Nope - since the device is dead (hence the name sDs) you cannot go to download to update the ROM whatsoever.
My official fix after SDS happened was to get it to Samsung repair.
Unfortunately it takes them over a month to repair! (Hope to get it back this week, maybe that's just before our holidays)

Got it back, finally after about 6 weeks! Repair should be ashamed!
The motherboard has been changed and so far it's all working good. However, I notice that GPS takes much longer to find a fix.
As far as I know all firmware with official Android 4.1.2 version are SDS safe

I don't think it is pull down but something wrong on samsung server
If latest was pulled down then prior to this should show as latest, as of now i have read many review, watever ROM you are having it says you have latest ROM.
e.g. India have latest LL7 before it LL4, LJ3, LJ1, and LIE was there.
if LJ1 user connect device to kies/check OTA it says your ROM is latest. So if LL7 is withdrwan then he/she should get LL4
So i assume its server issue but bot pull down of ROM.
@furrr Anyway what you are getting by dialing *#1234# from which i can say which country ROM you may have now.

With reference to Singapore,
An update for 4.1.1 was available OTA, which was 4.1.2 (LL7) at the end-of-Dec 2012. It was pulled down later. Again we have a new 4.1.2 (MA6) at the end-of-Jan 2013 now.
Battery issue might be the reason for delaying 4.1.2 BTU UK update ? Any ideas ?

Your probably right, i contacted samsung uk about 4.1.2 week before last and they had no eta available for 4.1.2 and just told me to watch their fb page!!!
Hello. I'm new user. My phones CSC: N7100OJVALJ2 CP: N7100XXALJ2 AP: N7100XXALJ3. I don't know my phones country and how to update 4.1.2 multi-window. Pls reply for me...
I still don't understand why theres no UK release considering all the other ota updates there has been since beginning Jan 13, just seems very odd.
Having said that I flashed back to 4.1.1 BTU yesterday and my phone is much better, faster smoother and battery lasts better, maybe something to do with UK networks?

hopefully its not along the lines of what sammobile has posted here

i dont much like the idea of having to be in the device's country of origin to be able to update my device. i bought my device online and it happens to be a european device. i generally dont like buying device's from australian resellers since australian firmware devices tend to be the last to get updates.
edit - using complete stock unrooted rom after update, quadrant score went up from 6900 to 7100. antutu score dropped from 18300 to 17950. i'd consider these score differences to be quite negligible though.

I've been with 4.1.2 since it came out and I've never had a battery drain issue, infact my batter is lasting longer with the batter hardware acceleration from the UI/apps/livewallpaper.. though i understand that the vocal minority (extreme minority) are having battery issues though I've never experienced it.
Hello I m on SDS bug chip Type: VTU00M, FwRev: 0xf1.....
but can anyone please make me understand actually what is sudden death issue????????
please someone helo as I am so much worried
99% having it, just flash latest 4.1.2 (LL7 and up) it is believed to be fixed this issue.
SDS - device can die without any reason, like you have keep device on table and just auto reboots and never turns on.

but when I was checking my chip model with eMMC app then it shows like my chip is "sane" like this attachment..
So is there any way that my chip is unaffected :S

It was stater that "sane" remark worth nothing. Pay attention to the chip revision.

Chip is hardware and you can understand fixing with SW it doesn't change your hardware. it will remain same, but once you flash latest ROM (having fix) it will block commands which can damage device.

Bro please download "eMMC check" app from play store and then see what is the "chip type" and "FwRev"...
If your chip type is "VTU00M" and FwRev is "0xf1" then u are a victim of SDS issue :S
Victim is when he will have a sudden death.
Currently there is a high probability of vulnerability to sds bug.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
So should I update to 4.1.2 N7100XXDMA6? I don't know if I should because of the bad battery life, problems with microSD cards and some Wi-Fi issues users are reporting.
What about "VTU00M" and FwRev "0xf7"? Is it safe?
Yeah dma6 does have a bad battery try ubdll3 or xxdma5.
I tried all 2.4dll6 2.5ubdll3 2.6dma5 and 2.7dma6 of wanamlite and best was of 2.5 and 2.6

ubdll3 won't help, battery is poor either
So I guess it's best for me to stick with 4.1.1 N7100XXALJ1.

Hello!
So now for a few days my phone has been acting weird. When I wake up in the morning, I see that the phone has restarted under the night and now today, it is kind of dead. First it wouldn't open when pressing homebutton or powerbutton and then I took out the battery and put it in again and then the bootscreen showed twice and after that the phone worked for about 5 minutes to later be frozen again and now it only shows the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" bit before the Samsung logo and won't proceed.
I have rooted my phone and I have Clockwork as recovery and also the mod app2sd to change so my sdcard is the default one. I can access download mode but not recovery.
So I'm hoping for a answer from you guys, how should I "unbrick" it? I still want to keep the stock Samsung ROM. I might agree to add a custom Samsung ROM that only have been bricked because I kinda like the Samsung ROM. But mainly, I want my phone to start!

My warranty is still "active" but I have a rooted phone with CWM and the mod "app2sd". Will Samsung notice these things or might they just flash a "working" ROM and then send it back?

It's sds. It can't be booted up without replacing motherboard.
If the counter is zero and binary is official then there should be no issues. If they asking you questions related to rooting which they probably wouldn't just act like a complete ass.
