Re: Rooted but stock.
I cant remember where I found the framework thread but once I saw jedi roms with aroma, I went that route instead of dealing with xposed... glad to see you finally rooted though

Well i got it working already +root . Thanks a lot guys and also a big thanks to Nmw407. That has been helping me out a lot . Just need to find away on how to unroot to factory for my warranty lol.

YAY! You made it!
Various ways to unroot but for warranty id do triangle away first, then odin a stock rom, make sure you pull the sd card, factory reset... that should work to get counter to 0 and normal status

Yes, I got the same Q, anyone can help?
First, reset three counter using. Triangle away( not really needed as Tmobile doesn't check, just making sure)
Next Flash stock rom(original ROM) using ODIN. look in the development section.
Then factory reset after, this can be done from the settings under storage or privacy. I really don't remember.
But that should do it

check the stickies in the dev section. They have the stock Rom in there
Triangle away resets the flash counter now

I have been reading up on this myself.
Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981668
I flashed it without wiping data with no problems. just do it, it works

Yup I recently realized I could do that smh... previously on other phones it always forced a wipe if I recall when you first did a new rom

When I rooted my galaxy note 2, I couldnt update it... does that mean I have to unroot it when there is android 4.2 update for my galaxy note 2? ??
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Unroot, use triangle away, restore stock recovery if you switched to cwm and factory reset to change from modified to stock

How???
Im still new to these kind of things... I scared later I brick my phone...
If I just unroot it... wont the update work when there is???

If only haha. Once you unroot, the device still says modified because the binary flash counter has increased from 0 to 1 (or higher). That pretty much tells the phone that your device was modified.
There are a few guides around on how to do it. I can't really search at the moment as Im on my phone.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
ok...
So If I want to update with samsung when android 4.2 comes out so I have to use triangle away and also unroot it???
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Thats right. Someone mentioned just downloading the file from www.sammobile.com when its released and flashing that with odin.
Im not sure if that works while rooted but may be worth investigating?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Ok... then...
I'll go check it

There is guides in this forum relating to your issue, but basically use Triangle Away, then wipe data/cache and it should change your status, though some say it reverts back to modified after time...
I would just leave it rooted. 4.2 based roms will be available here probably long before you would see it getting pushed to your device by your carrier.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Downloading and installing the firmware using ODIN resolves the issue.

I flash my device with odin mobile pro and factory reset everything...

Just curious to see:
How many people actually stayed stock vs
How many people actually rooted/flashed roms and actually stayed rooted
I havent seen a tread like this, and I thought it would be pretty cool to see what everyone else has done ^.^

Rooted with deodexed rom.
So far I've enabled wallet (which I use all the time), unlimited multi windows(use all the time), changed my status bar up, bootanimation and sound, and spen sounds...
im stock. I havent came across a reason for me to root or install a rom.
My previous note 2 I rooted it, installed and tried different roms and a couple tweaks here and there.
This note 2 that I recently got from my wife is bone stock, im actually enjoying it lol..
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Rooted by using stock rom with a couple of improvements.
Stock. Too beast of a phone for custom ROMs to be a necessity.
Sent from my SGH-T889V using xda app-developers app
rooted, stock rom with xposed multi window mod.
Stock for now. I paid full price for it, so I probably won't root while it's under warranty. My main reason for rooting has always been to disable bloatware, which is now built into JB anyway.
1000% stock. No need to root, plus I don't have a computer so this is all I have.

I have root on note 2 at first I didnt see no reason to root but I took off bloat apps and then my phone started to act up for a few weeks when I rooted and all the apps would load super slow so I used triangle away and now everything is back to normal stock rom cant really find a good rom to flash

Stock, and will stay that way until this nasty IMEI business is settled with some certainty.
The phone is a beast, even with the extra crap loaded from T-Mobile. Just wish stupid My Account and Zynga games would stop re-enabling themselves. That's truly infuriating.
