I've been using trillian on all my Android phones for several years and never had an issue. it worked fine before the update and now it won't sign in at all. just stays in the signing in window forever.already tried reinstalling. tried reinstalling and it doesn't fix anything. anyone else deal with this?
Try fixing permission or reflash rom
Are you rooted? What rom?

Wow trillian. That's a name I haven't heard in years. Didn't even know it was still out!
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I stopped using trillian, they wanted me to pay more money after I purchased it for full price a couple years ago which was supposed to encompass updates and upgrades for life. When out asked them about it they said while they appreciate my money, they feel that since they've added new stuff it was appropriate to ask for monthly payments to offset their development cycle.
IMO instant messenger for android works better imho.

That's odd I'm a pro user as well from the very start. I have a 4 diget number and have never been asked to pay anything beyond the 2 gen upgrade which was like 2004? Since then they have rolled out a ton of updates and never been asked to pay anything.

I didn't get a code, but they found me in their system. When I asked them about it after reading something about being grandfathered in, that's when they told me they felt the need to have me pay more.
Sorry for the rant, but when I pay for something because I was told it was lifetime, I expect it to be lifetime. Besides, open source is the way to go for me.

No issues here.
Sry got off.topic, I'm not having any issue on a unrooted ICS stock and of course it still works fine o. GB. I have seen firewalls
block trillan so I have to ask is this just happen in one place or have tried connecting from say a Starbucks etc?

I knew it would come! Since im on T-Mobile, it won't effect me right away but:

Which takes away a basic core service that's been around before ISO even existed. Remember desktop search from Windows 95?
I COMPLETELY DEPEND on the global search mechanism on the Google widget because i keep everything sorted using keywords. I have over a thousand contacts separated by keywords, linked together with emails and pics (im in the building trade industry).
Google is known for their awesome search capabilities using keywords, how can they strip something like this away.

Dude is a troll plain and simple. His replies betray his genuineness .
meanwhile, trolls aside, I really don't understand how Apple won the injunction with the overwhelming prior art of Google Desktop Search [released Oct 2004] and (I really dislike using this as an example of anything, but it applies) BonziBUDDY [released 1999].
to lesser extents, we have:
ISYS
- prototyped as "Homer" in 1987
- released in 1988
---- was actually a tool to search documents and databases on a private network, searched locally as well
Copernic Search
- released in 1996
---- web multi-search tool, local search functions added well before iPhone (I don't remember when though)
Microsoft Actors/Agents
- released originally as MS Bob in Mar 1995
Windows Desktop Search
- as of v4, included with WinVista, RTM Nov, 2006

Im just pissed at Google for caving into Apple.

I just updated the Starbucks app, and now they have a widget. I LOVE WIDGETS. The iphone doesn't have widgets. So it would be crazy for me to wanna buy an iphone. Just a little angry, that's all. See, i still want to get ME my SGSIII the pebble while my wife has the white.

I'm pretty sure I will be returning it for an X+. The two deal breakers are:
1. The messaging widget doesn't update. I have to have that.
2. The facebook contact pictures suck so bad. Even with contact-sync, a third party app from the market, it's no better.
you just disappoint with the touchwiz, and you like sense..
try some message widget, i am sure there are tons of that.
contact picture?
Kind of silly reasons to be disappointed with an entire phone...but to each their own.
A widget that can easily be replaced and fuzzy contact pictures? That's what it takes for you to return a phone? Like P1 Wookiee said, to each his own.
Not sure what you mean with the messaging widget not refreshing. Since you mentioned it I have placed it on the home screen and each new sms I get shows up there as they arrive. Is there something I'm missing?
At any rate, the notification on the lock screen takes you directly to new messages. Not sure how useful the widget really is when you end up checking the message anyway when you wake up the screen? Just a thought.
I don't Facebook so dunno about that.

For hi-res contact pictures check out haxsync, regardless of your device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync&hl=en
can't help you with the messaging widget though. But yea I agree with Wookie...very strange reasons to be disappointed with an entire device. Good luck with the X+, I have a One X and it's a great phone but the Note 2 is my daily driver now without question. Also on my X I ended up running a CM10 rom which was stable and fast.
Have you tried Handcent? I think they have some sort of widget. Go SMS does for sure
Hope you enjoy the One X+.
Its better to be satisfied with the phone you have for 2 years, than to feel stuck on a phone that irks you every day, regardless of what the irks are.
I know if I was stuck on a One X(+) for the next 2 years I would pull what's left of my hair out. Sense just makes my skin crawl, and a dying XDA community doesn't help.

I don't like it.
The only thing that is actually good is the chat heads and the way it can be your text app. multi tasking with texting. Like texting with your girl while you use another app to find a place for dinner without having to back out of either.
Fortunately you dont have to have FB home for this functionality and only need to install FB messenger and update the fb app...

I installed before I went to work today and played with it for about 2 minutes and headed to the sweat shop. 3 hours later I am on my lunch break and pull out my phone to find my battery at 68 percent. It was at 100 when I left the house and I haven't touched it since I got here. Uninstalled. That battery drain is a killer for me.

This is my first post so be easy with me please. I have been running CM11 snapshots on my T-Mobile galaxy sIII for a long while and so far so good. However as of last three months or so I have had some serious issues with sms. I'm not sure if it is a carrier/network issue or perhaps a cm issues maybe it's not even on my side but when I get text messages from one particular contact, who uses an iPhone, every couple of messages end with the world "null." Usually it's a long message and I only receive the first half and then it ends with "null." I have tried numerous different sms apps like hangouts and sliding cm messaging, but I typically prefer the stock sms app. I'm not sure what to do to fix it and I haven't found anybody else with this issue. It's really frustrating to have to ask this contact to resend messages multiple times just to get the jist of what they're saying. I hope there's a solution. I have flashed new snapshot of CM and I just recently updated the modem. Everything else works perfectly just this sms issue is bugging me.
PS. I've tried a clean install and the problem is still present. I had posted a screen shot over in the cm forums but because I am a noob to Xda I can't post external links yet.
Thanks for any help!*

I'm pretty sure its an Apple problem, and they refuse to address it because they know many will blame Android and hopefully switch to their iPhone. You should be able to find some articles on it with a google search.
I mean I'm sure that's a possibility. Whatever it is I hope it gets resolved soon. I've tried searching under multiple terms and I've only come across similar incidents like mine with blackberries from few years ago. So I haven't seen anything with an iPhone causing this kind of sms issue. Also thanks for all of your input.

This is what I was referring to, but it seems its not exactly the same as your problem.

Still, ask your friend to turn off iMessage in their Settings and see if that helps.
I remember reading that entry about the iMessage bug. I owned an iPhone about four years ago, it was the 3g. It was before iMessage was created too. I don't think that's the problem but still I wouldn't rule it out. I'll make sure that my friend has iMessage turned off.

The Damn bug is back again!! I finally found something about it on the T-Mobile forums. Apparently it's not an isolated problems. A lot of people have the same issue that I am having with a similar setup. So what it's boiling down to is that it is a t-mobile issue with how they handle sms over 160 characters. I'm not sure if this can be fixed by changing some values in the apn settings but I'm gonna see what I can find out.

I would not believe this, I've been using T-Mobile for many, many years and have never had this problem when sending or receiving long messages. I think its either their carrier or device
Well yeah I've been with Tmo for at least the past ten years. I've never had any bug like this. I'm gonna go ahead and day that's it's not a device problem. I've now experienced the issue with multiple devices. Also in different forum entries people have cited receiving the bug from multiple carriers with various iPhone and android devices. Furthermore it can't be a coincidence that the null bug popped up around the same time for many users. Sorry if I sound rude, I really don't mean to. I really appreciate the input and help.

No offense taken.. Usually when I receive texts from friends using other carriers that are long they are split and I receive them separately but no null at the end.. It still sounds carrier related to me tbh, no way so many phones would just start messing up sending or receiving long messages.. It's either one or the other.. Of course this is just my opinion.. After you have made sure you have correct APN, returned to stock firmware, made sure you are using stock SMS app to confirm same issue, there's really not much left to troubleshoot besides calling T-Mobile to reset your account, or for them to admit they are having issues
Yeah same here, usually when I receive long text messages they're split. I think you're right, it's carrier related. I've chatted with T-Mobile reps twice now and they basically blamed AT&T and took no responsibility. I've always used the stock sms app to avoid any issues and I verified that I apn I'm using is correct. So I guess all I can do is wait and hope it works itself out. Also what do you mean by reset my account?
Sent from my 1+One using XDA Premium
Actually, if it were your device or T-Mobile, it would be happening with more than just one of your contacts. I still believe the issue is on their end, not yours.
