[Q] HTC Sense 2.0 and Stock rom 2.10.405 - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

You know what would be cool?
It would be cool if you could extract sense 2.0 somehow and then build a rooted desire stock rom with that version or just a normal rom with a desire base kernel.
So us Desire owners could get our own desire build with sense 2.0 instead of the original sense 1.0
I know about the desire hd roms but thats not what i mean. I tried that.
they are fast but battery hungry. Im waiting patiently for a better build of a desire hd rom. but for now im just using the stock 2.29 rom because that ruu works. Im not using it because of the battery usage. :/
Anyway. Does someknow know where i can get the official stock rom 2.10.405 to my htc desire?
i have a ruu one already but it fails all the time while trying to install. The error 140 i think is a bootloader error.
and my desire isnt branded. Its a Normal HTC phone without a carrier.

Get 2.29.405.2 (the latest) from my signature and flash that if you want to go back to stock

Not cool. It would take hundreds of patches to make new Sense run on old framework and lib base. So either you use SenseHD, either you use old base. No other way

Okay.
Well actually i want to get the latest sense 2.0 to my desire running without using much battery so fast.
its not quite useful as the phone will be a dead phone in the day because of battery consumption.
Thats why im asking. maybe flashing another kernel while running sense hd rom would solve the problem?. I wonder if it does. .
At the moment im running stock rom 2.29

[Q] Desire HD - getting back to stock ROM

hey guys,
i'm kinda new to whole android stuff - i have a desire HD stock ROM, no modifications. I'm really interested in flashing it to "android revolution 3.1". So, i read the guides about how to flash rom's.
My only open question is: How can i go back to stock ROM? The Desire HD is running 1.72 atm, and i maybe want to get back to it, if i'm unhappy with custom rom. I read about RUU, but i can't find a RUU for DHD 1.72. It's an unbranded DHD. Would be nice if someone here could help me.
greets!
afaik there are no 1.7x RUU's out.
the 1.7x was just a FOTA of the older 1.3x .
just get your (branded/notbranded) RUU of the 1.3x .
should be fine though.

I m sure you won't want to get back to stock after you get your hands on custom roms
But anyways you ll find 1.72.xx RUU here: http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
Plus you ll have a backup of your stock ROM before you flash a new rom. So should not be any problem anyway.

Q: Update firmware or not

After a shocking experience with the sensation (had two both sluggish as hell and heat was horrendous) I have returned back to what I know the Desire HD
Ive just placed my order with Amazon for a unlocked / unbranded version it will probably come with 2.2 on is it worth the 2.3 update , ive been having a look around this forum and there is mixed experiences.
When I had the desire hd before it was blazing fast (what makes me laugh sensation is a dual core and to me it appeared slower that the hd) but when I had it , the phone had 2.2 on ..... having experienced 2.3 on sensation im really bothered about updating it when I get the phone tomorrow
what do fellow forum users think please
My opinion.. Root + S-OFF it and get a custom ROM. Try ARHD 5.2, it flies
Anyway, if you do not like custom ROMs for some reason (I cannot think why..), you should still update. Gingerbread is just better.
I gess the sensation is slow due to Sense 3.0. You can try any Sense 3.0 ROM in your Desire HD and then try a Sense 2.1 ROM like Android Revolution HD or even the stock ROM and you will see a BIG difference in terms of speed and fluidness.
Before rooting my phone I had the stock Froyo and updated to stock Gingerbread. I didn't notice any difference in speed between the two official ROMS (both were Vodafone branded, by the way).

How to get back to the original ROM from RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.9?

Hello everyone!
I own a HTC Desire HD.
Yesterday, I downgraded my software version of the HTC from a 2.3 GingerBread to 2.2, and rooted my phone. Then, I installed RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.9, the HTC Sense 3.0 graphical user interface.
However, now I want to go back to my old ROM, the original one, with GingerBread.
Or a 2.2 version, then I'll update to GingerBread myself.
My phone is rooted for the moment. I want everything back to normal.
Is there any possibility to do this?
Thank you!
Follow my Sig.
An excellent stock ROM, on the latest build. You won't be disappointed.

Flash an ruu file of what ever version you want (sorry no link since I'm not on my pc), that should unroot your phone.
Next I THINK you need to perform a radio s-on and eng s-on.. Please have a look in development section you should find your answer for sure..
And to point out try the Rom in my sig, interface same as the stock just improved performance...

I managed to make it work and downgraded from RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.9 to 2.2 ( GingerBread to Froyo )
I found a .zip of stock ROM and a program called "atb" or something here on the forum, along with some instructions of how to do it.
Thank you!

Htc one x cid

Hi, sorry i am new here, i had sony xperia S.. but now I have a htc one x and I want to install JELLY BEAN on it but i can (i think)
because the cid is something like VODA..
how can I change it ??
or if there is anyway that i can install a JB ROM !?
You can't install a JB rom that has SENSE yet. (We're waiting for the OTA (over the air) update which will update our firmware so we can use JB sense roms)
You can, however, try AOSP/AOKP roms like CM10, IceColdJelly etc.
At this point, there's no way to change your CID.
so you mean i can install all roms that not have sense ??????? roms like CM 10 without any problems?
yes. Have anything other than jb with sense.

Yes. But when you read through you will see that some have issues of their own like GPS not working, the camera's not as good quality etc. They're perfectly usable though!
thx
and if i want to go back to sense ? becaues i ve installed cm 10 but i got smome white pixels flickering and also and also quadrant = 4000
with other ics sense was like 5400
Install Android Revolution HD 9.7.2 and you've got 6000 points in Quadrant
I wouldn't worry too much about benchmarks. If you're unhappy, you can go to a tweaked sense rom like ARHD 9.xx or back to stock by restoring your nandroid backup that you should have made before installing other roms, or by downloading your stock ruu file (lots of threads around with details).

[Q] Is it possible to flash a stock HTC Sense Rom onto tmobile G2? or best Sense ROM?

Situation:I've read through most of the HTC Sense roms on our forums and most of them show at least a few problems with missing/broken features. Currently on Virtuous Sense 2.1 which I love since the only thing that bothers me is: the "www./.com" is now a tab, one widget resets the htc sense UI(removed it though), and a small amount of lag. Currently I'm intent on having the latest HTC Sense Rom on my G2.
Question: Is it possible to just flash the stock HTC Sense roms onto the G2 and have it update on its own after I flash and unroot itself?
Question: If not, anyone have an HTC Sense rom available that is stable, full features working, little to no lag, and the procedure is forgiving(as in my G2 won't brick easily if I incorrectly executed a step)?
Notes: I used this procedure for rooting from XDA wiki: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...sion#Rooting_the_Vision_.28G2.2FDZ.29_and_DHD). I really liked it because I failed a couple of times and pulled the battery and it still didn't brick however after I flashed, I wiped the sd card(kept backup files though) and replaced it with a higher capacity sd card.
For sense roms on a G2, you need to have the Desire Z hboot. Which from your description, you must already be having. You can go ahead and flash any rom of your choice.

Then after I should unroot and let htc sense update itself?
More than likely you will be better off not going stock if you want to keep root access and leave security flags off. If you do go back to stock you will not be able to run anything more advanced then what you have now, stock is still gingerbread and will never be updated past that unless you use a custom rom. There are many sense roms that are pretty good for the vision, almost all are better than stock in some way, I would suggest trying a few out to find what works best for you

That's just it, I'm tired of going through and flashing roms that are missing features/bugged/slow. Some I like, for instance Gen.Y R3, trickdroid, revolution(all snappy and quick) but they just miss that one feature I need most(eg auto rotate screen or htc locations is broken). Unless someone recommends one that fits the G2 on dzhboot perfectly I'm willing to flash one last time.
Honestly Virtuous Sense 2.1 was probably the best custom rom experience I've had because it had the least problems for my specific needs. It also happened to be the first rom I ever flashed to break my android rooting cherry =P.
Personally, I'm not into a lot of customizing right now, I just want a rom that I am satisfied with and forget about. I'm going back to Virtuous Sense in the meantime while I look for stock HTC sense roms that will update itself so I never have to worry about it again. (anyone know where to find a stock htc sense rom that is going to work on a G2?)
Like I said it won't update it self, htc will never update date this phone again the rom you are using (in my opinion) is better than stock, there are lots of others to try out if you would like, if you want stock that's fine but it will never update past android 2.3.x if you want more features, more stable, better battery life etc... go with a custom rom based off of stock

Thanks, I guess I skimmed over you mentioning the inability to update, alright time to get back on the flashing rom binge, watch me brick
Its real hard to brick your phone just flashing roms, be sure to do a full wipe!
If you need extra help rizzoizzo made a nice tutorial on how to flash roms for beginners, check in the first few pages of general section and be sure to thank him if it helps ya
