Anyone know if sprint repairs the nexus screen? And how much the deductible is these days for a replacement nexus.
O and I meant TEP not rep... Autocorrect

From what I know they use Asurion or something another. Cost $100 to send them a phone and they send you a refurbished/new model depending on what it is. I haven't had to take my Nexus in, but my Evo I broke twice.
Best bet is to apply for either Radioshack or Best Buy insurance, cost hell of a lot less, and they basically just give you a new phone.
Had to send a gnex about a month ago, 150 with TEP. Got a brand new one back.

Thanks $150 and I'm buying a used one.

OK! So I bended down to pick up my headphones from the floor and my phone was in my shirt pocket. So as I tried to grab it I could reach the headphones so I bended again and while I got the headphones my phone fall off my pocket... it was like 3 feet or less and now I'm screw... I'm paying the Verizon supreme guarantee (the one that costs like 7$) and I don't know how much I need o replace it or at least for them to fix the screen
I need help!
The worst thing is that I was going to gift the phone to my dad because I was going to study outside the country

Wait so your screen broke? Well I think so, just pay Verizon the deductible and they will send you a new phone, that's why you have insurance.
insurance deductible is $50
In 5 lines you dont described what exactly was broken in your phone. Not the best way to get help.
Yes! It broke! The right down area of the phone... is it really 50$?? So I only pay that and I get a new one?

One that doesn't have a broken screen lol

Don't worry about getting a refurb, I have gotten a ton of them from Verizon and never had a problem with any of them. If you do have a problem I believe Verizon swaps them out without much of a fight.
A call to *611 could have spared us from this thread.
good day.
How can the deductible be 50$?
If the rezound is 100???
Can somebody that has gotten an actual asurion replacement confirm this?
sent from my so icey GalaXxy Nexus
the asurion deductible is $99
fastest way to file your claim is at http://www.phoneclaim.com
So I busted my display and SD no logner mounts either. I'm four months out for contract renewl and upgrade pricing. Does anyone have any tips for talking to Sprint and getting it advanced?
Call and ask customer care... They have been known to help a good customer in need if they are able

Cant you also buy out your contract early for like $10 per month remaining?
With 4 months left your etf is only 50 bucks.

Yeah that's a great idea all. Thanks!
i have a white lcd replacement for sale if you wantn to fix the phone and try to sell it to cover the cost of your new phone and your etf cost.
I have an upgrade next month and I want my wife and I to both upgrade to the nexus. But my wife does not want to spend over $200 for both. Amazon has it for $150. I was wondering of people are still willing to spend $100 on the epic. It's in pretty good condition with some minor cosmetic damage in the bottom of the phone.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA
If it is minor damage I might consider it.

As much as someone is willing to pay for it but honestly Sprint in Good Condition will only give you about probably 45 to 60$. And its going for 99.99$ w/ 2 Yr Contract as well.
But as a phone i'd check craigslist around you and see because i have seen people sell it for 150+ and some below that so see whats around you and how much and try their and if nothing works try to sell it here.
Off contract from sprint its around 150 or so... i think. You could put it up for around 100-125.

If you're actually interested in selling this for $100, PM me with pics. My mom needs to replace her LG Rumor Touch with something that isn't an enormous POS.
I checked with sprint about a month ago and I think they were going to offer me $25 for the phone. You could provably do better on eBay.

I got mine on eBay for $71. But that's with a bad esn. Then flashed (converted) it to boost.
Now its worth millions!!
The epic is priceless. Keep it as a MP3/Secondary Gaming Device. Just my opinion.

And it didn't take much to do it either! Was sitting in a patio chair, slipped out of my pocket 18in down to poured concrete. My gnex had taken falls 10x worse and come away unscathed.
Be careful, this big phone is really a whimp in the durability department.
No case, never use them so it is partially my bad but I was really surprised this fall was enough to cause this kind of damage. She is still 100% operational however. I have been quoted $300 and $350 to replace. I do have insurance but am not sure how I will proceed at this point. I may just use it as is for a while versus getting a new one immediately and feeling like I need to keep it in a bubble.
Be careful!

It faired pretty well in the drop tests on youtube. I guess all it takes is the right angle.

Makes sense. More glass. More fragile.
Mines cracked too. Don't even know how it happened. Store refused to mark it as defect. Sprint is telling me to file a claim with asurion on Monday. Its not on the site yet but I'm willing to bet it's the first 200 deductible. Phone works fine and for the note 1 they sell an outer glass for $30. What to do?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
you guys WILL NEED a case for this phone. How to do you guys expect a 5.5" phone (which isnt as durable as a tablet or small phone) with a stretched screen with gorilla glass 2 (thinner but stronger my arse) to actually take hits and falls naked?
Why 300-350? shouldnt it be 100 with insurance?

I was told it's $250 for the deductible. The $300-$350 is the early termination fee.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using XDA Premium HD app
As far as I know the highest for assurion through sprint is $200 at this point. I would assume this phone would be on the top tier for deductibles. That was according to the packet that I received recently, along with the increase to $11 a month.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
It is 200 now. I'm thinking of using squaretrade instead.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
200 is correct. Man this sucks. Gotta get a case!

It's tiered based off the retail price of the phone if bought outright. This is the first $200 deductible product sprint has offered.
I hope otterbox hurry's up. Anyone else know of a bullet proof case?

Wow, Sprint told me $150. Yikes.
300-350 is what I was quote by third parties to replace the screen. Seems outrageous.

Is this better or worse than the plan I have with Best Buy? And the only reason I have it is if I brick my phone. I'm pretty careful and have never physically damaged my phone.

This would be good to know, whether bricks are covered. Also will they cover something if we intentionally open the phone and play with the insides.

I prefer TEP because it covers lost/stolen. TEP just replaced my "bricked" phone for free.

$150. Lost stolen, liquid damage and physical damage.
Free. Software (bricked) go to repair center and they will cover everything else.

I just noticed recently that my wells fargo credit card has specific coverage for cell phones, as long as the bill is paid by the card ever month (which mine is, on autopay). I promptly cancelled my $11/mo TEP. 600 bucks coverage per claim, $25 deductible, damage and theft protection. I've never had a phone replaced with TEP, so this coverage makes sense for me.

Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
TEP is Ausurion.
Sent from my LG Optimus G using xda premium
Tep is just the usual insurance from sprint for $11 a month they claims are done through asurion. They send the replacement phone for 150 deductible. Anything else like software issues or defects in the phone are replaced free of charge by sprint when you're paying the $11 a month.
Best buy insurance is $10 a month and covers everything but lost/stolen with a 0 deductible. The drawback is if you need a replacement for software issues they gotta try to fix it first so you're without a phone for awhile.
I'd go with the sprint insurance
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
TEP is Sprint's insurance that it sells but uses Asurion for any deductible damage.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
I'm still lost. I mean I have tep on all my lines which I know is thru Asurion. But what's the purpose of this thread if it's the same Asurion tep? Was the LGOG not covered by Asurion prior to this open enrollment or something?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
This means you can get TEP whenever and not in the first 30 dysfunction. I think?

Ah Ok that would make perfect sense if your thinking is correct. I thought sprint was gon start their own tep. Was ready to ask what are the benefits lol. Weird tho I just activated my old GS2 a few weeks ago and even though it's used sprint didn't hesitate to add the tep when activating over the phone. My screen could've been tore up for all they've known lol
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Sprint Preferred retailers ate ankle to fix physical damage. I work worth these everyday and to replace the screen is not much work. Before you file an insurance claim go to a preferred Retailer they may replace anything for free.

I agree. I never buy insurance and never needed it. My phones are always in excellent condition, never use screen protectors or cases. I'm just careful with it. I don't like the idea of paying $11/mth plus $150 deductible. I can just get buy a phone from craigslist/ebay for a decent price if need be rather than pay monthly.
I prefer squaretrade. Costco sells it now on their phones and its only a $25 deductible
