Antutu Benchmark !!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I was as always keep flashing an testing all rom and kernels over here from 2 years ago, I noticed that I didn't make benchmark test at least for the last 8-9 months...
So I took a try and the results was variable between 15000 and 19700 depending on rom and kernel whether with stock clock or overclocked....anyway till now seems ok
But to see in the global ranking some guys having 24000+ as a result whereas with all roms I tested never crossed the 20000 thats really annoyed
Did any one of you had that much result I mean over 24000???
If yes at which rom and wich kernel....or even how you got that score....just want to try how powerful will the phone be and how long will this monster battery last....
Good Day Everybody

[Q] Lemon Processor? [Solved]

After owning the Galaxy S3 for 2 months and doing lots of flashing of roms and kernels, I've decided that I have a lemon CPU. So my GSIII can't score over 6000 in Antutu, even at 2Ghz/Performance (it actually scored 4800 @ that speed), because the processor score is so low. The highest I've scored in Quadrant is ~5800, @ 2Ghz/Performance. I can't undervolt below 1050/1075 mv @ 384 because I get crackling when listening to music. It runs all smooth though. I had some performance issues in NOVA 3, but I think that was a rom issue. So, what do you guys think?
The rom you use will drastically change your benchmarking scores. For instance. I used to always get under 6000 in Antutu on every TW rom. OCd to 2 GHz as well. Now I am running JB CM10 and am getting well over 8000. No crackling in music while undervolt etc.
Your CPU is fine

I tried CM10 too though... About a month ago. Same 4900ish score. I got like 6000 one time on a TW rom.
Edit: I retract that. I tried the new JB TW rom and got 6000... with power saver... on Antutu. Maybe I just have a finicky CPU! Looks like for the first time ever, with the JB TW Rom, I hit a few points of 8000 in Antutu and 6000 in Quadrant... I don't know what the deal is. I have been trying different roms since the beginning of August and then today I tried a new one that worked for me. I guess I retract my question. Thanks!
Anytime! Remember those benchmarks can vary drastically even between test. A reboot could give you an extra 1000. Use them with a grain of salt.
Don't forget to use sunspider! Its a web based benchmark that tests your browsers speed.

low quadrant scores? heating issue cause underclock?

So I just got a white at&t s3 and loving it so far. Rooted with custom rom. I tried to see if my quadrant score would be about the same as everyone else. Every one getting 4800-5500 scores. For some reason my scores average are in the range from 3800-4000. It seems likes its under clocking the cpu maybe because of a heat issue? I managed to score 4800 once. Any help or ideas please.
Who cares anyways. It spits out numbers. I had 7800 on one test. 5 min later I had 3000, 20 min later I had 4500. Does nothing
i see your point, but I just want to make sure I don't have any defects on my phone. I wouldn't want a car that says its labeled to go as fast as 200mph but I only can get to go 120. What if mine is just bad you know. Jw if there are any test or apps that can check everything and make sure its running the way its meant to be.
Yea i hate it

I would not think my device is not working properly because it didn't score as high as other people say in Quadrant Standard. LOL

Regular CPU Settings or Reduced CPU for Battery

Does anybody know if having the normal settings are better or under clocking (say 1Ghz) for battery for this particular phone?
I also know that a higher speed can perform the calculations faster and thus save power. But, I'm just curious if there is a sweet spot.

Have you tried under volting, by using a custom kernel. Word of warning not all CPU built equal.

I'm using Faux's kernel which had reduced voltage setting already.
I'm just curious.

The best way to really tell woukd be to step the max freq. down by one or two and run it for a day or two. If it runs stable and you don't notice any issues you'll prob be good to go. My guess would be running between 1.2-1.3ghz would be a good spot.
I'm honestly not sure you'd see much difference in battery though since its probably running much slower than that most of the time its not sleeping anyway.
Plus I think I remember seeing somewhere that the power used to run at 1.5 is the same it uses to run at 1.3.
If your going to see improvement in battery its more likely you'll get that from voltage adjustments and your governor choice. You'd probably be best served by reading through the kernel thread to see what others have tried and reported.

Best custom ROM for LG Nitro?

In your opinion, what is the best ROM you've used?

HO!NO! Full Throttle but I'm still testing pA 2.35. Wish we had a oc/uv kernel for JB/CM10.

It would be nice. Tweaks are good for now but remember, nothing is impossible. It'll happen. Just give it time.

I use CM9 RC1. For some reason it works much better than RC2 and the stable version on my phone.

CyanogenMod 10 was just released as stable for us, I believe soon enough they will develop and overclock kernel and we'll be all set.
However, does anyone think that a downgrade to HONO Full Throttle is worth it for the ability to overclock? From what I understand, it is a small OC of about 20% to 1.86Ghz. Does it really make that big of a difference?

If you want try it then make a backup and test it out. Full throttle is a step back and I prefer the JB ROMs. But its worth a shot. Just watch your battery stats with OCing, Typically a higher CPU uses more battery.

Full Throttle is my daily driver. It's a small OC but it's better than nothing. My Antutu score hit 7200 and my Quadrant averages 3750. I also OC the GPU even though its default is already OC'd. The battery on Full Throttle is FAR better than any JB ROM I've used, so far. On a normal day (txting, couple calls, browsing, ect) I get about 20+ hours w/ 3hrs of 'Screen On' time. It may be a downgrade, but it's best I've used. I also have my UV settings set to best battery life w/out causing reboots. Love Full Throttle! Patiently waiting for HO!NO! to commence dev work and see what else he has to offer.
EDIT: I just leave the OC stock @ 1728Mhz as well. I tried 1836 but after playing a game for a bit it overheats and reboots. Also doesn't pass a stability test @ 1836, but every phone seems different on what clock it can handle..
Okay, I've tried both.
From a very limited usage, I am going to conclude that CM10 stable is currently the better ROM. Being able to overclock ~20% on an older ROM does not actually match the performance boost of upgrading to a new, more efficient ROM. Now if only we had more developers for the Nitro.

Wait. So u asked today if it would be worth trying Full Throttle, and now you "have" and conclude cm10 stable is better simply b/c it's newer? JB is smoother, yes, but I seriously doubt you gave the Full Throttle ROM a proper run (2-3 days). My 4 days of cm10 "stable" was riddled with reboots and battery drain equal to about 7%/hr. Smooth, yes.
EDIT: If you haven't tried it, pA 2.5x is pretty cool. It's based on CM10 stable now. The battery life is horrible, but there wasn't any annoying reboots.

I beg to differ on the reboots... actually, no. I call them random shut-downs. Had 3 since flashing 2.55, but I'm still sticking with it. X0dus, I just don't understand how you get so much better battery life on FT than any of the CM10 variants. I'm not disputing it, I just don't get it. If anything, the experience I had as far as battery life goes was about equal. In fact, the best battery life I've gotten so far was on an earlier, buggier version of CM10.
About an hr and half screen on time w/ stock battery. Not a normal use day due to 10hr shift but still use

Mother of God... that's absolutely insane. Even with the Hyperion extended battery I couldn't get that kind of time... I don't do much calls or texting, no games, but I do a good bit of web browsing. Even on FT I couldn't pull those numbers.
Although I did pull something like 1 day 6 hours on that CM10 version I mentioned earlier... had about 3 hours screen on time.. but again, extended battery.

Nice. I love the performance of JB but I can't give this sort of battery life up. All JB ROMS drain is terrible for me. I swear it's the uv'n I do with FT that helps. If I go any lower with uv I get reboots.

BENCHMARK SCORES! - post your best scores!

Lets all post our Benchmarks!
I am using Antutu Benchmark found at the play store for free
I am currently running the Infamous1.5 ROM based on android 4.1.2
with the Infamous kernel .7.4 by Jamison904
BTW... I have about 85 or so personal apps installed in this mod
I am also running the World Weather Clock Widget at the same time
and I am not running any kernel tweaking software...
here is my score...
btw what is benchmark?

a benchmark is basically a set of tests to see how fast your phone is running
here is the dictionary meaning...
bench·mark
/ˈbenCHˌmärk/
Noun
A standard or point of reference against which things may be compared or assessed.
Verb
Evaluate or check (something) by comparison with a standard: "we are benchmarking our performance against external criteria".
if you want to compare your device to others
go to playstore and download Antutu Benchmark and run it
I know my device would score low...I'm setup for stability and battery life.
Those with really high scores are tweaked for Max performance and probably carry an a/c charger in their pockets!

Btw about 115 personal apps no mods at the moment.

Actually I posted a benchmark and mentioned that screen was on for one hour. It was mainly a response to an earlier post about high performance means battery sacrifice. More people on this forum need to learn the balance between power vs stability/battery. Not directed at anyone in particular btw

That's great and all, but hardly surprising. It's about double in scores because it has double the cores. Personally for me this would have no positive effect on my phone usage, but I would have a worse camera and have to use an lcd screen.

Yea.. not for me. A much faster phone would be nice. The Nexus 4 is much faster and smoother on all fronts. I've had 3 t989s and the camera is absolutely nothing to write home about. Compared to an exynos powered GS2, the sensor on this camera sucks.. and don't say theyre the same because they are not. SAMOLED is awesome but outdoors it's a pile of sh*t.
Point is, to each their own.
