Is it normal that my phone reboots when dropped? Even when it is just accidentally dropped on to the table from my hands which is like around than 10 cm height?

nope, not normal
Something inside is loose and easily detachable.
Try shaking it real hard and see if it reboots. (do it safely without any sudden accidents where it might drop)
If it does, apply password on your device and send it to SSC if its under warranty. If they ask about anything, just say it keeps rebooting even when shook slightly harder.

When i got home, i went to my room as usually and put the phone on my desk. It was with the screen on because i was using it and then instead of putting him on the desk i let him fall from a height of about 2/3 cm on top of my wallet (nothing dangerous), and then i watched the screen begins to fade slowly and then the phone restarted.
I was like wtf? And after that, i did it again and the same thing happened.
Arc S.
Put paper between battery and battery cover and try it again, that should fix it.
I had the same thing with screen going off from left to right on 2.3.3 .146 firmware but exactly after 90h uptime. Not caused by dropping it.

That's how the phone reacts when it can't handle undervolt or/and overclock. Same as the WLOD (White Led Of Death) situation with the X10.
So, are you on custom kernel?

Well, mine had it with stock kernel.

I don't think that's normal.
Hi, yesterday, a big drop of sweat fell on top of my search button, i cleaned it right away but i dont know if any got inside the cell because it was a big drop, and the search button is sourrounded by a small gap that goes inside the cell.
The cell works perfectly, but should i be worried about damage happening later or corrosion?
No. Even if it did, though, how would you fix it now?

I doubt you'd own the phone long enough for it to corrode. I think you're OK.

The phone is almost new, how long would that take?
As long as you don't keep sweating on it it'll be fine.

Anyone stuck the accelerometer on their galaxy S3 yet? Only one axis on mine works now. Is there a way to unstick them or am I about to have to try to make the thing stock again and go for warranty service?
It may be broken. Try wiping and see if it fixes it.

Did a factory reset, didn't help Any idea on how these things functions? like can I tap it a certain way to unstick it? Pretty sure it happened when I dropped it about 3 feet. Its got a heck of a case so there was no phone damage at all but perhaps the shock stuck the accelerometer.

They contain microscopic crystal structures that get stressed by accelerative forces, which causes a voltage to be generated. If you have two microstructures next to each other, they have a certain capacitance between them. If an accelerative force moves one of the structures, then the capacitance will change. Add some circuitry to convert from capacitance to voltage, and you will get an accelerometer
The drop most likely broke your accelerometer and threw off the crystal structures. I don't know if there is any fix. My advice would be to use your Warranty

Do I need to unroot and flash back to stock? or will they cover hardware issues regardless of the OS?

So yesterday, I placed my s4 in my pocket
after using the phone. After 5 minutes, I pulled the phone out of my pocket, the screen was not turning on and i think the digitizer cracked. The GG3 was not cracked only the digitizer... so frustrating.
My question is what should I do before sending it to samsung? I had a custom rom on the phone and I was rooted.
Someone said something about going through odin and doing an update, then unplug to usb in the middle of the update. That way samsung cant tell what was running on my device.
Does anyone know a way around this? How to unroot back to stock without a screen?

Just send it in. It's a "oops my phone broke" claim. Not a warranty claim

Yah I had a spigen slim armor, and a screen protector. I didnt hit any sharp corners or weird bumps. Just went for a five minute car ride, then pulled out the phone to find the screen unresponsive. Theres a whole thread about it over in the at&t general section
I'm amazed when I hear of people's screen cracking in their pockets. Did you see the s4 torture test video? I wonder if there are some quality control issues?

Hello,
2 weeks before I got water in my phone (xperia S), but now it's dried up. Everything's working properly but I'm facing a certain problem. A particular region/area of he screen doesn't respond to touch at all. Though there's no deformation in the display. Could you please help me out. I've tried a hard reset, rebooting, drying it up with a dryer, reinstalling the os and all. But still no good. I face many problems while choosing options like can't delete any messages. Even going to the landscape mode doesn't help. Please do help. :/
hmmmm
water damage, you may have to replace the screen
the part that got wet shorted out and now doesn't work

I tried rebooting several times. But no good. If the LCD's damaged then won't the display should also has been dispersed?
try to clean screen with alcohol or something for glass.
This sometimes occure when screen is dirty on some places, good clean may also fix that.
Im telling this from my experience.
If nothing helps, try to get it on warranty if you still have it.

Never use drier on a wet phone as it might damage internal circuits. Water damage is something that is totally unpredictable. that part of screen might start working in a few days or a few hours or not at all ever. I'd suggest wait it out for a few days. If the problem doesn't get auto corrected, then you will have to take it for repairs(A water damaged phone's days are numbered though,no matter what you do)
Does the ok/cancel button show problem only? If you scroll wallpaper through that region, does it work?

Yes, that's the only problem. And, no it doesn't works if I tap on the region, it recognizes the tap on either above/ below area and acts accordingly.
