OK! So I bended down to pick up my headphones from the floor and my phone was in my shirt pocket. So as I tried to grab it I could reach the headphones so I bended again and while I got the headphones my phone fall off my pocket... it was like 3 feet or less and now I'm screw... I'm paying the Verizon supreme guarantee (the one that costs like 7$) and I don't know how much I need o replace it or at least for them to fix the screen
I need help!
The worst thing is that I was going to gift the phone to my dad because I was going to study outside the country

Wait so your screen broke? Well I think so, just pay Verizon the deductible and they will send you a new phone, that's why you have insurance.
insurance deductible is $50
In 5 lines you dont described what exactly was broken in your phone. Not the best way to get help.
Yes! It broke! The right down area of the phone... is it really 50$?? So I only pay that and I get a new one?

One that doesn't have a broken screen lol

Don't worry about getting a refurb, I have gotten a ton of them from Verizon and never had a problem with any of them. If you do have a problem I believe Verizon swaps them out without much of a fight.
A call to *611 could have spared us from this thread.
good day.
How can the deductible be 50$?
If the rezound is 100???
Can somebody that has gotten an actual asurion replacement confirm this?
sent from my so icey GalaXxy Nexus
the asurion deductible is $99

Seller said they dropped it in water. It holds a charge but will turn off shortly after being powered on. They're asking $100. Worth it or should I pass? Sounds like a hardware problem so I don't think its fixable without dishing out a lot of money.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I think you answered your own question. I'd say its definitely not worth it considering a lot of factors like how long it was in the water, what they did after they pulled it out, etc etc...
Replacing the logic board is cheaper than replacing the screen, so as long as the screen isn't cracked it shouldn't be that bad. However, you're not going to be able to easily find a replacement logic board yet. If it is well and truly broken, your best bet is to keep the screen and housing, then buy another Nexus that has a broken screen and frankenstein it together.
I'm looking for the back housing to a Verizon one, if anyone knows where I can get parts for them?

Not a good idea in my opinion!
Its like buying a used car with some issues and spending a lot of money to fix it's known bad issues then after sometime new bad issues will come up and you'll keep fixing it and so on that if u bought a new one wit would have been cheaper! Electronics are even worst!

Cars are different, though. Any issue with an engine that completely prevents it from running is not going to be traceable to any one particular part, especially if all of the parts are really old.
These phones literally have four major components that are easily replaceable, and only two of these components are going to keep the phone from being operational. If you replace both the logic board and the screen, it's practically a new phone.

So a little more than two weeks after I bought my Galaxy Nexus (Sprint), it had a rather unpleasant meeting with concrete. The screen is so cracked, Charlie Sheen is impressed.
Right now they're on back-order with Asurion, so it could be up to two weeks before they ship my replacement. Not sure about the VZW Gnex.
Just wanted to share in case anyone else is as unlucky as I am.
Peace!
Or don't order from sprint...

Yeah, I usually do... but sh** happens.
If I'd have had a nice case, I probably would have been fine. Of course I didn't buy one because "I never drop my phones" -- famous last words.

How is it a rip-off? For $100 they're sending me a replacement. It would have easily cost a lot more than that to get the screen replaced, and the retail price of the phone is $550.

Not too shabby, only better insurance I know of is carrier sometimes, don't remember how much their deductible is. Might get insurance, hate that the AMOLED+Digitalizer are stuck together. Broke the damn screen on my Vibrant twice.

Actually, that's rather fortuitous for you. Asurion typically does not keep new phones on hand and stocks up on refurbs. What your current situation means is that you'll likely receive a new replacement. "up to two weeks" is their standard disclaimer, but you'll probably be without for just a few days while they acquire a new handset from Sprint and then shop it to you after they receive it. Same thing happened to me in January with the VZW GN.

I'm very curious what you guys think. I want an sgn2 so I've been wondering should I even replace my phone with my $100 insurance? My main hesitation is if I get a defective one I may be worse off

If you have the spare $100 laying around I would. It could make a great present to a family member or gift to a kid. Also, its always nice to have a spare in good condition laying around just in case. Furthermore, You might be able to liquidate that phone for greater than $100 in good refurb condition if my local trade-it is anything to go by. They offered my $150 for mine because I was planning on putting it towards a Note 2 to.
Someone on Craigslist it's selling a used nexus for 180 bucks. I have a galaxy s3 now but if o it's a good enough deal I'll pick it up just for fun.

ive seen a lot of threads that contain some form of hardware problem being found after buying a phone off craigslist. I personally don't recommend doing so, others may feel otherwise but this is just my opinion.
Craigslist in general, man.
For $230 is it, you get one off contract and with a year warranty from Verizon.

I bought mine off Craigslist a week ago. Everything is working fine.
All you can do is check for water damage, test all the radios, test speakers and mic, and make calls with it. They are going brand new for $350 and some people just want to offload after getting another phone.

I've sold all my phones on Craigslist and all of them have been in mint condition cause when I purchase a phone, I purchase a case and screen protector to go with it. Craigslist is fine as long as you're not an idiot lol.
Thanks guys. I might just wait for the 4 but I'm really weary of buying LG. I really hope they do multiple manufacturers

Anyone know if sprint repairs the nexus screen? And how much the deductible is these days for a replacement nexus.
O and I meant TEP not rep... Autocorrect

From what I know they use Asurion or something another. Cost $100 to send them a phone and they send you a refurbished/new model depending on what it is. I haven't had to take my Nexus in, but my Evo I broke twice.
Best bet is to apply for either Radioshack or Best Buy insurance, cost hell of a lot less, and they basically just give you a new phone.
Had to send a gnex about a month ago, 150 with TEP. Got a brand new one back.
