When i had my DHD, i loved Revolution Theme by he_stheone64
one thing i missed when moving over to my beloved SGSII was the themed Google search widget.
I pushed it staright to system/app/
and it works beautifully.
Thought id upload it here.
For some reason you get 2 icons added to app list, Maybe needs looking at.
But Market works as far as i can tell
Been wanting this for ages. Thanks alot

EDIT: market search didn't work for me so I used root explorer event to vending.apk and changed owner to 1000-systems, rebooted and all was fixed. Love the new look

You do not install it by clicking, you have to push. Apk's to system/app/ using adb or file explorer like root explorer

remove or rename the old mms.apk app. reboot.. then you'll see the new messaging app
thanks for the reply. but what permissions should i set? should is set it first then restart? do i need to wipe cache? because i did remove the mms.apk and placed the new mms.apk and restarted then i cant see any messaging app anywhere in the app drawer. i restarted three times and messaging app is nowhere to be found.
No need to wipe cache. Permissions -rw-r-r.
Do you need New Market 3.4.6 (Google Play Store)?
Here you go:
File name: com.android.vending-1.apk File size: 3.6 MB
Works fine on XXLPH didn't even need to delete/uninstall the old market.
Thank you for sharing
Edit: don't like the new icon, good thing i can fix that with go launcher

Absolutely incorrect. It works flawlessly on Gingerbread. No idea about ICS.
Try to delete the market vending.apk from Root Explorer, /system/app, and re install the apk. Should work.

*AKA* JobManager.apk
Here we have the stock Gingerbread TaskManager, very handy, I happen to like it. So, if for some reason you accidentally DELETED IT.. Try not to do that, if you delete the wrong system file you probably can't get it back. Just Google how to delete bloatware. Also, this app is from Travmofosho and Nashdogg's Cut&Paste Rom (all credit to him), I did not create this by any means. I have installed it on my Epic 4G which I'm running the [ICS:CM9/JB:CM10 hybrid]ParanoidAndroid v1.99 rom by sgtkwol and it works flawlessly.
If you want to check out sgtkwol's PA, go here --- ParanoidAndroid
What you need to do...
All there is to it, very easy:
-Put the file on your sdcard
-Use Root Explorer (or something else like File Manager) and navigate to the .apk
-Long press Task Manager and select Move
-Navigate to /system/apps/ and mount as r/w and hit paste & long-press apk and change owner to root for both options & change permissions to rw - r - r - -
-Then just mount read only!
Okay, here is the Download link enjoy

hello all
prior to my Note 2 from Tmobile, i had a Galaxy Nexus and miss having the original DeskClock app from Jellybean since you can't dim the Samsung Clock at all.
I extracted the apk from my gnex nand but can't get it to install. i've done the usual copied to /system/app and then tried to install from there and get an error.
also fixed permissions on the apk too. ideas? i'll include the .apk for others to try.
