Blue Stuck Pixel---How to fix? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have recently noticed a blue stuck pixel on the dead center of my Note 2. The next minute i ran a stuck pixel app from the play store and have read that keeping it on low brightness works better will it flashes. Its still running btw.
Anyone know roughly how long i would need to keep it running? If this fails, what else may i try?
And how do I know if my phone is still under warranty? I had preordered it and it arrived on November 9th. Does that make me eligible for a replacement? If so, can you please include steps to do this? (Who to contact...)
Thank you!

I have the same problem. I had a red pixel stuck and tried a stuck pixel app running for about 3 hours and it didn't work. I went to the closest Samsung store and they told me they have a zero stuck pixel policy. I have had mine for just 2 months and they took it in for repair, no questions asked. They even offered me a replacement phone to use while mine was in repair for a $200 deposit. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon because using any other phone after the Note 2 sucks!!

Thats good to hear! How long has it been since you sent the phone for repair?

I suppose they do not all support that ideology 100% of the time

[Q] Battery dead?

Hello, my Verizon One won't seem to charge. The other day I woke up, used my phone till it was at about 85%, then topped it off back to 100% before I left as I was going to be on the road most of the day. When I took it off the charger I noticed it was a bit warm, not excessively so but noticeable. A couple of minutes later (it had been off the charger) I noticed it was getting hotter. I restarted it hoping for the problem to sort itself out. Maybe 30 minutes later the battery had dipped to 25% and the phone was very warm. I started to get worried and turned it off. Hoping that would at least postpone the problem I put it aside and didn't mess with it. About another half hour later I picked up the phone to see if it had cooled off, only to find that it was even hotter! I got very worried and actually had to hold an ice cube to the back of the phone because I'd heard of bad things happening to overheating phones. That seemed to solve the problem and the battery seemed to have finally run out because it didn't heat up anymore. I got home and tried to charge it to no avail. The thing seems to be completely dead. I was running CM 11 but I hadn't messed with any processor settings. I thought it would be a software issue because of the beta version of CM but idk after it continued to overheat after it was shut down. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, if I should just send it to HTC support let me know. I've been reluctant to contact them since the phone is rooted and all...
I have heard to place the phone under a light with the charging cord hooked up. I know it sounds weird but people says it works. I have heard nothing but horror stories about cm11 and refuse to run that Rom. From issues that you describe to it breaking the lte radio and having to flash an ruu to get it working again. There are so many other Roms that are real good.

Before all this CM11 worked great. No lag and everything seemed to work fine minus a couple occasional glitches. Could it be the ROM as it continued to heat when turned off?
I've had the phone on the charger for about a day now, no sign of life. What will happen if I send it to HTC support?
Where did you get the phone? Most likely if from Verizon you can contact their customer support line, tell them it isn't charging and they'll send you a refurb. I just don't mention to them that the phone is rooted and they have always exchanged mine without issue.

I got mine from Viva Movil as they had it on sale. Would it work the same way since it is a branch of Verizon?

There's no harm in calling Verizon tech support, telling them your problem and asking for a replacement device. The worst they can say is no. But then you'd have other options. I don't see them telling you no. I had an issue with a phone a got off Craigslist and they replaced it. I didn't tell them I wasn't the original owner but it was only a few months old and shouldn't matter anyway. They didn't even ask tho.

The exact same thing happened to me about a month ago and I have been terrified to send it in to HTC or use my Squaretrade replacement program for fear they would figure out it was rooted and send me back my broken device with a voided warranty.
Finally I took it into verizon yesterday and they are now sending me a new one in the mail.
I have to send them my broken one after I receive the new one and I'm afraid they might detect its rooted and charge me the $600 for the new device they sent me.
Anyone gone through something similar?

I bought my HTS One from Viva Mobil too, and it clearly was shipped by Verizon.
Three weeks ago, it stopped booting or charging. I walked into a local VZW store and they couldn't wake it either, so they couldn't see I had rooted the phone. They ordered a warranty replacement for me.
I doubt that they're going to bother to see what ROM is on the returned unit..

Just got back from the VZW store, they took it but said "if any software manipulation was detected" I would be charged $300 for the refurb phone. Better than $600 but I'm kinda worried.
I believe this is associated with running a non sense based rom on the phone. There was another guy who had his phone overheat and speakers blown when he was running AOSP, and I know the overheating thing happened to multiple people. I feel like for some reason it's too risky to run AOSP because of these horror stories so if I want an AOSP feel I'll just run a GPE rom with xposed to tweak it how I like. Never had bad luck since, and I predict I won't have any in the future since these roms are made for our hardware by HTC themselves.

Probably broken flash memory?

So, I was using my n5x with the usual official LineageOS ROM, suddenly when I was using the facebook app, the phone completely freezed.
I long-pressed the power button, an then rebooted the phone.
Surprise: An ugly bootloop with the google logo.
Can't go to the OS, can't go to the recovery. No OS load animation.
Reflashed Android 6. Nothing changed.
Reflashed the latest Android 7, locked bootloader, unlocked, still can't go to recovery or to the android os. No charging animation when plugged into the PC.
1 times of 10, It can barely reach the Android loading animation, for about 2 seconds, then it freezes again and it goes back to the Google logo.
The phone has 1 year of life, should I contact google immediately? I think the internal flash memory died. What do you think about.

If it's still under warranty by all means. Search this forum for bootloop and stuck OTA. This phone is screwed. Also do a Google search for consumerist Nexus 5X and you'll get an idea of the problems users have with this phone.

Yup, this 100%. Same exact thing happened to my 5x about a month ago. I was 2 months out of warranty but Google was kind enough to make an exception and send me a brand new one. I opted to purchase a pixel and sell the new 5x I received. Where did you purchase yours from?

I'm in a worse boat. Bought an International version with no warranty from Newegg. Phone lasted 1 month. LG US won't repair it. Figured I could at least get repaired if needed, but I was wrong. Expensive lesson learned.

My N5X did the same thing on Saturday. Tried restoring stock image, unlock/lock bootloader, etc, with no luck. Kept getting stuck in constant bootloop. Called LG, they are aware of the problem with these phones and told to send it back. Its 12 month warranty from date of purchase and/or 15 months from build date (which you can find on your box).
I had to go to www.lgmobilerepair.com and fill out a claim. I shipped mine back yesterday. I hope and expect them to give a full refund on the phone based upon everything I read online about this issue, because apparently there are no parts left over from manufacturing to repair it.

Well I guess we will both see what happens! I would have bought a used Nexus 6P, but many of those are experiencing the same issue, so now I have to decide what I want...probably going to buy a pixel.
this just happened to me. I cant put back to stock or anything. I can get to the boot loader but then black screen. I can load up back to stock, lock and unlock bootloader etc etc but it just boot loops. Im thinking this is hardware. I was reading news on yahoo at the time. I have the extended warrunty so Im calling now. Guess Im going back to the old 5 for now.

I went the pixel after mine died and I've been very happy. The battery life is honestly double what I was getting on my 5x. I averaged around 2:30 SoT, and on the pixel I get over 5 hours every time.

this sucks and for the first time im having a HORRIBLE experiance with google support. We have the extended warrunty and its a 3rd party, NOT EVEN THROUGH GOOGLE like apple care does, and they are being so irritating. Im not paying a deductible for something that was their own fault.
This wouldnt be a huge deal if the SIMS were the same but the 5 used the old larger one and I dont have an adapter. At least I still have google voice for texting or I would be screwed with my job, tenants, and friends. Good to know we bought quality here.
I swear quality is like diabetes and skips a generation. The 5 was so much better.

Have you tried Google multiple times? I kept explaining to the rep how that even though the 12 month warranty was up, the issue was widespread due to faulty parts. The rep finally escalated the issue and came back 15 minutes later saying they would replace it free of charge. I may have gotten lucky, but I'd say try back a few different times.

doing that now, this is rediculous. when her phone breaks apple takes it and gives us a new one.... we would have never paid for extra warranties if it wasnt through google what a ****ing scam. There is a youtube video coming for this. People need to be aware this isnt google warrantying their devices.
Sadly I won't buy a pixel, I will go for a Xiaomi Mi5, I don't like the recent google moves.

First Problem With My Pixel C - A Whopper!

I've been cruising along through all the betas taking good care of my precious Pixel an 2 weeks after the warranty expired I'm in major trouble. Started with the screen splitting without me making it happen. I never use the feature. Then the only thing on half the screen is snow. (No, I don't use the magnetic keyboard) can't get rid of the split without reboot. Now can't get rid of it at all. Tried factory reset 3 times - no help.
Then the screen stops waking without doing a reboot.
Now it's time to call Google. After being told to try a factory reset again. They apologized and said there's nothing they can do for me. "You should have called before the warranty expired"
SERIOUSLY! Telling I should have called BEFORE I had a problem! Great support Google. Next they tell me the only thing I can do is go to UBreakItWeFixIt and they can take care of it "at a reasonable price". I brought it in and they looked at it like it came from another dimension. After watching the service guy search the Internet for ten minutes looking for parts I'm told I need to leave it a few days for them to research. Now I wait. Spend over $500 on a tablet and 2 weeks after the warranty is up I have a feeling I'm totally screwed.
Anybody been able to get REAL help after the warranty?

Out of interest, when was your Pixel C made? What's the first 2 characters of your serial number?
I had the exact same issue. Half the screen was "snow". At first I could solve by rebooting but it gradually got worse. It's hardware. Sometimes it would respond to pressure on the screen and it happened even when booting. I finally had to RMA it.
UBreakItWeFixIt is a new development. When I broke my screen they told me I had to take it somewhere for service but they couldn't tell me where. That seemed really odd, apparently even to them. They RMAd that one for the cracked screen.
I really appreciated that last RMA. But I've been through about five of these and never returned one for any trivial reason.
But I still love my Pixel C.

I try getting your RMA request pushed up the ladder to higher up employee and not a standard support bod. Your so close to the end of warranty that good service would be to replace your device. There will be discretionary power to do this.
@Joediver53,
Just so you know you're not the only one to get less than stellar support from Google customer service, here's my tale of woe > https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-c/help/screen-issue-t3501862
It's still at the shop....I'll let you know
While waiting for the shop to let me know what the story is I checked and found that I purchased it with my AMEX which will give me an extra year of warranty. I'm waiting until I get the estimate but then I'll try elevating the problem to a supervisor because even though AMEX will reimburse me I'd rather not pay the extra $100 for the 64gb version. Mine is the 32gb and I've never had a problem with space.
I'll be sure to post the results and the first 2 digits of the sn.

YouBreakIFix called and said they can't even find parts for the Pixel C.
Called Google again and escalated the issue. I should hear back in 24-48 hours
Serial number ends in 59.
Solved!
Just to update anyone who's interested. I just received a follow up email from Google with a link to order a replacement Pixel C. They just put a hold on your credit card for the full amount until the old unit is returned to them. I'm still nervous about using any magnetic wake/sleep cases or the Google magnetic keyboard as it seems the majority of similar problems I've found on the forums revolve around possible poor magnetic shielding on the Pixel. I've asked if they have addressed this issue on the new/refurbished units they are sending out now. Waiting for a reply.
Anyone with a newer Pixel C (within the past 4-5 months) have any problems with magnetic cases/keyboards?
My pixel C has been working great for the past year or so but just noticed my cameras front and back are not working. They are just a black screen.
I did a hard restart. Any other suggestions?

I have been in complete & utter frustration with the EXACT problem over the last 3 days. It began after I installed the security update. I think this might be a Google issue if others experience the same issue. I KNOW it's not broken or cracked or damaged in any physical way. My C was a Christmas gift so no clue if the warranty is still valid, but my gut tells me, either A: the pixel C is an overly delicate product or B: the software patch has a glitch. Keep updating this thread with your resolutions and I'll do the same.

Yep, I just had to replace mine a few weeks ago too. It was in warranty, but I had bought it used. Fortunately, I was able to get Google to transfer the ownership to my account. I received a new replacement, hopefully it does not also have the same hardware glitch.

It is a known issue they'll rma it for this reason. On a side note I had that issue for about 12-24 hours and went away on it's own, no restart or factory reset was required for me. Really wish I knew what or why the cause but maybe it will go away, like mine did. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks I hope so too. Really liking the phone but for this money...
agreed I almost gave up, my first 2 were too blue and the 3rd fine except started that flash, but ultimately went away. Loving this phone!

Mine just started this week flashing. Running 8.1 since last week. Does your new replacement suffer from the same issue as well?
Thanks

Mine started today but it has been getting better as the day goes on. I'm curious if its an issue with charging. Prior to a few days ago I had been only using the chargers with that I've received specifically for the phone, but this week--since I'm traveling for the holidays--I've only been using my pixelbook charger, so maybe something isn't properly shielded and the flash is caused by a built up charge? Reason I think that is that it has been less and less noticeable as the day goes on..

My flashing went away the next day. I did do a factory reset just because I only had it a few days and no issues since. Although Google RMA’d my phone I sent the replacement back without accepting shipment as mine has been running like a champ since.

Got my replacement a week ago, 0 flashes so far (finger crossed). I tend now to think it's a hardware issue. Also blue tint is slightly better on new device...
I just got my Pixel 2 XL delivered to me yesterday. Set it all up, didn't get the flashing screen issue at first but now it's doing it. Tried to chat with Pixel support from my phone, they don't have a resolution for it yet.... Hopefully it's a software issue?
Mine started doing this about 3-4 days ago. I noticed that it starts to do it when night mode is on. If I go the RMA route, this will be my 3rd replacement and tbh I'm not looking forward to doing this.
Mine did it once with always on display on, I don't usually use that so I turned it off and it hasn't happened since.
I just received a replacement device yesterday due to a faulty speaker. No issues with the last device, but this device is now exhibiting the screen flash when locking.

Exact thing with me. I received a brand new device that I got because my previous one had a bad speaker (speaker phone distorted sound). This new one has the screen flashing problem. My original did not. Poor QC ... especially for $850.
Mine has been doing it for a couple of days, and it kept getting worse. On chat with Google Support now. Sounds like it's going to be RMA'd.

burn in

I bought pixel xl second hand. Its unlocked u.s.a variant. When I got it it was on November 2017 stock 8.0. Navy bar was fine and I never turned screen brightness up. I was aware of the burn in issues before I bought device. So I got it home after a few days decided to flash latest stock image which was DEC 8.1. After a week or so I started to notice it. The dreaded burn in Nav bar. That I'm aware of the guy I bought it from paid cash from best buy and had no warrenty. Is their a fix or solution. Thanks I'm guessing their isent but if somebody had this issue and fixed plz kindly gimme some suggestions. Thanks
I've had this issue for quite some time, I had to RMA one Pixel XL for it, which Google replaced after me sending it over to Germany (UK here). I have just decided to live with it, and will be replacing the phone in October for 2018's iteration. Given that screen burn in was such a big issue with the Pixel XL 2 - I am hoping that Google learn from this, maybe even allow full immersive mode to users in settings.
Downside to an AMOLED just don't leave the display on for long periods of time and you'll avoid it if it gets really bad only option is to RMA

In my opinion that shouldn't happen, or Google should implement a feature to allow immersive mode by default.
Weird thing was when I bought it it was on 8.0 Nov release as soon as I unlocked bootloader and updated to 8.1 within 2 weeks it happened and the guy I got it from had phone for about 4 months with no issues.
Only solution Is changue the screen,i got image burn and i buy the screen un Ebay cost 80$ the oem and 95 y wrigs
