Yup, another one of these threads I figured threads like this would be useful for new folks starting out. I think also it would be good to include in your post as to whether or not the file explorer you mention is holo themed or not. So let's get started
I'll go first:
Currently Using: Solid Explorer
Reason: It has a dual pane/window operation that I've found extremely useful
Holo Themed: Kinda but Not really
Root explorer its like 7zip for your phone

+1 on root explorer! Everything is so easy to use

Root Explorer has been perfect for all my needs on just about every Android phone I've used. It's never let me down.
Currently using ASTRO File Explorer but I guess I'll check out Root Explorer now!
I've been using Root Explorer and never had any intention of switching to others

Was about to post Solid Explorer, too. For kind of the same reasons, really like the dual panel and it's root-functions. with the heme set to dark I'm really digging the design.

Keep'em coming guys!
fx explorer
its nice and designed very nice !
Solid explorer is my favorite. The UI is beautiful and is so clean and easy to use

Root explorer..
Like the Read only function/Read and Write function
Also the ability to extract files is a nice addition.
I have used it for every system customization i came across and it has always executed the task flawlessly
No explorer even comes close to Solid Explorer right now. Beautiful ui, fantastic ux, powerful and functional. I was happy to pay for it when it came out of beta.
Root Explorer
Has all functions I like and has a good and clear UI.
ES File Explorer
Es File Explorer has the abilty to see folders shared on the same LAN. Just scroll right and there they are, can install straight from them too.
Do other file explorers have the same ?

Hey xda,
I'm looking for a Task Manager widget. I enjoyed the one that came with my i9000's factory ROM because it showed how many tasks were running on the widget. Are there similar ones that have this capability?
Advanced Task Killer widget only offers a little Android Icon, and I liked knowing how many apps were running at a glance.
Why dont you continue to use the stock samsung app ?
It is not available on Darky's Gingerbread ROM that I am using. I would gladly use it if somebody knew how to port it out of the factory ROM?
He probably uses another launcher. If i had to guess.

Can you elaborate on this? Checked my SD for a system or app directory but didn't find one...do I just have to put it on the SD and run it from the phone?
Use root explorer and place it in /system/ app folder.

Root explorer is a paid app?
I have "My Files" that lets me browse my internal SD, and I don't have a /system or /app folder

Yes! Root explorer is a paid app. It let's you view system files that are hidden in other file managers. Im not aware of any other app that is capable of doing that.

AndExplorer
You can use AndExplorer instead of root explorer. It's free and as robust. Can't post link by just type "AndExplorer" in google and check appbrain
I browsed the SD using ANDexplorer (thank you!) and I found that the Program Monitor widget is already located there....is there something I have to do to enable/install it? When I look through my widgets it isn't there.
Could it be related to me using LauncherPro?

Ah makes sense then. Is there any comparable program that you know of, that shows how many programs are running at a glance? I only really kill tasks when I have 5+, so using something like Advanced Task Killer doesn't work well for me since I'd have to open it just to find out how many tasks are running.
I don't know, maybe I'm too picky
I would recommend u to download minfree manager. Thats not actually showing how many apps are running nor can u kill any apps. But u can tweak androids inner task manager to kill apps earlier based on free rams left. U need root for that and u should be carefull messing with the values. If u need advice with it feel free to ask me.
If u really want a task killer like the samsung one im sorry j cant help u since i dont use something like that.

Set user write

You do not install it by clicking, you have to push. Apk's to system/app/ using adb or file explorer like root explorer

You could go to the GS2 development forums here on XDA, search for a stock rom, download it and extract the .apks.
.....
If u do get it post it up for me

It worked fine for me with stock rooted ROM and zedomax/kernel, however, here is a version with the corresponding odex file.
Is there anyone out there who can elaborate on how to get the ripple lock working on this rom. I've got the clock and music player down, just cant seem to get this to work. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I'm taking it that you got it from PhAkEer's post from the thread?
And by elaborate, are you needing help by placing the file in the proper location? I prefer to use Root Explorer for such tasks.
And I believe you have to set the permission of the file to rw-r--r--

Sorry here's a little more info.
I've gotten up to that point using Root Explorer. I figured i could copy permissions set for other apps. Was that wrong? I've never had to do that before. One thing I wasn't sure about was the other two files(com.joko & com.Funmade) Do they stay in the extracted folder or should they be moved into the system/app folder? I was able to add a settings widget and a randomize widget only. Nothing seems to apply when i go through the settings.
** I remembered having read about widgets not working with the new launcher, so i went back to the old launcher now everything seems to work. I'm still unsure how to set it up as the lock screen though.

I apologize but I'm not back on S5 at the moment. And you're right I believe . That was an apk, not an .so file that I listed the permissions for. Let's see if we can't get PhAkEer to respond..
:edit: I sent a pm asking if they could provide the answer
In the mean time, I'm thinking that the other two don't have any bearing.. here's his post.

Not.flash.
Unpack zip, put lib in /system/lib
PLACE the siso apk in /system app and set permissions.
The other two should just compat with package handler

Unfortunately with version .8, things went, well, wonky. Technical term of the day.
It is a great rom, but couldn't get root to stick for unknown reasons. Not saying you can't root after flashing but VeNuM also had other issues, so best not to put it out for the masses.
Not speaking for him but I think S5 achieved the goal of what he meant the rom to be.
Phakeer was working on trying to patch things up in .8 but don't know the current status.

I donĀ“t get what you are asking. You are trying to browse through the system folder? You can use a root explorer such as file explorer from the market to do that. (you have to enable root access first from menu)

When I still used folder widgets, I liked Folder Organizer. But there's also iPhone Style Folders and AppFolder. (Clearly, I tried a lot of these types of apps.)
However, I now use ReLaunch. No folders necessary!
ReLaunch looks sweet! I'm just going to try it out. Hope it works well with JellyBean.
