Any recommendation for screen protector.... - Galaxy S III Accessories

I've just purchased a matte screen protector from amazon, but it doesn't fit the whole phone(just fit the screen-.-)
Is there any suggestion for matte screen protector?

Try Incipio, the case meets the screen protector.
Orrrrrrrrrrrrrr Otterbox defender.

Great fit- covers whole screen. Feels almost like bare glass after a day of use. Awesome customer service, I called and told them I botched the install and they sent me a new set.
I am pleased and I hate screen protectors.

I bought the tempered glass screen protector from Xgear. Despite some of the bad reviews, I'm very happy with it. You do get the dots on the screen, but I don't really notice them and they are not a bother to me. Then again, a lot of people *****ed and moaned about the pentile screen on various phones. Didn't notice one bit.

[Q] Tmobile Galaxy s2 Screen

hi, after reading that the international gs2 has gorilla glass and that the tmobile version doesn't, i was quite disappointed. i have no idea why they would take out the gorilla glass! so should i purchase a screen protector?
Its "tempered glass" but even gorilla glass scratches. I suggest yes using one. Some don't though. Personal opinion.

yeah i have a "anti smudge" screen protector, but it has the rainbow effect sometimes, and it reduces the nice glossy appearance of my phone...and I'm one of those people who can't stand putting anything on my phone haha. any suggestions for good quality screen protectors that aren't too expensive?
I use best skins ever on all my stuff. 12 android phones about 6 tablets few laptops. Works great and you would have to take a knife to my phone to scratch it. Plus they are quite inexpensive. Bestskinsever.com

While it may not be gorilla glass, it's still pretty resillient. As far as screen protectors go, if you usually keep your phone near keys, coins, etc then yes buy one. If not then you should be ok. I used to use screen protectors on all my devices but I stopped believing in them because I usually take good care of my devices either eay and the screen protectors took away the beauty from the device.
It really is just a matter of personal opinion.

I was using ghost armor on my sgs2 until I bought the GNote and tried sgp ultra crystal ( or is it ultra clear? I forget) and loved it! You can't even tell I have something on my screen. So I took off my ghost armor on the sgs2 and tried the ultra crystal, in my opinion it's the best screen protector I have ever used, and I've tried a lot! If it wasn't for the cut out for the ffc you wouldn't be able to see it. No rainbow effect, no orange peel look, no finger prints, no screen distortion, just clear beautiful view, just like the naked screen. I also bought the oleophobic for the GNote, haven't tried it yet, but I can't find it for the sgs2.

I second sgp screen protectors. Excellent and easy to apply. Just be wary of doing the matte option if your looking for anti glare... It will cause it to have a grainy look that is very annoying... Their normal protector is excellent.

I found out the same thing, only after putting the phone in my pocket with my keys. The screen with scratch so I highly recommend that you put on a screen protector
I'm glad this thread hasn't gone retarded with a bunch of assumptions and stuff.
Gorilla glass is just a name. other tempered/reinforced glass can be designed the same way or even better but is not called "gorilla glass".
Like others have mentioned, the glass is pretty sturdy and can protect it from scratches from most day to day objects and items that you use. However, sand in your pocket or on the table can scratch the **** out of the glass because it is compiled by a lot of different minerals.. shoot there might be even diamond in it.
I'm sure most active users on XDA take care of our devices and will be annoyed by the smallest scratches on the screen, so I would recommend a screen protector. It definitely helps prevent scratches and add an extra amount of "cushion" from small drops to prevent shattering your screen.
BTW I was fortunate enough to buy inexpensive screen protectors (like 5 for $4) on amazon and they turned out to be like the SGP ones. They were actually some of the best screen protectors I ever used, it felt identical to the glass. Just a thought if you decide to go the cheap route that there are some good and inexpensive generic ones.

I couldn't agree more. I purchased 1 based off of a post on another topic. And it is her it hi fingerprints you better than anything I've ever used before and I have purchased a ton of screen protectors. In fact, it is almost cut too big and there was one tiny spot where the adhesive wouldn't work. I'm hoping the Amazon seller will replace it if I pay for shipping. Regardless of the faults I just mentioned and the high price, I recommend the hell out of it!
This - hands down!!

+1 for this. I got one as soon as I got my Nexus and it's done great! It holds up pretty decently against scratches and actually fits the entire screen. It's pretty, and applies flawlessly.
The only bad thing, as mentioned before is fingerprints. They accumulate really quickly and I find myself wiping my phone down every few days.
I use BoxWave anti-glare protectors on all my devices. I like the Teflon-like smoothness they give to the screen, and the slight graininess they add to the display doesn't bother me.
I've not had any problems with the cheap ones off ebay. If you get it wrong, it doesn't matter as they're only around 10p each!

[Q] Screen protectors that don't make the screen look grainy?

I finally broke down and got an S3 today and also picked up a pack of the ridiculously expensive stick-on screen protectors that Verizon sells as I didn't want to take any chances in between buying the phone and getting some cheap ones. Anyway, the screen looks very grainy with the protector, especially when displaying lighter images. I really don't mind that much but when I'm taking pictures it really bugs me. I was wondering if anyone knows of a screen protector for the S3 that is durable but doesn't make the screen look all grainy.
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of cases in general, so I bought an Armor Shield full-body protector - essentially it's like screen protector film, but they send precut pieces to protect all of the phone rather than just the screen.
I'm really really impressed with the whole package - the body parts are cool in that they really just give a great grip (the stock phone is really slippery), but the screen protector is really impressive in all the ways screen protectors have disappointed me in the past.
This one doesn't feel rubbery (interestingly, since the body parts add grip), in fact my finger glides on it better than the glass surface. That was surprising.
And, this one doesn't collect fingerprint grease.
I'm betting armor shield sells the screen protectors solo... and probably affordable, I think the whole body package with the screen protector was only $15.
And it's clear, I think for your original question, just avoid "matte finish" screen protectors. Those are the ones with the hazy/grainy finish.

Screen protector. What to choose?

There are two kindes of screen protetors: matte and glossy. What to choose? Advantages and disadvantages of matte and glossy.

Not sure how the good brand matte screen protectors are like, but the cheap ones i recieved were horrible. The quality was great but the screen resolution sucked bad. Gave it a washed out pixilated look to the screen. Took it off with in few minutes. I just ordered the tech armor HD clear see how that one is like. Got it in amazon prime for 7 bucks for pack of 3. So you did choose matte. I once had it and it was driving me crazy. Just feels not right when you touch it. I like glossy ones.
I got the lloyd matte ones and i couldn't take it anymore after two days. It was fingerprint proof and that was great but the pixilation and loss of screen quality was a real dealbreaker. It was like looking at a old tube television really up close. Too bad. I really like how the touch was compared to the hd gloss ones.

The nano clear does not cover 100%. The only screen protector that cover full screen are wet applications or the dry application sgp curved crystal.
Sent from my Galaxy S3 using neighbors wifi
Some of the matte or anti-fingerprint screen protectors make the screen dull or grainy, some don't. I have typically just purchased Spigen crystal Clear but sometimes I just get the ones at the Verizon store too if I am out and need one on a hurry. I tend to avoid the Zagg film ones due to the orange peel affect. Some of the tempered glass type like Spigen's Glas.t (which they are not offering on the GS3) are beneficial as well.
One thing to keep in mind is not all screen protectors work with all cases. Case in point is the Spigen ones with the curved edges, I found they tend to lift and were useless.
I use iSmooth and my friends can't even tell its there. Its a dry application but doesn't cover the whole phone which I'm fine with.

No scratches, also, this is the first time I've used a screen protector on any of the phones I've used. I hate having one but I have to admit, I'm impressed with this one. IMO, the picture doesn't do any justice, thats not a lift, its the shadow on the edges. It's only $10 on amazon
Here's a tip when installing, have a scotch tape near by to remove any lints. It works better than what comes with the product.

+1 for this. I have used several other screen protectors (ZAGG, Spigen, Clarivue and a couple of others), and this one, while not the easiest to get on, works great. Great feel and I like the way the screen looks when it is on. Because it is a matte protector, it is not invisible, but no real orange peel and it is not sticky at all - great finger feel on the screen! And cheap as well!
I hated any screen protector that I put on my Galaxy Nexus, after buying it I put on an Xtremeguard wet apply full body, after 4 months, I took it of.
Screen protectors suck and reduce the usability on the phones at times, some of them are pretty sticky or not as slippery and smooth as the glass.
PIE from AOSPA has never been so easily, I still use a case, but I bought my phone to actually use it, and I've been affecting my usability by babying it. It'll be so worth it unless you're really that paranoid about a scratch here and there.
No screen protector doesn't work for me. I work in a machine shop and metal chips find their way in my pockets daily. I prefer the non anti-glare 3 pack from Walmart or target. I forget the brand but they're cheap enough and don't interfere with usability.
