HTC ONE problem with psneuter - HTC One V

Hi all,
noob here, so please cope.
I'm trying to backup the original ROM and have followed instructions from this great forum.
Have ADB running, trying to run romdump.,
romdump 0.82 needs psneuter first and when I run that I keep getting this error:
Failed to set prot mask (Inappropriate ioctl for device)
When I try to run romdump 0.72, I get a different error when running install:
Android local root exploid (C) The Android Exploid Crew
[+] Using basedir=/data/local/tmp, path=/data/local/install
[+] opening NETLINK_KOBJECT_UEVENT socket
[+] sending add message ...
[-] sendmsg: Connection refused
[1] + Stopped (signal) ./install
Any idea what could be wrong??
Thanks in advance.

I have no idea how to do Rom Dump, but in all regards, Why backup original rom if you have the RUU or the rom already pulled on here?

How about using search? Also, this thread does not belong in development. It's a general question.
=================
There is no write access to /system on the Desire.... yet.
There is two ways to get it working. Either flash/copy a hosts file over in recovery mode (there are tons of threads about it), or enable overlay file system (search).

I wouldn't put faith in the OP being able to navigate through his phone in recovery, seeing as he is unable to search a forum.
This is not a Development question and thus should not be posted in the Development forum.
Thread also reported.
Issue
I actually have some braincells ... en linux experience acolwill ...
Anyway I've tried to flash the hosts file with amon ra recovery but that was also resulting in an access denied when it had to copy the hosts file.
I tried 3 days ago the "enable adblock script" from this thread:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741435
But as it failed I tried alternatives, but I'm getting out of alternatives as everything results it access denieds.

[Q] questions on creating a ROM from nandroid

Hello XDA-D!
This is my first post, so fingers crossed:
Got a question regarding a little learning and development activity I am undertaking.
I'm trying to develop my understanding of creating ROM files. One task I really would like to complete to close some ideas I have, is to restore nandroid backup images (.img) through a ROM install. Yes, I know, there is easier/other ways, but I am just doing this to expand my knowledge so please help...
So, I've got Java SDK and Cygwin installed under windows7. I've got a script that extracts system.img, boot.img, data.img, sd-ext.img and cache.img from the clockwork/backup folder from a connected (rooted) HTC Desire with clockwork mod recovery installed. The boot image is copied into my working area, other images are extracted into their own folders, i.e. ./system ./data and so on, under the working area.
I then add all the other stuff and zip up the working area and create a ROM.
The ROM installs fine but the phone doesnt start up. adb logcat reveals a permission problem with busybox.
I'm thinking I need lots of set_perm and set_perm_recursive in update-script, but what on earth do I set the gids and uids to for all the folders ?
thanks.
Moved to Q&A as not development
ah, apologies and thanks awfully old chap.
Heres hoping I get an answer in that particular forum then.

Revolutionary Install Issues

Keep trying to run this as administrator on my windows 7 64 bit machine.
Error always pops up (even in compatibility mode) that it can't run as adbwinapi.dll is missing.
I installed the latest Android sevelopment sdk along with the needed java files.
Also went into system ` securty and changed to command line to look for this file as I found on another thread.
Any suggestions?
Yup...antivirus was OFF.
You must unzip the revolutionary tool and files into the same location, that is all
next time please post in the right location

Did you "read the effen manual" as you are advised multiple times to do? It really is important. Making sure you aren't running any antivirus is quite important too.
The ACE Hack Kit includes all you need to root your phone. And it does it all for you with very little user input.
I'm having the same issue, I have read the effen manual at least 10 times, tried the chat support and got no reply, then got banned.
I have followed all instructions to the letter yet my downgrade is still failing.
Any one have any ideas?

The Hack Kit works great....and I would like to know why you were banned for....we try to help all the people that get stuck....and we actually do, so if you were banned, you probably didn´t follow the instructions...
By the way, what is the issue u are having?

what the last state of your phone..?, is that already success downgrade by that script..?, or what..?
becuse what i know is...the script needed running twice step process if your phone is already had gingerbread os..
1. first the script need running for downgrade it your phone to froyo version..
2. running that script again for continued processing gaining s-off if the first downgrade process is already success..
what i know is that AAHK script is already retried...
the best way you can try is using AAHK2 script by Phiber2000 from here..
but before that...you must read carefully the guide from that thread..what requirement and compatible for running that script correctly...
hope this can help..

it can be you're had the wrong img downgrade RUU file..or you had bad sd card..
to fix that..you must download the correct RUU file (PD98IMG-GBX.zip) for downgrade process..that are suitable with your CIDnum of your phone...
to do that..you must check it your phone CIDnum with fastboot command "fastboot getvar all" then you will see your CIDnum in the output of the command is in the line "INFO CIDNUM XXXXXXXX.."
example : if your CIDNUM is HTC__044 then the downgrade RUU file you must download is "PD98IMG-GB6.zip" file
if your RUU file for downgrade is already correct but AAHK still fail..then you can try using different sd card..
did you already try using AAHK2 script by Phiber2000 from the link that i give it to you above or still using AAHK first version..?
my bad!

just do not rename it that file..lets try just ignore it what AAHK2 say's...firstly just remove PD98IMG-GB2.zip file from PD98IMG folder (AAHK2 sub folder) that you try already using it before..and just put it your new PD98IMG-GB9.zip to PD98IMG folder under AAHK2 script sub folder..and try running that script again..don't forget to disable your antivirus first before running AAHK2 script..
and just don't forget to using sd card brand that are mentioned from the AAHK2 thread it self..like Sandisk, ADATA, Samsung, Patriot Memory (this is important)
just let me know..can you show me screen shot while running that AAHK2 script process..
Thank youu! IT worked!
thank you for helping.!
I manually copied the zip file to SD card and i locked boot loader, then i boot it with hboot and hoot recognised PD98IMG.ZIP and it flashed automatically. then i run old AAHK(NOT AAHK2) and IT WORKED!
THANK YOU!

[Q] error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin'

Hello everyone, noob here and i ran into a problem. Trying to root my phone through the X_Factor exploit and I'm down to the step to load fastboot flash unlocktoken_code.bin but it keeps throwing the error: cannot load 'Unlock_code.bin' Please help, I also loaded the unlock file into the same file as the others as it stated, under my android file i made. Thanks
X_Factor exploit is for the AT&T One X, not the international One X, so you're either trying to use it on the wrong device or you're posting in the wrong forum.

this isn't your forum, however you need to specify the unlocktoken_code.bin folder...type:
Code:
fastboot flash path/to/unlocktoken_code.bin
