[Q] [HELP PLEASE] Samsung keyboard doesn't work - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not long ago I've installed international GT-N7105 Stock Rom from SamMobile to unlock the phone.
I used [N7105TDVALK4_N7105TTELALK2_TEL] this and CWM to flash and successfully worked.
But later on I realised that when I tapped the username area to type it in, the keyboard did not show up and it crashed after being frozen for 2~3 minutes.
I don't understand what seems to be the problem here...
I tried looking for similar posts but I couldn't find them as there were too many.
Anyone encountered similar problems like these? or know how to resolve this issue?
BIG THANKS in advance.
Christopher

go to setting-language and input - select setting symbol on side of samsung keyboard - go to last option reset setting
if not work do this
setting - appl manager - all - samsung keyboard - clear data for it.

I tried both methods but the bottom half of the area where the keyboard is suppose to pop up is still blank..
Perhaps there maybe a problem in the firmware I downloaded?
and on top of that, my mobile data doesn't work as well....

Once try wipe cache and data from recovery, it will erase data so make backup first.
For mobile data once go to mobile network settings and under apn, delete existing and then select menu and restore to default.

It still doesn't work...

so does it happened after flashing recovery only? if so then try flashing only stock recovery
otherwise only thing is reflash full ROM.

I'm pretty sure that was the one I used (mentioned above in first post).
and the mobile internet doesn't work again. When I went into APN, there was a blank screen. The only thing I could do there was Add another APN but I have no idea how to do that.
And as before, I don't have a keyboard on the screen so I can't type up anything...

You can copy from other users manually who have working mobile data
Or ask your operator

If you have option to reset default then do it, you can get that by pressing menu button while in apn page.

[ROM] Optimized Kezra V4 Final 3G error

Hi All,
I've just installed the OKV4_OC_Final (that one that is for donwload in the first post of the topic) and the data over the network is just don't working, there is no errors or messages, it just don't work as I don't select to use it.
Other issue is that I can't connect to my wifi, the password is correct, it tries to autheticate and then disconnect and then keep doing this.
Any ideas about my problems?
You do full wipes before flash??
And possibly restore System App Data, WiFi or Mobile Data settings with Titanium Back Up??
Both above common causes of probs!!!

Do you have the APN for your provider put into the phone? It may not be included in Kerza's ROM

I do not restored any app or data, I never used Titanium or any backer up.
Full wipes? What do you mean? I've used the RZR-2.1.4 and cleared data and system (using the optios in the first menu)

Sorry, wipe means what you have done, mostly.
Also, Dalvik Cache should be cleared in Advanced. And Cache Partition, etc...
Why are you using RzR??
There were probes with that Recovery if you search Forum....
most ppl now use ClockworkMod Recovery[CWM], seems less problems......search forum, it's there....you can flash it with ODIN or adb.
Also, did you make Nandroid BkUp with Rzr?
If so, and you need to restore, you should also use RzR.
Sent from my GT-I8150 on Lanzarote Canary Vacation using Tapatalk
I'm using RzR because it's the first that I've founded in the forum, I'll try to use CWM instead.
How do I do it with ODIN or ADB? ODIN asks for md5 file? that's strange...
I haven't done any Nandroid BkUp, just installed the wiped and installed the ROM.

For flash Recovery CWM with ODIN......see post below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21875835
It will be .md5 to flash as One-Package......
I think post has also ODIN 4.43 and Ancora.ops file, needed for flash.
Make sure USB debugging is checked in settings!!!
When you have flashed CWM

Keep cool dude, I've solved this issue
I've installed CWM then OKV4 again (no backup done and restored), obviusly I've wiped the cache and data before install.
The problem continues, the 3G just doesn't work!
I've installed the COW ROM too, same problem, nothing about 3G.

OK dude.....sorry for using those!!!
APN is Access Point Name.......
basically it is the settings which you need to use your phone on your Mobile Network for Internet and MMS......
Settings/Wireless & networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names
Your Mobile Network Settings are there......
if not, you need to set them up, or get them from your Service Provider....
possibly "Over The Air" [OTA] ......
Some providers can send their settings to your phone from their Internet site via a Set-up SMS...... which you can install.

hi frede_sch
i'm newbie using SGW and i had the same problem
first of all i found your question when i was asking the same thing to google
your list of apn is empty and you have to create a new apn
it's quite easy and fast. just try to search the apn data of your service provider
--
example: my service provider is TIM
Name = TIM Dados
APN = tim.br
Proxy = Not defined
Port = Not defined
Username = tim
Password = tim
Server = Not defined
MMSC = Not defined
MMS proxy = Not defined
MMS port = Not defined
MCC = 724
MNC = 02
APN type = Internet
i found these values on the internet and i created a new apn with them
find your apn information from your service provider and insert them filling the spaces on your phone
hope it helps you

use TWRP recovery. from there, when you go to RESTORE, you can choose to restore only DATA or BOOT or SYSTEM.... you wipe everything, flash your desired rom, then go to recovery (be sure to backup your old rom first) and from there you go to restore - data. done!

Is there a way to do that with CWM? Or with ROM manager or another software instead of me having to download and install TWRP? What happens if I flash twrp while I already have cwm? Will I end up with two recoveries? Or how will that work?

[Q] Phone Storage is near Full, but wait...

Hi, I searched the forum and didn't seem to find much on this, only on "fake notifications" of low space when there is space.
My problem is a little different, my phone reports almost nothing being on it, but my available space is only 1.32 Gb out of 12 available.
When adding up the things stored in it though, it gets only to about 5 Gb (see print screen). Where is the rest of this stuff coming from? How can I clean it safely?
I am running Frosty JB v7 currently, on stock li7 kernel. And i have barely any apps installed.
My guess is the files from apps I installed prior to flashing Frosty JB are still there somewhere, even though i did a factory reset. (i had a few big games like Shadowgun, nova 3, Riptide GP, and a few more, lots of smaller games too. If this is the case, how can I remove them safely? )
Guys, i'm sorry about bumping my own post like this, but please, can anyone help?

First off, do you have any items in your recycle bin from your internal storage? If so, empty your recycle bin and check your storage. Secondly, check inside your internal storage for your CWM or TWRP folder. Check to see how many backups you have located in those folders, because twrp and cwm wipes wont delete nandroid backups. Do a factory wipe from stock and you should be good.
Did you wipe system before installing your current rom?
I think mattedwards2686 has your ansewer, nandroid backups.

Backup/Restore issue

When ever I backup my stock ROM (touchwiz) and I decide to restore it at a later point, I find that my google account has been deleted and sometimes the phone.apk is also missing. There is not even and option to add my google account back. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also I am using TWRP recovery.

I've had this happen before using certain Roms, what ROM are u using? Some Rome don't like to be restored, or I u can try making a separate backup for data, sometimes that helps, there is also a new twrp v2.6.6.0 available, u could try updating to the newest version, sometimes if your recovery is out of date it won't restore correctly, especially with the newer twiz roms

I've had that same error when I updated to 4.3 on my Nexus 7. What I did to fix it was remove the Google Account under settings and login again and accepting the user terms and stuff again.
when i tried restoring in clockworkmod 6.0.3.3, recovery tells me that no files were found.
I put the extracted contents of the stock.rar into the clockworkmod\backup directory in the sdcard but no go
did the same in my internal and obviously, no go. am i missing something?

what you can do is use root explorer or browser and go to system/apps and delete the playstore and reinstall it from the web or apk google it you shuold get a latest one... that will fix the issue ,
for signal I know the issue I will add a patch , its due to the increase in network throttle added so if signal gets a little weak it drops and tries to reconnect
What APN settings are you guys running to get LTE..?

I saw in the other xperia thread you asked if anyone wanted an aosp rom and its kinda funny but thats what i thought this rom was lol but stock meant factory stock not aosp.
Anyway, i think ppl would rather have you focus your energy on a an aosp one than a debloated lg one, tho both are important. The aosp one needs more work of course so yea. Looking forward to that network patch, thanks!
