So I know this probably isn't going to be one of the best questions, but do guys think I should stick around with Verizon and get the Dinc 4glte, or should I move to Sprint and get new Evo? I really wanna know what you fine gentlemen ( and gentle women) think.

i think... GSM
I would stick with verizon. Sprint has horible reception at least where i live and their customer service is even worse. Also the evo 4g was a crappy phone, my wife had one and it was nothing but issue after issue. It also had horible battery life, and would sometimes not charge even though it said it was.

+1, CDMA networks have a faster LTE capability but GSM will bring you a lot more benefits particularly with nexus devices. Personally, I am thinking about going to AT&T or T-Mobile after my contract with Verizon expires next April and buying a gnex or the next nexus device if it will be available by then. Verizon is, in my opinion, the best network in terms of customer service and cell reception but they are also aware of that and take advantage of that fact by leaching their customers and bloating phones for no reason. You are far better off with a GSM network like AT&T for good reception or t-mobile and you can still get an unlimited plan for a reasonable price.
Thanks a lot guys! I really do want to stick with Verizon, but with the income I make being a 16 year old dishwasher, its kinda hard to afford it. The only reason I would move to sprint is because of the cheaper contracts and the Evo (even though I've heard some pretty interesting defects on it.) I still have until December to make up my mind if I don't want to pay for early termination.

Yeah I highly recommended T-Mobile for those who have their coverage in their area. If not, then ATT. I suggest T-Mobile first, because at least in my opinion, they have cheaper prices and better customer support. I pay $15 a month right now on T-Mobile
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I was comparing prices over the weekend and found that as of right now, it is cheaper for me and my wife to stay with Verizon. Our contract is up in Dec, if signing a new one forces us into the tiered plan, we will probably switch to sprint, they still have unlimited as of right now. But if I can keep my unlimited even though we sign a new contract, I will stay with Verizon and buy my phones through swappa or Google if they really do come out with a new Nexus that they will sell themselves. It all depends on the unlimited factor for me. If would like to check out t-mobile but I don't know anyone around me who has it. AT&T is a no go, we left them for Verizon because of poor reception, we called and they said they had a tower down in our area due to corrosion, that means rust to me and that is just lazy on their part.
It might be time to rethink my usage and dependence on a cell phone.
You can get a $25 T-Mobile phone and a free sim if you go into the store or $1 if you buy online to test out their coverage

Debating N4 vs Note 2
Speed test in my area:
Sprint average 150kbs (my phone)
Tmobile average 6MBS (cousins phone)
What would you do....
People always say "yo, I'm 'bout ta jump dis ship, who's coming??" I don't exactly understand it. Have you been having terrible service with sprint? Is the development just not the same? Granted, the Nexus 4 seems to be a very powerful device, but I'm just curious, because there has been a lot of "development is really slowing down" being thrown around, and yes, we have lost some development from some very good devs, but right now we have a lot of good things going on. This CM10 beta 2 is unbelievable. This feels like a knew phone.
**OR** I could be just completely out of line, I guess I'm just wondering why people are so interested in getting away from this device in particular.
WOW, maybe there's just a good connection is just in my area. 150kbps is terrible....

I kinda feel the same way, I think this device is getting better and better, but....that $300 price tag is enticing, but....no swappable battery. So no dice LG and Google, no dice. Waiting on the S4. I need a quantum leap between phones, I think the s2 to s4 might be that and I've had this since launch day.

Or maybe because people just like new shiny things lol. It's natural.
And as mentioned earlier, $300 price tag with no contract.., not to mention a premium Nexus device? That's a no brainer. I won't be jumping ship, 'cause I'm tied down in my contract with Sprint until June 2013. Although if I had the opportunity, I'd probably do it. If you don't like the service/phone, sell phone, take a small loss, and go to another carrier. Simple.
I am. I'm tired of Sprint's slow 3g data and inconsistent wimax.

Believe me guys you dont need "LTE" what you need is faster data and I stay over 8mbps and have peaked near 20mbs on ocassion. More than enough for whatever it is you are doing. They can label it how they want HSPA, LTE, Wimax but all I care about is numbers and 8mbps+ are great numbers for me.
Jumping to TMobile where you can be online make calls and tether at the same damn time....:good:
Also on prepaid $70 flat a month
My bad oh yea NExus 4 no contract no brainer since if you dont like the phone your can sell it and get something else and slide the sim card in... If you are jumping go prepaid at first

Yes there are apps on the market 1 being GrooveIP that can handle your request. To me for speed and the ability to do things in 2012-2013 you need faster speeds. I now run Plex Server from my house - no problems Slingbox from my house - no problems and anything else I want.... good upload speeds at home and fast internet on phone = pure bliss :good::good:

Sprint has many problems beyond just their data rates. They're hemmhoraging customers for many reasons. In any case, where I live (Phoenix area) all other carriers and even several MVNO's offer 4g and have done so for several years now. We're the 6th largest city in the US. Even AT&T provides better service than Sprint.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2135690
They're currently offering gimmick enticements to get poeple to join, but hopefully nobody falls for this scam of a company. They rob you blind with their contracts that have "rate creep", constant billing errors in their favor that you have to call to correct every month (and calling involves CSR roulette and re-explaining your situation about 3-5 times to different people,) and then provide horrible service.
They used to be the "value" provider (cheap rates, but you get what you pay for) which I was fine with. However over time I was paying more than verizon customers pay while still retaining the inferior service.

Definitely agree with you there, I used to manage a radio shack which was a 3rd party authorized sprint, verizon, and at the time cingular -> att dealer. Every customer looking for the best "value", or those with low incomes/bad credit...sprint was the go to solution. At the time, they were the only carrier offering somewhat cheap down payments for bad credit. My sprint rep even said once at the bar after a long day of inventory, that they count on the fact that a good percentage of their customers aren't english speaking, don't really read the bills, and therefore do not call to complain. Then to top it off over the last few years they've just wasted money picking up IDEN networks from ww2, attempting to merge, realizing its not effective, "rolling" out wimax that never made it to most areas of NY....and now the LTE being nonexistent, without my AirRave, i never go above 50-75 kb/s downloads on 3g...how can you even call that 3g? lol...;\
Regretting i never kept my employee plans, even if no longer working for the company could have kept $10/month no contract unlimited corporate everything.
Don't have pictures but when I drive up to Indianapolis I can get 1 down, sprint gnex.

With me just coming from Sprint I have this to say
You would have to shoot me in the face to get me to ever give another penny to Sprint. Their 3g data speeds are horrific in most places (even in places that have network vision dine, it's just "meh" speed, still sub par) I could never get above a 20 kb/s download rate. Not to mention how much more expensive they are with their plans (when I was with then, I had the cheapest available, 450 min and unlimited everything else for 69.99 a month.) Back in the day, Sprint could compete, but they let their towers become dated and do to little to late when they finally do decide to do something about it. Not to mention hour they boned their wimax phone buyers.

Rather it be Dish than Sprint. Had a 4g phone since wimax came out... then LTE.... Still no 4g in Savannah. I said goodbye to them when the S4 came out and switched to tmo. Got them to cancel the early termination fee because of the past few years of bad service in the entire Southeast area of GA and SC. Took a week of convincing.
Then Tmo: It was instant "oh this is what 4g is like!" Roommate is still getting 10-100 KILObytes on Sprint, while I'm getting 15-26mb on Tmo. Suck it Sprint.

Seems to me that AT&T tried this not too long ago. The result? Fed Govt said "Nope, not going to happen" AT&T got pissy and walked away.. but not before paying T-Mo a pretty sizeable chunk of cash because the merger didn't go through.

I'd have little problem with Dish, it could end up benefiting both sides. Still, T-Mobile stands to benefit less from a takeover now than they would have in the past. On the upswing as a carrier, or so it seems.
US wants 4 "major" carriers so unlikely tmo and sprint would merge anymore than tmo and at&t merger was approved by feds.
As for Dish (puke) they can't hardly run tv without being aluminum siding/used car salesmen. They'd be worse than the old nextel (which is where sprint got 95% of their terrible rape, pillage and burn customer service habits).
Full disclosure: was sprint customer almost 10 years (yes im a suicidal masochist lol) before givi g up in disgust & going to att for 3 and now on tmo.
TBH, only went with tmo because of pretty seamless wifi calling (no carrier signal works worth a dam at my house)

Softbank has DEEP pockets. They're just using the AMERICAN name of Sprint for the transaction. Softbank wants them to expand their US market and become the #2 carrier in the WORLD.
I hope this doesn't happen. T Mobile could lose some of its cool services, should the new company decide to phase them out.

An article I read not too long ago says the talks are only for buying baseband frequencies off of t-mobile. Basically, I think sprint thinks it will be cheaper to buy already implemented 4g instead of doing it themselves. That is one of the reasons I left sprint. Promised me 4g 3 years ago, and still nothing around here.

Good Point here from the article -- Even if it were to secure the huge funding to buy T-Mobile, we have to think such consolidation in the wireless industry would be viewed as detrimental to consumer choice by the FCC and SEC alike. --
Hopefully if it happens they offer some incentives to keep current customers who originally left from Sprint to go to Tmobile in the first place, like myself. If not, its just going to be the same thing as has been going on for years, lots of people havent been to happy with Sprint for awhile now, i mean they arent horrible but TMOBILE for me has been 10x better and ive still got a year left on my contract, so idk. Thanks for the update OP

Some places it works fine, others it takes 10 minutes to load a simple text only news article. The 4GLTE network is growing but it's spotty and definitely does not penetrate buildings well at all. I've had so many calls with their tech support and have heard countless lies and excuses. I pretty much have just been giving Sprint free money for the past couple years. They don't care. So I took advantage of the ETF program Tmobile has and went back. Now my phone actually works!! I have even convinced 6 other people to do the same and they are all happy with the savings and improved network. It seems that Sprint knows it may be passed up my Tmobile soon and instead of improving their service, they will just buy up their competition. I'm pretty sure it won't go through, at least I pray it won't.

Sprint can "secure" all the funding in the world, but there's almost no chance in hell this anti-competitive merger will be allowed to happen.
I hope this does not happen. In Florida..Sprint ....well....sucks!
And look what happened to Nextel when Sprint bought them.....

That's what folks said about the American<>US Airways merger. There are now three network airlines in the U.S. Three wireless providers (VZW, AT&T, T-Mobile<>Sprint) of similar scale will do more for competition in the long run than two massive carriers and two without the resources to continue to invest to remain competitive. Capital investment is a percentage of GOP and neither Sprint or T-Mobile is generating enough profit because of their scale to every compete over the long haul with VZW and AT&T.
As much as I despise Sprint, this makes more sense than the possibly ATT monopoly that could have happened.

I live Orlando to and you're absolutely right Sprint service suck. I took the Tmobile offer and jumped and I was completely surprised with the speed I was getting and how far behind Sprint really is.

T-Mobile really can't catch a break can they? They are finally doing well and Sprint is so threatened. I just don't understand why the weaker struggling carrier is wanting to buy T-Mobile. If any of the T-Mobile executives support this or go through with this, I wish T-Mobile to go under. If T-Mobile stays far away from Sprint, then they will continue to be successful.
If a deal does go through, we can only hope its fails so T-Mobile again gets a nice break up fee.
If it happens it happens. We can only hope they take the good things from each company and mesh them into one.
I do find it odd however that sprint has announced wifi calling as of late. I also left sprint for t mobile. I am impressed big time in the difference, and absolutely love the Wi-Fi calling feature.
However, if the 2 merge, you need to remember that frequencies will be doubled in coverage, not cut back.
Positives and negatives, but myself, I am just hoping T-Mobile gets the bands they want from Verizon, and get bigger and better.
