I've started to get a little frustrated with my phone.
Every ROM I install (AOKP, CM, PA, PAC-Man etc) I am unable to send a picture message... Well I can send one, but the other end receives a blank message.
So I flashed AOKP's 4.2 and decided to try JusTunBean Inverted gapps and low and behold it worked!
So I flashed AOKP again without the inverted gapps and it didn't.
I tried the 1.3.13 CM10.1 tonight and it didn't work.
I flashed the inverted gapps again and it did.
My main question after all this is, what's the difference between the inverted mms.apk and the stock mms.apk?
I'd like to be able to take this information and be able to use it when ParanoidAndroid comes out with the newest release.
Anyone have any ideas or previous experience?

I tried to get GTalk with voice and video working using the method in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062980
After following the directions and opening GTalk I see the video icon in Gtalk, but when I press it I get a FC.
If I initiate a video or voice call from my PC to the phone, the phone will show a GTalk FC.
I'm tried it with Tiamat 3.3.7 SBC and Savagedzen 2.1.0 BFS kernels with the same results. (I'm using CM 7.0.2.1)
I also tried changing the permission of the Talk.apk to RWX.
I know i'm close, I'm looking for any additional info. anyone who has this working with CM7 can give me
I don't have a particular fix for this, but thought i'd give a heads up that i just flashed the latest CM7 Nightly, which brings the phone up to 2.3.4.
I flashed the latest gApps and the GTalk with video is working PERFECTLY.
I guess what i'm trying to say is that if you are willing to move to Nightlies, it would work for you with a lot less effort.

Thanks for the info. I may give it a try.
Two questions;
1) Where are you getting gapps specifically for CM7 builds? I collected so many different GB gapps over the last two days that I've forgotten which version goes with which ROM.
2) Which kernel are you using with that nightly build? I was considering trying Tiamat 4.* (sic) with CM7.
There are two different links. Have you tried the one labeled "Test" yet? And I am having the same problem on Evervolv Wimacs b6.

1. Here's the most recent gApps that i used:
http://www.mediafire.com/?pq6ji8c0pl9kcq9
2. I use the stock CM kernel that comes with flashing there ROM. they put a lot of time and effort into it and i think it is underrated. It does me good, personally.
Thanks for the link. I'll have to give it another try.
EDIT: Flashed CM7-64 with the latest gapps (20110504, I think) and GTalk is working.
Thanks bweisholtz.
I am having an issue with Gmail on Ktoonz AOKP JB rom. When I set up a second Gmail account I get a sync error. I am running the 10/28 build with the 10/12 GAPPS. I believe this started with the 10/22 build but not sure. Any help would appreciated

Ktoonsez doesnt have a aokp rom that he does on his own. If you're talking about mine and ktoonsez's aokp ROM then you should probably clear data for the gmail app. Also. You have enough posts to ask this in the ROM thread itself or the Q & A thread for our aokp ROM. Why did you start a whole thread for this question? Seems kinda pointless.
In some roms, developers put in a special mms.apk that has an option at the top of the settings called something like "Appearance Settings" that allows you to change pretty much all of the colors in the app, and add bubbles to the conversations.
I know one rom that had this was PACman rom 4.1.2. Once it went to 4.2.1 it was gone.
I tried the one from this ROM - Vanilla Rootbox 4.2.2. Since it and the rom I am using are both 4.2.2 I figured it would work, but it just crashes at startup.
I'm using the latest CM10.1 4.2.2. Does a compatible version of this exist out there? And if not yet, is there a thread or something that I can keep checking on its development? I simply don't even know the name of it, even though I have searched quite a bit for it.
Thanks
I've been using CM 10 and 10.1 nightly builds on my Verizon GNex for quite some time without issue. Yesterday I decided to try the Carbon Rom(4/22 nightly, 4/23 nightly and 1.6 Stable) and had the same issue on all.
I get no WiFi, or 3G/4G signal. If I try to launch the browser it flashes on the screen for a second and then disappears. It's basically unusable for me. I did a clean flash to make sure nothing from the CM 10.1 Rom would cause any issues but still have the same problems.
I really wanted to check out that Rom because it looks pretty nice and is supposed to be really fast.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try? The Rom itself installs fine, but once it's installed I have those issues.
I looked through a bunch of the forum pages for the actual Rom itself on here and didn't notice anyone else reporting these issues so I'm not sure why I'm seeing this. I've installed other Roms other than CM without issues.
Thanks,
Ben

1 question, did you flash gapps package? Because I had that problem when I just flashed Carbon ROM ... Wanted to check out if there's a file explorer in the ROM itself ...

Right now I'm trying the kernel that comes with Carbon. I did do a full wipe prior to installing the Rom.
I downloaded the Xylon Rom yesterday and that installed with no problems at all. So not sure why Carbon is having these issues on my phone.
i am using ak kernel 207
i used the kernel with the rom and had no issues with it also..but ak kernel + carbon = best battery
and the pa setting added now is a icing on the cake,i dont need anything else
WiFi is not working at all, I used TWRP, wipe and advanced wipe, but still can not succeeded.
Well, I am using the latest Carbon Nightly with SmittyV Kernel (also the latest one) and it's working pretty well
Not perfect because my phone sometimes shuts down randomly and it still has some issues like when using the Carbon Active Display with the default messaging app (the "unread message" notification doesn't go away even after I reply to the message and close the app with the back button) and it sometimes freezes the phone (making me have to remove the battery to turn it off and then reboot).
Other than that I'm not having any problems with Wi-Fi. Try to install another rom then install again the carbon rom wiping everything in both flashes
Is it true that CM10.x and inverted gapps don't play well together?
I've just gone back to CM (10.3) and I cannot find inverted gapps 4.2.2.
I really do like the inverted...I'd hate to think I'd have to leave CM10 in order to use the inverted.

Not sure about cm ....haven't used it in awhile....but a lot of 4.2.2 roms have a "dark" switch in settings now days. Inverts most gapps apps.

If you use the AIO Aroma, it gives you the option of "Toggleable" or not for some apps. This is for 4.2.2, and I have used them on AOKP, Carbon, and CM, without fault. (4.2.2 that is...unless I read your request wrong)
With that said tho, you know the drill...Backup first, then play.
