I've been looking at market and the web, but couldn't find the way how to change background wallpaper in Settings. I find this grey/blue background stupid and not battery friendly. How can I insert some custom wallpaper instead?
You'll need to use any one of the countless themes.
I see you misunderstood my question. My question was : "Is it possible to change background wallpaper in Setting with custom wallpaper". Let's say some photo taken you like, or whatever you fancy
try the rasbean jelly rom, its themed black, with the pop up menus black, and the stupid gray gradients removed.

yes. long press any empty space on the homescreen, then press gallery and pick a photo. or pick a photo, press menu, press set as.
I think he wants to set custom backgrounds in the system menus, not pre-picked images in the themes you can download. I'm kinda curious if it's possible also.

Yes i would like to know as well how it can be done. I had once a HTC Touch Diamond 2 and the winmo had an optionto change thw wallpaper in both home screen and start/menu programs.

You mean when you press the apps icon and it takes you your installed apps? that background? or your dock background? Dock backgrounds easy so id guess the other may also be, backup your touchwiz30launcher.apk throw it on pc use winrar to check it out res/ drawable-hdpi folder. There should be a .png in there to change it i'll check tonight if time permits..

adw launcher allows you to have a transparent background you will still see your homescreen pic, or u can change to any coklour you like and it also comes with themes you can download to spice up icons and layout and so on. thats the free one. there is also adw launcher ex which comes with animations and more

I'm truly sorry if this is a re-post, but I didn't found any post similar to this.
I've found a way to fully customize my Trophy colours tweaking the registry. You can change your background colour, text, keyboard, etc... To do this just open a Registry editor and go to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Themes\1] (That "1" is for Dark theme), then change the colour values like you want!
This is what you are able to mod: BaseThemeColor; ChromeColor; ContrastColor; KeyPadBackground; ListPickerBackground; ListPickerBackgroundPressed; PageBackgroundColor; ProgressBarBackground; ProgressBarDisabledBackground and SysTrayBackgroundColor amoung all texts colours.
I advise you to somehow backup the colour codes you're about to change!
Hope you enjoy it, now start to personalize your WP7!!
P.S: Need to restart to apply!

It's still a system wide change you are changing the 'Light' SYSTEM theme to a 'custom' color.
I honestly haven´t saw it before posting mine, I have searched it now that you mentioned. As I said: "I'm truly sorry if this is a re-post, but I didn't found any post similar to this." So if the user decides that I am using his work let him speak to me, and I will present him my apologies.
However the user in question only shows how to change the email theme, not the full mod.

Sorry, but I really don't know how to do that. I know you can change the text colour, but not the icon colour itself!
To change text colour edit this Registry Keys:
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\1\TextNeutralColor]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\1\ListPickerBackgroundPressed]
[HKLM\ControlPanel\themes\1\ContrastColor]

Any idea how to change the keyboard buttons background so that they are black. Sort of the way the email app has a white keyboard with black letters but just the opposite. Check out the screen caps to see where im at....I can't seem to figure out the keyboard button background. It never changes no matter what i do. The same effect applies to the in call screen and dialer. I think all black will work. I dont think I will lose any functionality as far as visibility is concerned. Maybe its one of the registry strings that have an image instead of colour code?
You'll have to look back to about January ,this was covered way back then ,some of it was about changing the email , but the thread itself was covering the change colors theme , but hey the more the merrier , it might be a good idea to post the original values for the dark theme and for the light theme , otherwise people will continually ask you what they are (because they dont copy them down)!
Anyone know if its possible to change the notification bar color ? I have a pretty awesome theme happening here .. but a white bar at the top is killing me .

That one I don't know. I only played with modding the colors so far before I ran into troubles where they conflicted in third party apps. There's this weird thing where first party apps use the registry, and then third party apps mostly use one of two different XAML files for each accent color, but they're not as consistent as to which one they use as the first party apps. I got tired of tweaking both registry files and a dozen XAML files to have my color tweaks carry across system wide and eventually just went back to doing accent colors only
Good luck though with the theming. If you don't get too hung up about the colors not carrying over to third party apps, it's a lot of fun. I had purple and blue for a while, like the Windows 8 demos. It's definitely showy to have a fully tweaked WP7.
For some reason when I change the values in mfg for BaseThemeColor on my quantum it has no effect..
Other strings all work..

as far as the BaseThemeColor goes , what are you looking for it to change ? I am currently working on typing up what i have found SO FAR that each value changes . I think it would be cool to start a thread with everyones themes and values .
As far as i can tell , the only change i have noticed that BaseThemeColor makes are sort of generic template things . Mine was set to FFFFFF , so when i went into Zune hub , since i had white text as well , i couldnt see any of my song titles because FFFFFF is the generic white setting , so the background images were washed out like it is on the light theme . When i changed it to FF000000 , Zune hub thought it was on the dark theme then , and played very well with my white text . Also changed dialpad .. so pretty much system apps look at that to know how to behave . I would only use FFFFFFFF / FF000000
I hope that makes sense .. i can upload pics if youd like .

I want the background on my home screen changed.
I want it to be blue like #FF0000FF
No matter what I do they stay black and white:/
for background color .. you want PageBackgroundColor

I think that the icons are images...we can't change their color...
I've been looking on rootz and xda and can't seem to find one. I'm loving the green right now but this stock keyboard is taking away from the experience. Anyone wanna theme one or point me where to find it? I'm on aokp 26.

I'm so sorry. I thought I could easily change the colors of the keyboard without editing any pngs. This is sadly not true. I don't have the time to edit all the pngs that I would have to.
I'm really sorry for getting your hopes up . I'm pretty sure there is a 'hulk smash' theme or something with a green keyboard. Just grab the keyboard from the zip and push it to your phone.
9.pngs are the worst! A simple land folder, life would be so much easier. If I was able to post on rootz I'd ask the guy who made every other color but green. Thanks anyway, I'm gunna go dig into some old theme .zips n find the black n white ics one

But, with a simple 'land' folder, none of the images could scale properly, creating the need for hundreds of slightly different different images, and each apk would be 20+mb. That's why the .9 system was created But yes, they are extremely time consuming to theme.
Version 1.7 and up contain a theme for the new Gmail 4.1.2. There have been some changes in XMLs so don't flash this until you update Gmail

It works on Odexed or Deodexed ROMS since it simply replaces images and soon XMLs within the files.
It may work on 15 toggles ROMS but not all will be themed since I don't have a 15 toggles SystemUI to play with. If you upload one I'll theme the additional toggles for you.

Please check on the new version. I think they moved the files in this ROM. If I'm right only the wi-fi on toggle will be red.

Can you please flash the second version? The wi-fi and signal bars should be red and please check the wi-fi on toggle to see if I found the right files.

What's wrong in settings and gallery? If it's that the icons in settings are not all matching it's to do with the icons Samsung has used and something I can change later. The lock screen is strange since I changed entire sets of numbers. Can you put the dual clock on the lock screen and see if that's OK. The Notifications bar I can fix now that I know that I've found the correct file for the Wi-Fi. Stupid samsung have duplicates in places where they are not needed.

I fixed the lock screen numbers and the notifications area. To get on the dual clock you need to go to the lock screen settings and enable dual clock. Can you post a pic of the phone and/or contacts screen? I want to see if I got the tabs done.
The theme creates an automatic backup. It's located in the universl flasher folder on your internal memory. I do hope you'll come back to it after it's more complete.

You seem to be new to Android and what you want is what it is shown in iOS.
You need a custom launcher, Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher are the ones I know have notification addons. You will need to buy the paid version of whatever launcher you decide to go in order to use notificacions (I might be wrong but this is what I remember).
