(Q) Alternative to Widgetsoid? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

It seems this Widgetsoid has been abandoned. The battery info switch doesn't display the correct battery info from the setting.
I contacted the author and got no answer.
So what do you use for toggle settings widget?
Widgetsoid was very good and powerful btw.

It works yes, but if I click it, I got the phone info from the settings.
And not the battery details information.
Extended Controls is not compatible with ICS yet, I read on it's market entry. They are working on it though.

Exactly, especially because I paid for it. Well, for such an inexpensive price, I won't complain much. But this kind of developer attitude make me sad.

FWIW, if you visit the dev's Facebook and Twitter pages, he mentioned this week that updates are on hold because his computer crashed and took his source code with it. He's trying to find a backup, but in the meantime it might be worth a try to contact him via either of those for help with the battery info issue.

Ok, hope he will update soon ...

Great to know it wasn't abandoned!

I use Notification Toggle. It also looks nice with the ICS blue. I paid for extended controls but havent used it in so long ever since Gingerbread.....too many bugs. Quicker is another good app ive used but i like a set of toggles that mimics touchwiz and/or cyanogenmod and this app does that nicely.

I purchased extended controls too. Its a good app.

I've tried several, 'extended control', 'widgetsoid' and switchpro:
- ec and widgetsoid can use notification bar
- none of them can activate the flash
- none of them can activate the gps, only redirect to the settings page, widgetsoid developer states in the facebook page that is an ICS security limitation but official widget is able to activate/desactivate the gps!
- only ec can activate/desactivate wifi tethering
- battery status is ok
- all of them are resizable with BRD Launcher at 241 DPI but not of all them can be installed directly from the market
Until GPS problem is fixed i'm keeping the official widgets

Someone needs to tell him that data doesn't exist unless it is in two places.
It surprises me that people who work on computers or computer related tech fail to back their stuff up.

I did notice this from the linked post:
It should work on any custom ROM as long as they are using the default signing keys. If it does not show installed after flashing, you will need the ROM developer to re-sign the apk with their keys for it to work.

I have 4 problems with CM9 alpha 4.
1.I can't move/organize any of my apps around in the app drawer.
2.I can't setup up the face unlock, I tried but it just doesn't work
3. Every time I download a new app it makes a shortcut on the home screen.
4.The clock app always force closes.

1. Get a different launcher, google nova launcher I think it has that ability.
2. You need to be in a clear place with plenty of light for facelock to configure and needs to be there for a good amount of time.
3. Go into the market go into settings and uncheck auto add widgets.

Thank you so much, but I already tested Nova Launcher, and I still cant edit my apps in the drawer.
It also helps to read the CM9 threads like the Tip Sharing thread in General if you don't want to wade through all the posts in the Development thread. The market tip was one of the first ones posted.

[APP] Google Ears from Portal

First the link in case no one remembers where the portal is located: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025645
Google ears has been modded for the Nexus 7 and without restriction so I decided to give it a test run and see if it would go on the GS3 T999 and worked without a hitch, no bugs no glitches.
I figured I would post it up for those interested in case anyone missed it, I'm not looking for credit obviously as I only checked to see if it would work but please give this guy a thanks for doing a great job on this app/widget.
It does say for unsupported countries only but it's working either way.
MOD, My fault I should have known, thanks for moving this to the right section.....
Sweet thanks!

Both the posts you link have 1 problem each in them. The second probably isn't even related to the update but more the way it was flashed (op said flashed multiple times, why?) Or a problem with their sd card.

I'm just curious--what do you use the sync toggle for? I've never wanted to turn that off, but maybe there's an advantage that I'm overlooking. Is it just for when you need to conserve battery charge or data transmission?

I have seen a few other complaints but can't find the posts. Plus if you keep reading down the thread, there are people reporting problems. All these are enough to trigger a question.
I also sense some attitude in your post, I don't know where that comes from . I am simply asking a question, I don't know why that would upset people. If I offended you, my apologies.
