I bought ot a screen protector for my new black S3 and put it on, the edges didn't fit, because of the curved screen. I thought it might be the screen protector so i ordered a new one, still the same. Also the sticker that comes with it in the box doesn't even fit properly, just like the screen protector.
What the hell is going on? Have they changed the shape of the black GS3? Because those screen protector work fine on my girlfriends white S3 and my brothers blue S3.
Heres a picture:
http://i48.tinypic.com/2qnoyrl.jpg
This is a Sapphire Black Galaxy S3 i9300, and I have tried on the screen protectors on other Galaxy S3's and they work fine. And if you say I've not put it on correctly, beleive me, I have. Also wasted about 10 matte screen protectors.
Help
Re: [Q] Screen Protector on Black Galaxy S3 doesn't fit?
I've noticed in the shop that the black versions have a more sunken screen / raised edges compared to the original blue / white.

That's what I noticed, if I compare with my girlfriends phone. So how can I find a screen protector suitable for this screen?

I just use it with the borders like that, they i just notice them when the screen is off, not much when on, i rather have it looking a bit weird than risk scratching the screen with no protector
I have an anti-glare screen protector by tech armor and it leaves a gap around the edges for this specific reason. You can try those?

Hi,
I am looking for a screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus that feels as near as possible to glass? I like the glassy feeling while using the device and I would hate to have something rubbery instead. I understand the value of a screen protector and I am looking for something that feels the least like rubber i.e. more like glass and less like rubber.
Thank you,
O. O.

I ordered one, they still haven't shipped yet. Just answering the OP's question, I think glass is what would "feel as near as possible to glass"
I wonder how high over the bezel this will go?
I like this idea, but the LCD is already low enough in the glass, this is just creating more of a gap.
I am really interested in a review though.
just go on you tube and look up sgp glass youll know what the tempered glass screen protector is basically like
Thanks let me know when you get it

Thanks Alex1123 Yes, I am looking for a "tempered glass" screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus. Do you have any clue who sells them.
I went to the SGP website and they clearly have a Tempered Glass screen protector for the IPhone 4 e.g. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/ap...tor-glas-t-premium-tempered-glass-series.html
On the other hand they do not seem to have this for the Galaxy Nexus e.g. http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/google.html this is their list. They have other screen protectors - but not the tempered glass version which I want.
Do you know of any other brands that sell tempered glass screen protector for the Galaxy Nexus Phone?
Thank you,
O. O.

Dear Big Cam
While we are waiting for EvilOlivE to receive his screen protector I wanted to make two points:
First, the link posted above http://www.xgearlive.com/products/android/samsung/fantom mentions that the screen protector has a thickness of 0.4 mm. I am not experienced with smart phones, so do you think this would still cause a problem.
Second, the article at http://www.droid-life.com/2012/06/1...ectors-for-the-galaxy-nexus-up-for-pre-order/ mentions that you should use coupon code NEXUSFTW to get $5 off. This is just in case someone else is ordering.

Ive been using screen protector since i got my nexus, early this year. but after seeing my friend who has a HTC Sensation, with no screen protection for over a year, and his screen is really scratch less, made me rip off the protector and just enjoy my device ! now myself im advertising for everyone to remove their screen protectors , by showing all my friends around with a live example how good the screens are already by taking car key and sliding it over my screen multiple times and no scratches are left on the screen.

I wouldnt have done that if I were you. Our phone's screens are strong, but not as strong as gorilla glass. I dropped my nexus 4 days after I got it with no case and screen protector. They were still getting shipped from online. It dropped from average chair height and fell out of my lose pockets from my basketball shorts. No damage or anything on the phone except a 4 very little dings and a scratch near the front camera. I was lucky it wasnt on the camera or on the screen. It was on the black border. I'd say our screens are 3/4 or 2/3 as stong as the average phone with gorilla glass.
Well....just be careful wut ever u do Cuz.....a co worker from A friend of mine bought his nexus online had it for a week.....dropped it....a thin ....long crack resembling a backwards "c" formed on his screen......he paid 500-ish.....total for his phone....I paid him 200.....everything..phone..box ..cables....brand new everything...just the crack on the screen....be care full...might be scratch resistant....but not too sure Bout shocks....

Wow, $30 for screen protector! One would almost want a screen protector for this screen protector at this price . I also wonder (when it ships) how it would play with curved glass on Galaxy Nexus. The curve is not big but glass is not as flexible as regular film.
For what it matters, I went with real cheappo $4 for 5 film and I like it better, sensitivity wise then naked screen. It's smoother and finger can glide on it without getting stuck like on glass. Plus I can attest for anti-glare quality. I can finally run my Nexus in the car at 25% brightness even in the broad daylight and can still clearly see the screen.

Well, watching the video of the one for the iphone, it does bend a bit. So maybe that will help.
At least, I'd hope so.

The guy from the company who makes these posted on the forum (the thread was closed because of the advertising rule) showing the a glass protector for a smaller screen applied on the Nexus to prove that it works with the curved screen. It seems to work fine.
My only reservation with the protector right now is how well the edges would work and how easy it is to apply. Normally I would buy a pair of protectors in case I screw the first one up, but at the price I would have to think twice about it.

On their website, they say there will be cut out for LED. I assume that is for the notification. And I watched a YouTube video where a guy demonstrates applying it and also taking it off with his nails. It seems very easy enough with no residues left on the screen.

I have it. Mine is also in white. The anti finger print film is really nice however, I it comes at the cost of giving your screen protector a different smooth matte finish/look. So what that means is that if you are the type of fellow that keeps his nexus at minimal brightness, and don't bother with this protector. The matte finish will make your screen seem not as dark.
Also, for some reason the protector doesn't cover the whole front. It intentionally leaves a black ring of glass around the protector.. It makes it look really nice at the expense of a not fully protected screen. I like mine cus it fits well with my white housing .
Oh right finally on my version (idk if they have another white version) the white portion is has a white flowers texture aka its not completely smooth
Hope this helps

I bought the tempered glass screen protector from Xgear. Despite some of the bad reviews, I'm very happy with it. You do get the dots on the screen, but I don't really notice them and they are not a bother to me. Then again, a lot of people *****ed and moaned about the pentile screen on various phones. Didn't notice one bit.

Guys I got this phone 2 days ago and bought a Vikuiti Clear Screen protector. The protector looks fine but is useless. The buttons on the bottom of the screen dont work if they are covererd with the protector.
Has anyone found a protector that works with this screen?
Hello,
I have a different opinion about screen protectors, in my opinion you should get a case for your One instead of screen protector because gorilla glass is really working well.
But if you still want to get screen protector, you should be able to find HTC's official protector in one of their retail sellers.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I'm finding the same with the HTC protectors. Home and Back often need a couple of prods to register. Also, I dunno if it was slightly too big by a mm or so, but they don't seal down the edges properly and make it look fugly.
I've ordered some other cheap-brand ones to try with instead...
I found the HTC official ones a pile of crap
Both ended up in the bin, wouldnt stick at the edges of the phone and were terrible. Amazon UK now has a few bad reviews for them, when I ordered before the phone arrived there were none. Re ordered some others, they can't be worse than the HTC ones
Anyone have any experience with previous Spigen SGP screen protectors?
Or their glass (GLAS.t) glass screens?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPIGEN-SG...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item27d1651bf5
Was tempted to buy but I am concerned with the silicon adhesive that it uses to stick itself to the screen. Wondering if it would leave any residue or anything behind if taken off?
Matt
These are good value and work well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321090064869?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
The screen protector is not too matt and as usual assume you'll make a mistake with the first one. The size is very precise and you do need to line-up with the edges carefully to make sure the screen protector is sealed all round. Much better than the HTC ones.

Size wise - perfect width, but too short on length, around 2mm. Pretty matte alright. Looks like nice anti-fingerprint.
Worst part though - it adds something like "RGB grain/noise" to your screen, which is clearly visible especially on white background. Total disaster... And it's visible even from normal viewing distance... I will try to add some photos later.
It's only quick temporary solution for me, before I will get Spigen Ultra Clear.
I previously had HTC oem screen protector on this phone ...poor adhesion and grease magnet. I bought this matte screen protector from imyth at Amazon UK. Good fit, easy application and cheap...only about £2 for a pack of 5. Yes, there is a little brush noise when swiping but I would have that with any matte protector - sgp too. I am happy with it. Good clear image, looks professional and less fuss with fingerprints. Plus it is an eighth of the price of my usual sgp ultra optics.
Here is the imyth seen with and without double dip case (below):
Currently using: BB Z10, HTC ONE and GALAXY NOTE 2
