Hello, anyone having issues with Google Music or any other player not working on any of the CM10 Builds? I have flashed all three current CM10 Roms out as of today and none work. It seems it wont recognize the files on my sd card but I can flash to stock or any other rom and it woks fine. Thanks!
Work fine for me...are you doing a clean install?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Yes, clean install. I do factory reset, wipe cach, and wipe dalvik twice before installing any rom. Its kind of mind boggling because if I flash the Jellybomb, Macs, Whopasaurus, or stock roms I have no problem. Its only with the CM10 builds.I have also tried installing other players from the market and they do not recognize my music but when I plug in my computer using mass storage, my computer shows it on my sd card and I can select and play using windows music player from the list. I'm hoping to find a solution because I would like to keep the pacman rom as a dd.
Is the sdcard fat32 or exfat? Cm10 does not read exfat

I noticed this too along with choppy/laggy audio w/ apollo and google music. Switched to poweramp. Solved both problems

I have used MIUI since June with no problems at all, I then tried to install the 9.30 update. It didn't install right even though MD5 matched (stuck on the white HTC Incredible screen). I tried restoring to my backup and after rebooting nothing happened. It tries going to the boot animation but doesn't, just goes to a black screen. I've let it sit for an hour there and nothing happens. I tried resolving this on the MIUI.us forums, but no responses so far.
At that point I tried cm7, it worked but was really glitchy and bootlooping. cm6 was next, and it was working mostly but didn't seem stable to run. I then tried going back to MIUI all of them, 8.19, 9.2, and 9.9 as well as the 9.30, did not install.
I am now running the rooted stock rom and it seems to be running fine these past two weeks (aside from the fact it's sense). Over the weekend I tried, again, to install MIUI and restore a backup but it's still not working. And to make matters worse cm6 and 7 are no longer running.
I have also tried all of the above with CWM 3.0.0.8, CWM 5.0.0.2, and Amon_RA 3.02 (no restore to test) and have had the same issues across all recoveries.
It really seems like my phone has become allergic to any AOSP rom, I haven't tried other sense roms but I'm expecting them to work since the rooted stock rom has both installed and restored with no issues.
I have not tried going back to bone-stock and then re-rooting as that would be a pain. But if it is my only option to get back to MIUI then I will give it a shot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Before you flash a ROM do you:
Clear data: Wipe user data/factory reset
Mounts and Storage - format /system, format /boot, format /data, format /cache
Advanced - Wipe Dalvik
Then flash the ROM?
Before a new rom (not btwn miui updates) I normally wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik. But I don't do anything in mounts and storage unless I need to mount usb storage.

I would back up your current working ROM, try what I mentioned above, and then try flashing MIUI again.
In Mounts and Storage, you'll have the option to format emmc, and sd card too. Just make sure you ARE NOT selecting those items, as obviously you want those intact. If you follow the instruction above, you should be fine.
Got proper HBOOT version?

When I get home I will try doing everything suggested.
My hboot is 92 I believe.

Ok, I did all of the above and still have no luck in installing MIUI or restoring a backup.
Also, I didn't mention this in the first post. When I try and boot from a restored MIUI and it tries to load the boot animation I can still reset the phone with the 3-finger salute, so the phone is still doing something just not what it's supposed to. I did try flashing another boot screen incase there was something wrong with the backup, but that didn't work.
Any other ideas out there?
Tried a different sd? Copy and paste the contents of sd to pc, reformat sd fat32, copy contents back to sd, see if issue persists.
If reformatted native sd doesn't help, perhaps try another.

I just tried both a different sd card as well as reformatting my current one, in both cases I can't install MIUI nor CM6.
Stumped here... Only other thing I can think to try is a Sense ROM on either/both sd's to see what boots and runs without issue.

As I mentioned already I'm currently running the rooted stock gb rom, which is sense. I can try another sense rom just for fun.

Yep, apologies. Speculation on my part:
Bad sd. AOSP interacts with sd on boot and during normal use, device acts up only with AOSP, hence bad sd.
Also, when flashing the AOSP ROM on newly formatted sd, wipe of mounts (data, cache, boot, and system) as well as factory reset, cache partition, and dalvik, all from recovery were successful?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
So sense does not interact with sd the same way as aosp? What could be the problem with the sd card that allows it to do everything but allow it to boot aosp roms (especially since I have tried 2 different ones) ?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
AOSP calls on and even interacts the sd during boot, as well as during normal use. If your device is only wonky running AOSP, I'd suspect the sd, provided a complete wipe is done and the cwm, radio, and HBOOT are what's called for by the AOSP ROM.
Assume nothing restored to fresh aosp install, correct?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
Yeah, a restore or a fresh install has problems. If I install and then remove the sd card would it possibly boot then?
I'm still confused as to how the sd card can do everything else that it's supposed to but not talk to an aosp rom.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
AOSP uses the sd to operate, Sense does not.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA Premium App
What I still don't understand then, if it is the SD card, why do I still have the problem with a different sd card?
Is it possible that it is hardware related, or something else, with the phone? I am able to read and write to the SD card when operating the phone, but the issue only appears to happen at boot.
This weekend I may try and unroot and then reroot, just incase some important files got corrupted. as the unroot would replace nearly everything it should fix the problem if it isn't hardware... I'm hoping.
Stumped... Hard to say.

Well, I got tired of sense so I flashed the RUU, reloaded CWM 5.0.0.2 and restored my old rom... it worked. So now I'm fixed, yay.
Thanks for helping me troubleshoot it.
I've been looking for a ROM for this phone and I've used some of the best. Like cm9, wild child etc but every Rom has major issues like data or mms. So I just need a custom Rom that's stable.

There isn't one for us. Stock is it.

I would try WildChild 3.3 DeOdex, i have been using it as a daily driver and have found very few problems. As for the mms if you use GoSms or even better GoChat i can send and receive anything. Backup and do all your wipes, now is not a bad time to partition your card, I have a 4gb card I partitioned in CWM I chose IM 1024, next 0M, now go to mounts and storage put the files on your SD card, flash the WC 3.3 deodexed, then flash the Virgin Mobile patch for HenseMod, yes even if your not Virgin Mobile, reboot and see if all works, mine did not the first couple times, it boot looped a couple times, I reflashed the ROM and Patch, for good measure I made sure to wipe again and it works like a charm. After that I rebooted back into recovery and ran the Data2SD script, it gave me 2.7gb on SD card and 915mb on Internal memory. I Benchmarked at 2069, so its pretty snappy.

Im using wc 3.3 now. And Iits kind of OK .I've partitioned my SD card and can't even mount it.
Sent from my HTC-PG762 using xda app-developers app
How did you partition? And have you tried to go to CWM and under the advanced tab try to format everything and then try to partition again. If that don't work I would try and use a card reader and run some sort of disc utility and see if the card is corrupt.
I did it with cwm first then I was unsure about the mount so I mounted as disk drive and used mini partition wizard thingy. And just did it again. To be sure. But make sure you back up on cpu

So are you saying you did get it to mount?

Try Superior Sense. :good:
The most Stable one out there imho. Its Based on Sense but the folding and flipping animations add a superb feel to the phone.
Not encountered one Force close. .
As for me I am not in a mood for changing roms anytime soon......but henry01 released a new MIUI version.....muahahahahahahahahaha.

hello good people of XDA , i am here to ask some questions.
i recently brick my GIO, so i had to reflash it. i was previously on stock GB, so now i think i'm gonna taste CM10.1 nigthly (30.1.2013)
its a nice ROM but i noticed something that's bugging me.
the gallery and the apollo music app wont detect my picture and music till about 1 hour or so.
i tried other 10.1 based ROMS and its the same problem.
now im using CM7.2 and soon after booting my gallery is already filled with my pictures and default music app detects all my music instantly.
is it just my GIO having this problem, or anyone else is having this issue as well?
Yup! Same here!! It might b its drawback.

also here! Right now im in cm10 by jellaxy and apollo, gallery works fine!
No problems here , never did since the first release of 10.1 by OldDroid , nor did i ever have it with other roms. Maybe your card has problems but if you say that it works on other roms ... i don`t know , try reflashing , wipe data / cache / sd-ext / dalvik and also format /system /data /cache /sd-ext.
thanks for all the reply
i know my SD is only class 4, but as i said, i have this problem only on CM10.1
i already tried reflashing it, wipe everything. try another CM10.1 based ROM, n still the same problem.
i tried increasing my SD read speed, it does give noticeable difference, but i still have to wait for more than 10 minutes for the gallery n apollo to detect my media
with any other CM7 or 9 ROM i have no problem.
currently im using Jellybread ROM n its working just fine.
I just flashed the XenonHD stable 5.0 ROM on my Gnex (clean flash), coming from LIQUIDSMOOTH. Before the wipe/flash I had only used about 9.4 or 9.7GB (can't remember which) of my 13.33GB of data. After wiping/flashing, re-downloading my apps, etc. It says I've used about 13GB of storage, with roughly 500MB left. I deleted all my music which cleared about 3.04GB, but I can't just not have my music. Any ideas on why this happened?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Look in the Storage section of settings. Should show you what's using the memory. Could also be NANDroids just sitting there taking 1-2gb each.
Are you coming from android version 4.1.1?
The biggest thing is miscellaneous files. The two taking up the most space are clockworkmod and 0. I noticed I now have sdcard/0/0. They all sdcard/0 seems to be my normal root folder, but the second one is my old root folder before wiping and flashing. That's where I deleted all my music, since that's where it was before wiping and flashing.
And my previous ROM was on 4.2.1, this one is 4.2.2
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Then why did you have to ask us?Update your recovery to one that properly handles the new file system. Delete some of the NAND's stored in CWM. Get rid of all the 0's except one.
I asked because I had no idea that's what I should do. How do I go about doing that? Not everyone's a genius at this.

R: Storage space problem after flash?
Fast simple way Imho is to install goomanager, install script from that (it update to last Twrp recovery) wipe e re flash your favorite rom.

Hey,
I'd been using the PAC rom for a while and have had problems after updating to ES File Explorer 3 with it force closing (the older version worked fine!).
I see the screen for a second then get sent back to the launcher. CM File Manager still works though.
I had the same problem with Google Play music and Apollo, but I just use PowerAmp anyway so it doesn't bother me.
All other apps like Chrome etc. still worked fine.
So I did a system wipe and upgraded from PAC v22 -> v22.1.1 (system wipe, cache wipe, dalvik wipe, permissions etc.) and it didn't fix it.
The new rom caused another problem though, now my phone will work fine for about 6~ hours on standby, then slowly become sluggish and unresponsive, to the point where I have to reboot to use it again. So I obviously formatted system/cache/dalvik/permissions and did a reinstall, but it didn't fix anything.
I my only guess is that there might be something wrong with the partitioning or filesystem? I don't know what to check to figure out what the problem is though.
Thanks
Have you try to wipe data?
Fresh install always fix problems.
Backup your current rom.
Do a complete fresh install of PAC including wiping data. Re download your most used (necessary) apps and try it for a few days. Hopefully it'll just be corrupted data somewhere and not a hardware issue. Cus the latest pure pac is very smooth and fast for me. And i too always use es file explorer.
