommend purchasing Tasker from the play store. Awesome app, frequent updates, and can be set up to do a huge range of things based on profiles and specific parameters, including what you're trying to do.

Basically, Weebo is similar to Tasker, but you can do a whole lot more with Tasker, and since it's been around for years now, there are a whole lot of tutorials on how to program automation in it. The auto-on or auto-off of wifi is one of the more basic things you can do with Tasker (and there are tons of tutorials on it).

I dont think we really need those stuff. If you know well what you are downloading and from where you are downloading this stuff are useless.Beside they Consume battery alot.
I never used them on my 4 android devices lol

I use Lookout a lot. It has saved me many times when I left my phone somewhere, and I had to find it. The web interface is great. You can locate it via GPS, make it scream, or even wipe it if you need to. It also does a daily back up of all your pics and calls. Not sure if we need the Anitvirus yet on our phones, but it's nice to have as a piece of mind. Especially when downloading all these third party apps from say XDA (not that members would try to give bad ones, but some links go to shady sites once in a while).
So look out is good? What about avg?

Avast beta FTW

Another really good security app is cerberus doesn't provide any type of virus protection be offers a wide array of lost or stolen options definitely worth a try.

2nd for avast. Don't care much for lookout and I wouldn't give me dead grandmother AVG.

I don't think lookout is necessary, although the locating feature is great..you can try cerberus or seekdroid if you want an app that locates your phone
I like my Roms the way I like my women..... Clean and smooth
I use avast. Use it on my desktop and it's way better than most other anti virus for PC. Avast doesn't seem to use much battery and is very light on my phone. Plus the anti theft feature is the best out there. Period.

All I have to say is Cerberus the best for rooted and non rooted users its like alarm force for my phone

What's wrong with AVG? Im still on the.fence on if I want to use any of it......

I use Lookout mainly for its backup and lost devices capabilities... as long as you are downloading from known sources you should have no need to scan files for viruses.
Quick question about these type of apps: do they automatically enable GPS if lost and you try to find the device?

No it does not enable GPS, but it still narrows it down to a couple feet using triangulation with the surrounding towers and/or wi-fi. I just did it for mine, and the map pinpoints it to inside my living room. Since it also has the ability to scream (actually screams a loud noise) there should be no issues finding it within a few feet while screaming. On that note even if the phone is set to silent Lookout will turn the volume all the way to 100% to scream making it very easy to locate.
My favorite combo is tmobile security (auto location off) with dropbox for backup purposes... less battery drain. (Wont find your phone if its off)
I searched the web and read the manual, but could not find an answer.
All I am looking for is the way to automatically switch ringtone to "vibrate only" when I am in the office, and back to my regular ringtone elsewhere, based either on GPS location data, or the tower I am connected to. Is there an app for that?
Thanks!
I believe "Tasker" in the Play Store I'd what you are looking for.

I will try Llama. Isn't there one of Samsung functions or apps for that?
Thanks Raven,
I also found Llama, will give it a try:

I was under impression that Samsung provides this functionality built-in?

you're under the wrong impression then..
tasker is what you want
Let me know how tasker works on your device because it seems like a GREAT app but the reviews aren't too impressing.

Its a good app but its confusing to a lot of people so they leave bad reviews. The ui isnt as user friendly as the ios equivalent Activator
Which one do you guys prefer and why? I personally cannot find any use of google now while robin is very helpful in my opinion...

I like both but its nice to see a new fully functional voice assistant
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I suggest trying utter!
It is currently in beta but has a distinct advantage over other voice commands which is customizability and it can execute tasker tasks.

I have not tried Robin but will give it a try. I like Google Now. The widget occupy's a 4*4 space on my home screen and it keeps me up to date with the local weather, my next appointment/work schema, how much time it takes me get to work and to get home. Every now and the I will be reminded with a picture and name that a friend on Google+ is having a birthday.
Other cards turn up and when I open Google Search!
The only voice commands I use are simple ones such as currency checks or a quick math problem.
I like Google Now.

Utter uses whatever voice engine you choose. So the misunderstanding part is usually due to the person not saying the command correctly. It has to be exact.

I find that I use Google Now a lot. I rely pretty heavily on searching for locations on my desktop, then having an estimated time of arrival listed as a card on my phone that I can easily set as a navigation target. The ability to pull my calendar events and tell me when I need to leave due to traffic is also quite helpful.
If this should be in questions, I apologize. Is anyone familiar with an app that would be very close to our snote (stylus capability) that would sync with Google.

What part of Google?
Show Some Love
Maybe sync to Google was the wrong way to put it. What I was thinking, was I noticed that when I flashed a new ROM, and brought up the S note app use, all of my old notes we're still there. For that I was very grateful because I forgot to backup the app.
I use a stylus a lot because I use it to draw up drills for soccer practice, to take notes on the sideline during matches in things to cover at half time, training session ideas for my clients , warm up ideas for class, and etc.

I'm sorry; my wording is off. My brain is fried after literally pulling an all nighter to finish my last projects and finals in my educational law and multimedia design classes.
Essentially I want something similar to the S note app where I can use my stylus and has cloud syncing/saving capabilities

Doesn't S-note already sync? I know ive flashed my rom several times (clean) and always my stuff is still there without any sort of restore from TiBu etc.. my guess is that it is syncing maybe to samsung? i know ive logged into my samsung acct as i set up the new rom... and each time everything is there in s-note.. so that would be my guess.. but regardless of who it is doing it with, i think s-note does what you are asking i think.. unless (as above) you are trying to sync it specific to something like google calendar or something
It does sync. However, I am thinking about flashing a ROM that does not have s note app. So I will need to find an alternative

gotcha.. at a loss then.. sorry dont know
evernote should work well as you make an account (and it autofills with your gmail address) and they sync across all devices (i have notes from 2009 lol) i dont know if theres much of a sketchpad type deal with it but i think you can draw if you set the note up right
Request
Can you please indicate me about cool apps, which improve the phone use experience.
I don't know exactly what I want, there are so many posibilities whit android, I'm sure there must be a lot of cool and/or useful apps. Like recording the call, something that changes the voice, or anything useful, funny, or even weird
Thanks!
Go to Play Store and type in the search bar the application that you want. It will give you multiple apps to choose from related to your search.
Only yourself can know what app you really like to install on your phone.

I mean, telephone call related apps, not apps en general. Most of all, I've seen apps for record the call, but is there some cool app that can replace the original, or automate something using the hardware availability, or any other.
Thanks!
