[Q] Downgrade from hboot 1.39 or compatible sense rom - HTC One X

Hi folks.
I upgraded to hboot 1.39 a while ago to be able to install viper x jelly bean.
What I didn't realize at the time was that the gps would stop working.
I've done some research and what I found is that it can't be downgraded unless you have s-off, which I don't.
So question is: is it really impossible, or is there some miracle cure that I've not come across?
Either downgrade directly, or getting s-off?
Or if no such thing exist, is there a ROM with sense, that supports hboot 1.39 and gps?
Best regards, Norway.

Yup, all of them!
The GPS issue only applies if you flash an AOSP-based 4.1.x ROM. On 4.2.x and Sense ROMs GPS does work.
Did you remember to flash the boot.img?
Sent from my IceCold One X

I can't seem to fin any 4.2.2 roms with sense, but if I understand you correctly, Viper X 3.5.0 should give me gps?

I meant it works on every 4.2.2 ROM you can find, in addition with every Sense ROM including Viperx 3.5.0.

Got you. Thing is, I get no gps signal on Viper 3.5.0. Tried gps status , and it's not picking up any satelites...
Did flash the included boot.img yeah.
any ideas?

Did you find a solution? Have the same issue. Also in Norway

[Q] Desire FM Radio - every station = Static.

Hi There,
I have been using DeFrost and OpenDesire for the last few months, and have therefore not been able to use the FM radio.
It worked when i tried it initially with the stock Sense rom, but nowdays (MIUI, SenseHD and Sense) all i get is static, no matter where i am (outside in good weather etc). My friend with a Nexus One can pick up the stations at the exact same location.
I have tried all the radios back untill 5.09.00.08 (currently using 5.11.05.14), but no difference.
Any ideas?
Josh.
Go back to Stock using a Shipped RUU. If it's still fubar then send it off for a warranty repair.
Make sure your HBOOT is restored if you've flashed the S-Off HBOOT but i think the stock RUU should write the stock HBOOT back on the device for you.
It's not FUBAR, just the FM radio seems to give static. I have no other issues with it whatsoever.
What does an RUU contain that 'might' fix this issue?
Josh.
Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.

Going back to a Stock ROM will ensure that your software is 100% compatible with the hardware. It's naturally the first thing you should do if you start having problems with your device. If you're using a cooked ROM, there's an increased chance that the problem you are experiencing is related to software rather than hardware. In your case, more so since the Desire 2.2 kernel was only recently open sourced, so the FM radio drivers have only recently been included in 2.2 cooked roms.
Hey Josh,
I'm running LeeDrOiD 2.4.1 and have the identical issue with my FM radio. Did you solve it? If so, how?
Thanks,
Keith

[Q] HTC Sense 2.0 and Stock rom 2.10.405

You know what would be cool?
It would be cool if you could extract sense 2.0 somehow and then build a rooted desire stock rom with that version or just a normal rom with a desire base kernel.
So us Desire owners could get our own desire build with sense 2.0 instead of the original sense 1.0
I know about the desire hd roms but thats not what i mean. I tried that.
they are fast but battery hungry. Im waiting patiently for a better build of a desire hd rom. but for now im just using the stock 2.29 rom because that ruu works. Im not using it because of the battery usage. :/
Anyway. Does someknow know where i can get the official stock rom 2.10.405 to my htc desire?
i have a ruu one already but it fails all the time while trying to install. The error 140 i think is a bootloader error.
and my desire isnt branded. Its a Normal HTC phone without a carrier.
Get 2.29.405.2 (the latest) from my signature and flash that if you want to go back to stock
Not cool. It would take hundreds of patches to make new Sense run on old framework and lib base. So either you use SenseHD, either you use old base. No other way
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Okay.
Well actually i want to get the latest sense 2.0 to my desire running without using much battery so fast.
its not quite useful as the phone will be a dead phone in the day because of battery consumption.
Thats why im asking. maybe flashing another kernel while running sense hd rom would solve the problem?. I wonder if it does. .
At the moment im running stock rom 2.29

Yes, thats my case. I want to go back to CM10 and AOKP roms. There are not many good roms who support the 1.31 hboot yet.
I tryied the PA rom based on cm10, dosnt work with hboot 1.31. The only roms who works are Android revolutions hd, cm10_endeavoru-ota-eng.noeri with working gps, wifi.
i dont want stock sense rom, i want a good custom rom, clean rom.
Is there a way to do this with s-off? Any guides who may work on htc one x?
Super thanks!

you simply can't... no S-OFF no downgrade... S-OFF is not possible for now
Because my phone is f*cked up, maybe I'll try to downgrade to H-BOOT 0.95 soon. And what happened? The screen is not pretty much of the time, sometimes it doesn't work, only softbuttons are light up.
THERE IS A WAY TO INSTALL EVERY AOSP Rom available there
at CyanogenMOD 10 "SE" you will havw link for a kernel to run CM10-SE , you can use this kernel for ever AOSP out there to make it run on your HTC One X , you need to follow these steps
1- Flash any AOSP from from Recovery as usual after wiping for sure
2- Dont reboot and use that provided kernel and flash it also inside recovery
3- Reboot into bootloader FastBoot and flash the boot.img inside there kernel as its called "boot_1.23_1.28_hboot_v1.0 " you can rename it as boot.img for easier installing as that for newer hboots and its compaitable with CM10-SE kernel which at this point compaitable with the kernel you have just flashed
but as it indicated it dosent have a functional GPS
with these steps I have been able to try all AOSP Roms
If you need to get the GPS running you may like to try the same above steps using TripNRaVeR flashable kernel zip
I hope that would help you

but since they have managed to find the way to get the gps back for the new hboots at TripNRaVeR Kernel ,im sure it will be available also for other kernels in anytime soon , , so let us wait and cross our fingers here , lucky me I have never needed the GPS here at my country
Well.. we all who have the 1.31 hboot needs to wait for a good performance and batterylife rom.
I really love vanilla rom = With out sense !
I dont know why but on the CM10 or AOKP roms all games working smoothless, buttersmooth! But with all sense roms, you get framedrops and sometimes slow. Why? i dont know why, even with jelly bean sense roms.
That is the diffrence of sense roms and CM10 graficperformance? Are there a way to go for another kernel on jellybean sense rom?
Thanks, hope for a good answer
I have the same problem, i flashed the Renovate rom and used the remove sense launcher and install themed framwork option to get rid of rosie and the ugly notification center... I use it in combination with Nova Launcher, and i must say, i like it!
You still have the default sense apps like music, mail etc, but i prefer them above the aosp variants so thats no problem for me

It seems they will downgrade(probably S-OFF then S-ON after downgrade) the hboot in the process.(And maybe if you're lucky they forget to S-ON )

Wht is the best ROM for HOX

Hi,
I have a rooted HTC One X on eMobile network in Ireland. I am currently running ARHD 9.7.2 I was wondering if there is a ROM someone could recommend for my HOX. Can i run Viper 3.2.2?
My HBOOT is 1.12.0000 so don't think i can use Viper. can anyone recommend something similar to viper that i can use on my HOX? I am in ireland so does that mean only certain ROMS will work on my HOX? Could someone explain?
Thanks in advance.
Rob
There is no "best rom", and asking for that is unfair towards the developers of the different roms. There are several sense based and aosp based roms. Try them out and judge them yourself.
If you want to run JB based sense roms, you need to check if your CID supports an hboot at 1.31 or higher -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
But personally I like and use ViperX, since it is based on the newest firmware from HTC with sense, and has a lot of nice tweaks.
Thanks emperact.
I hope I haven't placed this post in the wrong thread. If i have moderators, i apologies and could you move it to the appropriate thread.
I am also looking for something a rom based on the newest firmware from HTC with sense for my HOX. My CID is 1.12.00000 so it won't support Viper.
Is there anything you could suggest that has newest firmware from HTC that would work on my HOX. New to all this rooting and no matter how much reading you do, you still want to get some advice from people who have experience.
thanks for the reply.
Rob
As i bought my Phone in Ireland does that make it a international Phone. So can use international ROMS?
U have to choose for yourself. Famous onces are ARHD, Insertcoin, MaXimus, ORdroid, Bindroid, MIUI. I've got maXimus and like it. Just try some and see for yourself.

Will the above roms work with my HTC One x? could you send me the link to MaXimus rom that will work on my HOX. HBOOT is 1.12. 00000 S-ON
Thanks man.
Rob
Why don't you just update your hboot? If it is supported ofc. Anyways, if you are on 1.12 and want a Sense rom, I would recommend you to try out ViperX 2.7.1 which is ICS.
If you want to try an AOSP based rom, there are plenty of them here.
Please check your CID-
after this we can know, which roms you can run and will be able t advice some
Hi Guy's,
After a bit of playing around i am finally running Viper3.2.2
Upgraded HBOOT from 1.12 to 1.36using the following link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
Very easy. Running Viper 3.2.2 Android 4.1.1HBOOT 1.36
My CID: HTC_001
Regards,
Rob
Oké, please next time don't open a best rom thread
Just do a little bit of research before.
Solved and locked.

[Q] Best way to revert to 4.1?

I've got an international One X, bootloader unlocked, HBOOT 1.36, running the latest build of ViperX.
The CID is T-MOB001.
What's the best way to go back to Sense 4.1? Either stock or a custom ROM works fine as long as it isn't AOSP-based.
Install a 4.1.1 custom rom.
Is there a specific one you'd recommend? I did look around for 4.1.1 ROMs but most of the links are dead by now.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
I know you have the viper x now, try viper x 3.8.0 ?!
