[Q] I need 1.0.0.928 radio - HTC One V

I am looking for any rom (cdma) that has a radio of 1.0.0.928, as I hope this is why my wifi is not working. (but the phone is) ...
Does anyone have a rom of the htc one v with a radio of 1.0.0.928?

The radio is in the kernel I think.

Would radio affect wifi? I thought it was just the modules inside the kernel's zip file that affect wifi... try flashing a different kernel? What rom are you on now?

[Q] About Latest Radio

Hi,
I see the latest version CyanogenMod which is CyanogenMod-7.0.0-RC1 for Desire GSM V7.0.0 announced today in thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11411840#post11411840) and also latest radio "32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17" for HTC Desire (GSM) in thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=687464).
Shoul I use this radio "32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17" for installing CyanogenMod which is CyanogenMod-7.0.0-RC1 for Desire GSM V7.0.0 or an other?
Thanks...
You can use whichever radio you want as long as you follow proper flashing procedure and you pair it with a correct ril, which you have in separate thread there.

What does RIL do? I keep seeing it around on the forum but sort of read about it but non the wiser. Is it seperate to the actual radio but linked to it?
Yeah, kind of. Think of ril as drivers software and the radio image as bios for your device's radio hardware.

Thank you erklat,
I installed both of them and CM7 works great.
Thanks again...

Bell Desire Z UPDATE RADIO

Hi.
I have an unlocked Bell Desire Z with ENG HBOOT and S-OFF.
Also, It's running CyanogenMOD 7.
My radio is: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
I would like to update the RADIO with the latest to see if I get better signal or faster speeds on my network.
I have 3 questions.
1-. G2 and EU Desire Z radios work with Bell Desire Z (3G 850/1900)?
2-. If I update to 12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17 or 12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_test_18 I , will I be able to go back to my default radio if I don't get better results?
3-. FASTBOOT is the way to flash RADIO, but what about REIL coorelation in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988557&highlight=radio
Is it something to consider?
Bye and thanks.
1. You can flash any DZ radio from any region. Some radios are region specific and may or may not reduce your signal quality.
2. You can always flash an older radio if you dont like the new one.
3. RIL matching is recommended but not truely necessary. I've done it afew times and i have not seen any good or bad from it.

is it posiible to port gsm ics roms to bravoc

Ok so there is alot of development for bravo on ics but only one option for bravoc, as far as ics roms go. Is it possible to change a few files and port the rom to cdma. I read somewhere that you can just replace the kernel with a cdma one, but i have not tested that because I cant seem to get the bravoc kernels from the bcm cm9 rom by DK_zero-cool

When I use to have my desire, flashing a CDMA kernel over a GSM ROM never seemed to work for me. I did successfully boot an ICS ROM, however, by overwriting some files inside the ROM (can't remember which ones). The only problem was that it was not fully functional and had many problems... There is one ICS ROM that I know of that works with the CDMA version of the desire: see HERE.
Guess I'll stick to bcm and hope the lagging is getting fixed

[Q] RIL Confusion

Hi Everyone,
I'm a bit confused with RIL files and i would like to have some clarifications.
From what i am reading on sense roms needs to be flashed with RILs which i get. I currently have Radio 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M and i flash the Ril 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M when i'm using this ROM DHD_WWE_3.12.405.1_STOCK_rooted_by_nitr00. Ok, so for AOSP/AOKP/MIUI Roms i shouldn't need to install andy RILs correct? Just install the ROM and go, right? Also if i do want to try out Sabsa Prime v8.5 is there a new set of Rils that i need to use or do i use the Ril i was using before?
For people who have different brand phones other than HTC is there a Ril alternate that needs to be installed to match the radio or is it flash ROM and go?
Many thanks everyone. This have been stopping me from trialing out different Roms except for modified sense gingerbread roms like ARHD.

Only use RILs on ROMs that are both Sense and pre-ICS. For all other ROMs (like Sabsa Prime, which is ICS) you just flash the ROM and you're good.

Just to make it a little more understandable:
Every Rom needs a RIL;
But in many Custom Roms the Devs already build in the RILs;
The RIL must correspond with your Radio; if it doesnt, you will end up with no Reception;
See the quote below and the the related Thread for more detailed Information.
I just followed the discussion some days ago, cause I wanted to update My Desire HD to the latest Radio, and didn't wanted to brick my phone.
It's always better to understand why things behave like they do, instead of follow some instruction without being aware whats happening.
ShadowPony said:
I don't entirely agree with your statements.
EVERY ROM comes with a RIL. Period. No exception, otherwise the radio doesn't work.
For AOSP ROMs there is a RIL, but have not seen it apart from ROM.
With Sense everything gets weirder because HTC released a new RIL for almost any combination of Sense with OS (at least until ICS, where old RILs no longer function properly)
even with any sense ROM, you can only flash the baseband (radio), and if you have reception problems, then also go for the RIL
also, the latest radio with RIL is: 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M

@o4kareg, GetRIL reports matching baseband/RIL for me with 12.69.60.29_26.17.14.11_M and the corresponding RIL

I use Sabsa Prime 8.5 on radio 12.65.60.29U_26.14.04.28_M without flashing any RIL. GPS and Phone works brilliant!

Right!!
your Rom has the RIL included...
my DHD runs on radio 12.69a.60.29U_26.17.14.11_M also without extra installing RIL...
cause it's included in my ROM by the Dev.

So if i don't want to update my radio what RIL should i use for my version? will the gingerbread Ril be used? and how about AOSP roms? I had be experiences updating the radio before. i've update radio + matching RIL and my phone cannot hold a call connection longer than 10mins.

Unless you have a GB Sense ROM, just use the RIL that came with the ROM.

[Q] Downgrade from hboot 1.39 or compatible sense rom

Hi folks.
I upgraded to hboot 1.39 a while ago to be able to install viper x jelly bean.
What I didn't realize at the time was that the gps would stop working.
I've done some research and what I found is that it can't be downgraded unless you have s-off, which I don't.
So question is: is it really impossible, or is there some miracle cure that I've not come across?
Either downgrade directly, or getting s-off?
Or if no such thing exist, is there a ROM with sense, that supports hboot 1.39 and gps?
Best regards, Norway.

Yup, all of them!
The GPS issue only applies if you flash an AOSP-based 4.1.x ROM. On 4.2.x and Sense ROMs GPS does work.
Did you remember to flash the boot.img?
Sent from my IceCold One X
I can't seem to fin any 4.2.2 roms with sense, but if I understand you correctly, Viper X 3.5.0 should give me gps?
I meant it works on every 4.2.2 ROM you can find, in addition with every Sense ROM including Viperx 3.5.0.
Sent from my IceCold One X
Got you. Thing is, I get no gps signal on Viper 3.5.0. Tried gps status , and it's not picking up any satelites...
Did flash the included boot.img yeah.
any ideas?
Did you find a solution? Have the same issue. Also in Norway
