I have applied the HTC screen protector. It is okay but the capacitive buttons seem to have lost sensitivity. The feeling of the surface is okay but not as good as some matt protectors i have used on other devices. Anyone tried any matt or anti glare protector yet?

The HTC screen protector is a complete piece of ****.
It was literally jaw-droppingly bad IMO.
Threw 2 in the bin and got these terrapin ones which are a bit better but still not great. At least they were very cheap

Do the buttons stop working for about 10 seconds with it on? Mine do. However I don't want to take it off and waste it if it's a hardware fault!

No what I found is that I need to select the home button a couple of times sometimes before my touch is detected. It is inconsistent though. I have ordered a matt screen protector which should arrive tomorrow so will switch and see if there is a difference.

Well ive just ordered the glass one from sgp, good idea or not?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I'm finding the same with the HTC protectors. Home and Back often need a couple of prods to register. Also, I dunno if it was slightly too big by a mm or so, but they don't seal down the edges properly and make it look fugly.
I've ordered some other cheap-brand ones to try with instead...
I found the HTC official ones a pile of crap
Both ended up in the bin, wouldnt stick at the edges of the phone and were terrible. Amazon UK now has a few bad reviews for them, when I ordered before the phone arrived there were none. Re ordered some others, they can't be worse than the HTC ones
Anyone have any experience with previous Spigen SGP screen protectors?
Or their glass (GLAS.t) glass screens?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPIGEN-SG...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item27d1651bf5
Was tempted to buy but I am concerned with the silicon adhesive that it uses to stick itself to the screen. Wondering if it would leave any residue or anything behind if taken off?
Matt
These are good value and work well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321090064869?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
The screen protector is not too matt and as usual assume you'll make a mistake with the first one. The size is very precise and you do need to line-up with the edges carefully to make sure the screen protector is sealed all round. Much better than the HTC ones.

Size wise - perfect width, but too short on length, around 2mm. Pretty matte alright. Looks like nice anti-fingerprint.
Worst part though - it adds something like "RGB grain/noise" to your screen, which is clearly visible especially on white background. Total disaster... And it's visible even from normal viewing distance... I will try to add some photos later.
It's only quick temporary solution for me, before I will get Spigen Ultra Clear.
I previously had HTC oem screen protector on this phone ...poor adhesion and grease magnet. I bought this matte screen protector from imyth at Amazon UK. Good fit, easy application and cheap...only about £2 for a pack of 5. Yes, there is a little brush noise when swiping but I would have that with any matte protector - sgp too. I am happy with it. Good clear image, looks professional and less fuss with fingerprints. Plus it is an eighth of the price of my usual sgp ultra optics.
Here is the imyth seen with and without double dip case (below):

I'm getting the phone soon, and I want an anti-glare one. I looked on ebay and can't find any.
*edit* I realized I didn't even ask anything. Can anyone point me to a website where I can buy an anti-glare screen protector?
Boxwave, AT&T, and Skinomi all have anti-glare screen protectors. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I know off the top of my head.
SGP's Steinheil Ultra Fine Film (available directly from the SGP Store site) is another option.

and i ordered from ebay screen protectors..
they said its anti-glare, but i dont think so.. because its very cheap..
anw.. do we really need screen protector?
it makes less-sensitive the screen..
it hasnt got good antiglare action..
it may not be exactly at the size of the screen
the screen is gorilla glass.. it is necessary to have extra protection?
is gorilla glass really un-scratchable?
from keys the gorilla glass it doesnt make any scratches..
but with something stronger?
e.g phone falls..
if the screen brakes, the screen protector wont prevent it from breaking..
if anyone has atrix or any gorilla-glass phone without screen protector
and believes it's not necessary,
please just inform us!
Do not buy wrapsol screen protector. They are extremely hard to put on and it dims the screen quite bad. Its the one with anti fingerprints. Also, the installation is a pain. There is no room for error. Any dust or lint trapped between the glass and the protector can not be removed with tape. It will beforever there. Im just thinking of removing it since my protector has full of unremovable dirt..

I found it not too bad to apply. Make sure you're in a dust free environment (close the door in the bathroom and turn on the shower - hot - for a few minutes to steam things up).
I've messed up quite badly on an installation (got some lint stuck between the screen and protector) and was able to rectify the problem by washing the protector with soap and water and then reapplying it. Worked great!

I bought the ones from att. I have had protectors on all my phones, out of necessity after scratching a new phone. I don't care for the att ones. They do ok for glare, but are horrible for the clarity of the screen. I am going to take it off. I went for about 2 weeks before I installed it. I really don't want to use one, but I live in Florida and the glass just reflects the sunlight soo well, which in turn really brings out the finger smudges. So I'll get another brand.
Hi guys, recently I got two official HTC screen protectors which I applied terribly and removed. Could anyone kindly suggest a certain screen protector or other form of protection which is working well for them? I have the official HTC pouch and back cover too.

Thanks for telling me about film protectors, are they better than screen protectors, and if they are, in what way are they better?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Film protectors offer better protection & are less likely to peel off at the corners if caught.
Most film protectors actually take a bit of strength to remove.
They are not a dry application, (which I prefer), meaning a can constantly work st it to get it perfect.
Pushing out the water is a much easier way of removing bubbles than on a dry skin.
Films have self-healing technology whereas 'standard screen protectors' do not, this means if scratched - by tomorrow at the latest, that scratch is gone.
Either way, im waiting for a wet application protector, Skinomi have said they are waiting for the release date (not out in the states yet grrr)
I'll just have to be careful til then I think.
Although gorilla glass 2 should be fine without a screen protector, I'd feel a whole lot better with one!

It'll only take a small drop of water which will spread across the screen when the film is applied. As long as you're careful not to get water leak into the holes, there won't be any damage. Apply the drop of water closer to the bottom just in case, since the speaker grill and camera holes are at the top of the screen.
Usually, though, the protectors will come with a 'installation solution' in a convenient, spray-bottle.

i used the HTC ones and put it on perfect no problem, only reason its a little tricky is that it only has one tab and not one each side :/ but then i got a replacement x and didn't do the second one so well but meh i can get more at a latter date
This is a great screen, even better than my SG2.
I never put one on my SG2 and had no major issues with scratches on the display.
I have used my HTC One X now for almost two weeks now, with no screen protector and there is not a single blemish on my screen.
I won't be putting any screen protector on my device, as they always distract from the full experience of the display, IMO!
You can put one on if you like, but you don't need one on this device.
I picked up a One X yesterday from the T-Mobile store and today noticed it had like two tramline scratches across the screen..you can feel them if you run your fingernail over them....although the phone was of course sold as new, the sim removal tool was detached from the plastic and there was fingermarks on the glass underneath the plastic cover they put on them.
Thankfully T-Mobile are sending a replacement on Tues as it also keeps jamming up...back to using my Sensation XE for a bit. Hopefully as they asking for the entire box back they will be sending out a new phone and not a refurb, if they exist yet.
Only thing I can think is a faulty return handset made it into the new stock by mistake.
Still curious how you could mark the glass in this way though !

Yup, Gorilla Glass is harder to scratch, but by no means impossible, and can possibly still be scratched fairly easily. Coming from another device with GG (and hearing reports on other GG phones that I don't own), there have been plenty of people reporting scratching GG with normal use; while others claim pristine GG even after significant abuse and drops.
To each his own, its a matter of how much you prefer the bareback look and feel, versus having some protection. But to me, a good quality screen protector has very little change in feel, little or no change in the look; and its better to have the protection rather than end up with permanent scratches and regret. Good screen protectors also don't build up fingerprint smudges as easily as bare glass.

No, wet application screen protectors wil cover everything.
It's similar to the Galaxy Nexus with the curved glass, only wet application ones will keep all the edges etc...smooth and perfect.
And yea, to people who think that just because it's gorilla glass it's not going to scratch. A tiny grain of sand is enough to give it an annoying blemish. You don't need a case IMO, but a screen protector is always a must.

I couldn't agree more. I purchased 1 based off of a post on another topic. And it is her it hi fingerprints you better than anything I've ever used before and I have purchased a ton of screen protectors. In fact, it is almost cut too big and there was one tiny spot where the adhesive wouldn't work. I'm hoping the Amazon seller will replace it if I pay for shipping. Regardless of the faults I just mentioned and the high price, I recommend the hell out of it!

+1 for this. I got one as soon as I got my Nexus and it's done great! It holds up pretty decently against scratches and actually fits the entire screen. It's pretty, and applies flawlessly.
The only bad thing, as mentioned before is fingerprints. They accumulate really quickly and I find myself wiping my phone down every few days.
I use BoxWave anti-glare protectors on all my devices. I like the Teflon-like smoothness they give to the screen, and the slight graininess they add to the display doesn't bother me.
I've not had any problems with the cheap ones off ebay. If you get it wrong, it doesn't matter as they're only around 10p each!

Pros:
- No fingerprints whatsoever
- Very minimal discoloration
- Finger slides like on paper
Cons:
- Display loses sharpness
- Few mm short of covering length of screen
They make a matte and clear version of the screen. It's a fine protector for me since I prefer the papery feel, but not everyone like clarity trade off.

I use this screen protector too and I got the matte version instead of the clear one b/c I like the papery feel/sound. And I am impressed with the quality and the price. So far, it's been protecting my screen very well, but I did notice that I have to tap my capacitive buttons two or three times on occasions, but I'm not sure if it's due to the screen protector alone since I placed the screen protector on it as soon as I got my phone.
I'm hoping there will be spigen ultra optic..there's only ultra crystal right now. My experience on note 2 is really good. Antifingerprint while maintaining screen clarity
Glass, but the effect is not good, may be because I don't know how to stick it

It's not really your protector: it's probably the flawed kernel that got shipped out. Sprint released an update that fixed things, but it's not worked its way into custom ROMs.
+1 for the matte amFilms though. Great feel and price. I slapped one on my Galaxy Nexus as well just because (if you'd believe it, it's a perfect fit for the screen).

I got my phone from T-mobile though. Does T-mobile have the same problem too?
I use cheap ones off ebay... buy a handful from 2-4 sellers, find one you like and then re-order 10 or 20 more and just change them out once a month or so... screen protectors should not be kept on the phone for a year or more, except maybe glass (Haven't tried any glass yet)
You can probably get a years+ worth of decent protectors for the price of one Zagg at bestbuy... or less!
hi guys.
I have been looking around and trying different cases, however i always end up looking at the official Double Dip htc Hard case, as it looks to be the best one .
Just wondering about the case, asking the people who have used it. I always use Xtremeguard/Invisibleshield wet application screen protectors on my htc One. i wanted to know if the case is compatible with screen protectors? because i have come to experience some cases making the protector peel off.
any responses will be appreciated.

Some screen protectors work, some don't.
From my experience, skinomi and just a generic matte screen protector did not work with the case, but I'm using a gadget shieldz now and it works
absolutely right
bought this cover 2 days ago, unfortunately top (red) part of cover - when applied will peel off screen cover
this because gap for front camera eye, actually bottom side of this hole.
screen protector - nothing special - something from phones4u for 8 pounds
any idea?

I'd say get a "wet" screen protector as they can bend into shape. That's what mine has done, instead of peeling off because of the front camera it molded itself around it. Hope that makes sense

Hmm wet screen protector?
You mean apply drop of water on screen protector before ?

Yeah the screen protectors that need to be wet or have the screen wet before being applied
They're also easier to apply because you can take them off again and re-apply. The only ones I know of are gadget shieldz or skinomi
Has anyone tried putting on the HTC Double Dip case with a Ghost Armor screen protector?

I wouldn't trust that much third party DD cases, i mean, even the HTC ones are doing scratches.

I just received mine that I ordered off ebay /Hong Kong as well. It's pretty nice. I've removed it a couple of times already to see if it scratches and no it hasn't. I just made sure before I first put it on to clean/scrape the inside of any excess plastic.

I'd wait for about a day for it to settle and everything. Apply the screen protector before you sleep and then put the case on when you wake up.
Are wet application type screen protectors the only ones that are compatible with the Double Dip case?
I would feel more comfortable knowing that the screen is protected but I am not a fan of the grippy texture that Zagg usually has. But if it's the only one that works then beggars can't really be choosers.
Edit: Decided to go with the Zagg Invisible Shield. It actually isn't as bad as it used to be. I'm really satisfied with my purchase.
